Just like Buddha Jennifer, I'm surprised "Fred" made it in the top 25!

She really flew under the radar in this game. To me, she just didn't last long and shouldn't be in the top 25, let alone the top 20. Just my opinion.

[The Red Jaguars]

Truth be told, season one didn't really have the strongest set of contestants compared to other seasons. So we are going to see some contestants on this list that might not seem deserving. Regardless, I think both Jennifer and Fred's places are fine. And I don't think Jennifer from "Buddha" was that bad either. She was just very slow and made one wrong turn. I like her more than Bobby, Mitchell, and the  kids at least.

Tina from The Pendant of Kamehameha was a very solid player. She always moved forward and kept a relatively good pace for the duration of the run. She got one room away, traversing through nearly every room of the temple and still had a minute left on the clock. However, I feel that it is time for her to get placed on the list of eliminated contestants. She strayed from her partner's path by choosing to go up to the Gargoyle Room, and then when she got into the Throne Room (which had already been activated by her partner), she tried completing the objective again. (Everyone always gives Thomas from "Bifocal Monocle" a hard time for re-completing the Crypt objective in his run, but nobody seems to pounce on Tina for doing it in this run... Sorry, but that is just frustrating.) Also, when Tina entered the Shrine of the Silver Monkey (the only room where the objective was not to hit an actuator or something of that sort), she started to backtrack to the Treasure Room. It's a shame that the delayed temple guard in the Dungeon ended this run, because there was a lot of potential for this team to have pulled out a win, but unfortunately it was not to be.

Good stopping place for Tina, but I honestly never noticed her sitting on the throne. I give her a pass there because it was so early in the first season and whenever an item was in the room to the left of the Throne Room (Swamp, Spider's Lair, etc), the clean-up players probably didn't know better. They probably thought that if they sat on the throne again that the Swamp door would open. I give Tina and Lost Gold Mine Jennifer a pass because it was so early in the show.

As for Thomas, he was just AWFUL! The Crypt was there in season 2. You would think he would just run through the Crypt and directly into the Pit, but nooooo. He tries completing the objective again. Why? Because he thought going into the Ledges from the Crypt was a smart idea? What he did was a boneheaded move and he deserves to be belittled because of this. Besides, the Tomb of the Headless Kings wasn't open from the Pit, so entering the Ledges would have been a bad move. Also, he made the same mistake Veronica made by entering the Room of the Ancient Warriors AND he almost entered the King's Storeroom. I'm sorry, but bad player is bad.

Yeah, a lot of season one players sat on the Throne when they didn't need to. The second runner from "Mata Hari", Adam from "Davey Crockett", Chris from "Lost Lariat", etc. It was just a compulsory thing to do I guess. 

Spot #17 will go to Nick from "Henry VIII's Great Seal". Like Tina, he was fast in the temple and this team would've won if they found that other half-pendant. But he did look kind of clueless in some of the temple rooms, where most notably he opened up the cabinets trying to find the piece of the monkey. I think this is a good stopping point for him.

Time for me to make my first elimination of the day and it goes to David (King Tut's Cobra Staff). He might have been slower than Eusinia, but he seemed smarter and knew what to do. However, due to a lack of speed and better players still hanging around, I'm giving him 16th place.

And I will get rid of the other Tracy from "Snake Bracelet" off this list. While she did score a win, she kind of stalled in some rooms of the temple. Plus, she wasted time trying to go to the Treasury of Golden Orbs from the Observatory when she clearly saw that Robert went into the Room of Fallen Columns. This team should've finished with more time on the clock too since they had a simple layout. This is a good stopping point for her.

Next to go is Shane (The Oracle Bowl of Delphi). While he moved at a fast pace, he didn't last that long in the temple. Plus, he's kind of responsible for this run being a loss when he entered the top starting room. Sure, his partner was pathetic, but we could've avoided some of her stupidity had Shane started in the Cave of Sighs.

For my second elimination of the day, I am putting a stop to Danny's trek through the "Best Contestants" list (Medal of Sir Edmund Hillary). I really don't see how he has outlasted some of the other contestants in the Top 25. He only cleared five rooms, one of which was a detoured voyage to the Gargoyle Room. Sure he was fast enough to "evade" the guard in the Gargoyle Room, but he really didn't make that much progress through the temple, nor did he do anything in his short time that was noteworthy in my book. The 12th position is a very gracious stopping place for Danny.

The first person to end up in the Top 10 is Jennifer (Dragon Lady and the Blue Pearl). Although she was a very good contestant (both fast and smart), she did not have to complete any objectives other than the Tomb of Ancient Kings; her partner had already completed all seven of the other rooms' objectives, and all she had to do was follow his path. I don't think that she should outrank the other people left in the running because they all completed multiple room objectives during their time in the temple.

(Just in case you haven't noticed, the Top 10 is going to contain five girls and five boys, even though that wasn't required to happen.)

On a side note, it was quite possible for Jennifer to have shimmied down the Holes of Python instead of "reaching" for the Blue Pearl in the final few seconds. Also, if the time delay in the Well coming back up to the Torch Room hadn't occurred, then she would have also had an extra 3-5 seconds to grab the Pearl, so I think that this "loss" is due to a production error.

Yeah, Jennifer could've easily reached the Blue Pearl had she not gone for the dramatic dive. I blame Kirk for it though because he was the one shouting at her to dive in the first place. And the Well bucket did eat up some of her time. But I still mostly blame Albert for her not reaching it. He never left her enough time.

Spot #9 will go to Robbie from "Kamehameha". He was definitely one of the fastest contestants on the show, but he only lasted four rooms and the only objective he completed was the Throne Room (if you want to call that an objective.). And while he probably didn't know better like other season one contestants, he was kind of responsible for this run ending in a triple capture by beelining for the direct path. He would've had a solo run if he went up into the Observatory. This is a good stopping point for him.

Taking 8th place is Steve (The Keys to the Alhambra). Just like Robbie, Steve was very fast. However, he didn't last long and he really didn't complete any objectives. Plus, he also went for the direct path. Even if his partner was dumb, I still think this run would've ended in capture. However, Steve is the main point of this post and 8th is a good stopping place for him.
