By principle, I shouldn't like this one.  I don't really care for personal attacks on one specific person through music, but this song is just so catchy that my general view on that sort of thing is overruled. *Shrugs*

Horde - "Silence The Blasphemous Chanting"

Part of a one-off project by Jayson Sherlock, better known as a death metal drummer.  Off the only studio album Hellig Usvart (Norwegian— translation below), the guy recorded everything and countered the "unholy" black metal released by "vtterly kvlt" musicians with what he termed "holy unblack" metal.  I'm not usually a fan of black metal... or of blatantly Christian or anti-Christian lyrics... but I'll make an exception for this. :lol:

I actually got to interview drummer Shawn Drover about that song and the others from RIP that weren't performed live before last year's tours ("Five Magics" and "Poison Was The Cure").  He said it was the hardest of the three to learn because of many precise details, but I still wonder if Dave Squared (who actually recorded the songs in studio) agree... :P Anywho:

Black Sabbath - "Wheels Of Confusion"

Really loving Vol. 4 lately- I think it's really made me feel a lot better about the band (rather than just "they were the founders of metal and should be thanked for that").

Stratovarius - "Emancipation Suite I: Dusk"


One of the best ones off 2009's Polaris.  The album as a whole was proof that the band is still doing great after all this time, and I can't wait for their next album, Elysium.
