This is an episode of the new Legends called Legends: Evolved. Any problem, please go to the link stated and post.

Also, no comments until the end of the episode.

Note for this episode: This episode does not contain anything religious, even if the title implies it.

Episode 127 (3x48):The Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg

The camera manoeuvers through a lot of plants and stops in front of an ancient Mayan Temple. Then, a talking stone head appears and says:
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! (The pendant logo appears and the background shows the whole temple) With your guide, KIRK FOGG! (The pendant logo breaks into pieces) AND HERE HE IS NOW!!!!

Kirk swings in to the set and lands. He then says:
Thank you very much! Thank you! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend of each of the treasures of his temple. Which one are we gonna here about today?

Olmec: The legend of the Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutennberg

Kirk: Ooh, The Missing Bible of Johannes Gutenberg. Well, one of these teams will have a chance to retrieve the Missing Charts. Will it be... (The camera shows the team up close)

The Red Jaguars?
The Blue Barracudas?
The Green Monkeys?
The Orange Iguanas?
The Purple Parrots?
The Silver Snakes?

(The camera goes back to Kirk) They'll have to pass a lot of physical and mental tests, and in the end only on team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple. But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll have to do it today.

Olmec: Before you lies a hollow log floating in the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will roll the log to the other side, with their partner moving on top of the log. If the second player falls into the water, both of you must begin again. Once both of you are across, run over and hit the gong!

(Kirk hits the Silver Snake gong to demonstrate)

Olmec: The first 4 teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright. Teams! Are you ready?

(The teams indicate they're ready)

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: Let's rock!

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(The Green Monkeys are starting off well compared to the other teams, with the Purple Parrots struggling much worse than the others)

Kirk: Green Monkeys are going off well. They're almost there.

(The Green Monkeys hit their gong while the other teams are halfway through, with the exception of the Purple Parrots)

Kirk: Purple Parrots must catch up! The other teams are close!

(The Red Jaguars, the Blue Barracudas and the Orange Iguanas manage to hit their gongs just before the Silver Snakes hit theirs)

Kirk: That's it! We've got our 4 teams! (Kirk runs to the Red Jaguars). Nice job, guys. You were neck and neck. Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars, the Blue Barracudas, the Green Monkeys, and the Orange Iguanas!

Kirk: The Purple Parrot and the Silver Snakes gave a great effort. We've got a nice gift for them. Here's what it is.

(Kirk and the teams are at the Steps of Knowledge)

Kirk: As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg, but pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple.

Olmec: One of the most remarkable person of his time was Johannes Gutenberg. Born and raised in Germany, his father worked with the ecclesiastic mint and he was the trade of goldsmithing. Around 1439, he was involved in making polished mirrors for an exhibition, but this exhibition was delayed one year and the Germans needed a way to satisfy their investors.

Olmec: Townsman 1: How about we just give them the mirrors for them to sell?

Olmec: Townsman 2: Are you crazy? They are sacred in helping us capture holy light from ancient relics.

Olmec: Townsman 3: But what else is there?

Olmec: "I can share with you people a 'secret'," said Gutenberg.

Olmec: "What secret?" shouted the townsmen.

Olmec: "The secret of 'Art and Enterprise'", said Johannes, and immediately, the whole town was dumbfounded.

Olmec: Townsmen: "That's your secret???"

Olmec: Johannes: "It's the title of my research on the secret of printing."

Olmec: Johannes showed them his research and many people were in awe. He decided to work on the printing press for four years and the very first article, a German poem, was printed in 1450, and the printing press was in operation.

Olmec: In 1455, Johannes decided to print the 42-line Bible and it was so popular, it was known as the Gutenberg Bible. However, when more copies of the Bible were made, some of the townsmen stole some of these copies including the first edition. Eventually, that first edition made its way to the temple. Your task is to retrieve the Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg and bring it back here.

Kirk: Thanks, Olmec. So where is this Bible?

Olmec: The Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg can be found in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers.

Kirk: Alright. Teams, you are now on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec's gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you get it right, you're gonna move down to the next level. If you're wrong or an out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question.

Olmec: In which country was.....? (Red Jaguars stomp in)
Female Red Jaguar: Germany!
Olmec: That is correct

Kirk: Nice job, Red Jaguars. Next question.

Olmec: What precious metal does Johannes' father.....? (Red Jagaurs stomp in)
Male Red Jaguar: Gold?
Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Red Jaguars are on a role here. Next question.

Olmec: How long was the exhibition delayed for?
A month....
A year....
or a week...?
(There is a short pause, then the Blue Barracudas stomp in)
Female Blue Barracuda: A year?
Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Blue Barracudas are heading down, but it's still anyone's game. Next question.

Olmec: The mirrors used for the festival were to be used to....? (Red Jaguars stomp in)
Male Red Jaguar: Catching some light?
Female Red Jaguar: Holy light?
Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Alright, we got our first team, but who will join them? Will it be the Blue Barracudas, the Green Monkeys or the Orange Iguanas? Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: What was the title of Johannes 'secret'?
Gold and Silver...
Printing and Developing...
or Art and Enterprise?
(Green Monkeys stomp in)
Male Green Monkey: Printing and Developing?
Olmec: Incorrect
(Blue Barracudas stomp in)
Female Blue Barracuda: Art and Enterprise?
Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Nice one by the Blue Barracudas. Next question.

Olmec: The first article to be printed....? (Blue Barracudas stomp in)
Male Blue Barracuda: A poem?
Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: These two teams will be moving on to the Temple Games, and they are the Red Jaguars, and the Blue Barracudas. The Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas put in a great effort. We've got a nice gift for them. Here's what they got.

Announcer: A $50 savings bond from Melody Pops (Description)

Kirk: These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec's Temple and we're gonna do it right after this.

(The camera pans away from the teams, and another pans towards the Stolen Bible in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers, and the pendant logo crashes and the show fades to black)

(The show comes back from break and the pendant logo splits)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. Now, glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, but before we get started, let's meet our two teams.

Kirk: On the Red Jaguars, we have Freddie who's into baseball and wants to be a pro baseball player, and Jalander who loves music and wants to be a musician when she grows up. Let's hear it for the Red Jaguars. (The audience cheers for a tall Caucasian boy with brown hair guy and a relatively short dark-skin girl with black hair)

Kirk: And on the Blue Barracudas, we have Jackie who loves fishing and says she wants to be an artist, and Liam who loves Science and wants to work in the crime lab. Let's hear it for the Blue Barracudas. (The audience cheers for a medium-size Latin girl with black hair and a Caucasian boy of the same height with blonde hair)

Kirk: Why don't you girls get ready for the first Temple Games and you guys get ready for the second. I'll them what's gonna happen here. In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win, yes, the pendants of life. The winning team will need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the Temple. There are 3 temple games, and Olmec , tell us about Temple Game #1.

Olmec: Johannes Gutenberg had many printed articles lying around. Some were even hanging from the ceiling. Your task is to retrieve them for him. When Kirk gives the signal, jump up, grab an article and drop it in your bin. The player with the most articles at the end of sixty seconds wins.

Kirk: Housekeeping in a minute. Let's put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with sixty seconds)

Kirk: On your mark, get set, GO!

(The girls go off with a strong start)

Kirk: Pages hanging everywhere! (0:45)

(Jalander leads with an extra article while Jackie is trailing her)

Kirk: Jumping everywhere! (0:20)

(Jalander is now struggling, while Jackie is catching up)

Kirk: Can anyone get in the lead? (Time's up) Oh, time's up! (Kirk heads over to the girls) Let's count them up. Red Jaguars have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 articles. Blue Barracudas have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 articles. It's a tie! They each get a half pendant of life (audience cheers)

Kirk: The next game is worth a half pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: Before Johannes could actually get the printing press working, he had to attend the festival and bring along many mirrors. Your task is to retrieve the mirrors for him. When Kirk gives the signal, run out, grab a mirror and drop it in your bin. However, if you get hit by the festival wrecking ball, you must drop the mirror and try again. The first player to get all four mirrors or the player that is further along at the end of sixty seconds wins.

Kirk: Let's put sixty seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with sixty seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(The guys are patiently timing when to run while the ball swings, then both guys run and retrieved the first mirror with ease)

Kirk: A wrecking ball! Who knew? (0:51)

(Freddie runs ahead of Liam, but gets hit before bringing the mirror back while Liam gets is able to retrieve the second mirror)

Kirk: Red is trailing, you gotta catch up. (0:34)

(Freddie has just grabbed his second mirror, while Liam has placed his third mirror in his bin)

Kirk: Blue needs just one more! (0:15)

(Seconds later, Liam gets hit while running back with his last mirror, giving Freddie a chance, but before the mirror reaches the bin...)

Kirk: That's it! Time's up! Let's count 'em up. (Kirk goes over to the guys) So, Red Jaguars have 1, 2 mirrors while Blue Barracudas have 1, 2, 3 mirrors! The Blue Barracudas get the half pendant of life!

Kirk: So the Red Jaguars have a half pendant, the Orange Iguanas a full pendant. We go to the third and final game. it's worth a full pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: During the festival, many investors came to Germany to buy some of Germany's goods. You have been hired by these investors to bring the stuff to them. When Kirk gives the signal, run out to the centre and grab an item. Then, run back and drop it in you bin. Only one from each team can go at a time. To make things quite difficult, both teams are tied to your respective walls of these investors just in case you escape with the goods. The player with the most goods in sixty seconds wins!

Kirk: This game is for the Temple! Put sixty seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with sixty seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(The guys from each team run out and struggle to reach for the first item and bring it back)

Kirk: It's a fight to the finish! (0:47)

(The girls run out, but Jackie is having trouble reaching an item while Jalander barely gets her item back)

Kirk: Blue needs this as much as Red, so you better catch up (0:29)

(Some seconds later, the Red Jaguars are leading while the Blue Barracudas struggle to catch up mainly because of Jackie struggling to get close to the items)

Kirk: It's still anyone's game at this point. Blue better step it up a notch. (0:14)

(14 seconds later)

Kirk: That's it!

(Kirk walks up to each team and brings each bin to the center while the spotters untie the players)

Kirk: Let's see how they've done. Red has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 items while Blue has 1, 2, 3 items. That gives the Red Jaguars a full pendant which means they get a pendant and a half while the Blue Barracudas have 1 pendant. The Red Jaguars are going to the Temple!

Kirk: Amazing effort by the Blue Barracudas. We've got a nice gift for them. Here's what it is.

Announcer: Hush Puppies, the most comfortable shoes in the whole wide world. (Description...)

Kirk: The Red Jaguars are very excited here, and we're gonna see if they can make it through Olmec's Temple and retrieve the Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg right after this!

(The camera pans away from Kirk and the Red jaguars and another moves across the lower Temple floor and looks into the Pit of the Pendulum and the pendant logo crashes together and the show fades to black)
Favourite Team: Red Jaguars
Favourite Episode: The Jewel-Encrusted Egg of Catherine the Great, tied with the Mussel Shell Armor of Apanuugpak and the Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain
Favourite Season: Season 3

(The show is back from break and the pendant logo splits, revealing a headless king and zooms out)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Freddie and Jalander have proven themselves worthy and now have earned the right to Olmec's Temple, but before we get started, Olmec's gonn give them some information to help them retrieve the Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg.

Olmec: You could start by running up the stairs to the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Pit of the Pendulum. Knock over the column, and climb into the King's Storeroom! Smash the clay pots to find the key, that will lead you into the Chamber… of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right, to the rules on the left, and pass into the Rooom… of the Ancient Warriors! Place yourself in the correct armor, and open the door to the SHRINE of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Room… of the Secret Password. Find the tablet with the correct inscription, and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh's Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Quicksand Bog, where you could smash through to the Dark Forest… but beware the Temple Guards that may inhabit the treeeeees! Find the key in the tree and you'll enter… the Jester's Court! Press yourself against the correct wall painting, and you'll gain entry to the Tomb of the Headless Kiiiiiings! Pull the vines to release their bones, and attach the missing skull to its proper king! Then, race through the pit, CLIMB through the Ledges, rrrrrrace down the STAIRS and back through the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours ALONE! You won 1 and a 1/2 pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first?

Jalander: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Jalander. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Stolen Bible. Hidden inside the Temple are temple guards assigned to protect 3 specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple, and it will Freddie’s turn to try his luck. Hidden somewhere in the Temple is the other half of your pendant. If you can find it and you're carrying the other half, you will get an extra life.

Olmec: If you can reach the Bible, allhe doors in the Temple will instantly unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return to the gates with the Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg in three minutes, and you'll be handsomely rewarded, and here's HOW!

Announcer: First you get some skates from Ultrawheel. (Description)

Announcer: Grab the artifact in three minutes, and you will receive this game table from Sportscraft! (Description)

Announcer: If you can get the Bible out of the Temple before three minutes is up, you'll both be going to California! (Description)

Kirk: California, here we come! Okay, Jalander, put your mouthpiece in. Lower your gate, Olmec.

(Olmec lowers the gate)

Kirk: Put three minutes on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with three minutes)

Kirk: On your mark, get set, GO!

Jalander runs up the stairs and into the Crypt (2:55) and pulls the first book before... (2:53) "Temple Guard! Right off the bat!" The first book opened the Ledges door, but Jalander tries another book, and the door to the Pit of the Pendulum opens. (2:46). She swings on the rope and knocks down the column and was able to come back to the platform. (2:36) She heads into the King's Storeroom and smashes all pots and finds the half pendant and signals Freddie. (2:24) She tries all three holes, the last one lowering the rock slab to the Room of the Ancient Warriors which she enters. (2:11) She tries the first armor (2:07), but nothing happens, so she tries the second (2:02), but the door is still locked. She tries the last armor, and the door opens, but at the same time...... (1:58)

"Temple Guard! It's all on you, Freddie." He races to the King's Storeroom and.... (1:45) "He's found the half pendant! That's gonna be helpful!" He makes his way to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey (1:39) and starts assembling. After completing the Monkey (1:24), the doors to the Room of the Secret Password and Dark Forest open, and he heads down the passage into the Dark Forest. (1:16) He tries the tree on the left, but there's no key. He tries the one on the right and.... (1:11) "Oh! A Temple Guard! Good thing for the other half pendant." He uses the key to open the door to the Jester's Court and enters. (1:02) He tries the painting on the left (0:57), but nothing happens. he tries the middle painting (0:53), but the door to the Tomb of the Headless Kings is still not open. He tries the one on the right (0:49), and the door opens. Inside the Tomb of the Headless King (0:44), he starts pulling the vines, and the very last one lets the skull drop. (0:34) He puts the skull on the king on the right (0:28), but the king does not light up. He heads over to the king on the left and puts the skull on him (0:247) and the door to the Chamber of the Sacred markers opens. Kirk yells "Yes, the door's open. Go, go, go!" while Jalander is cheering Freddie on. He climbs up the ladder and enters the Chamber of the Secret Markers and grabs the Bible attached on the railing (0:16).

"That's it! The doors are open, now get out!" He crawls into the Pit of the Pendulum, runs through the Crypt and jumps down the stairs and (0:05)

Kirk: He made it! Can you believe it? He did it! Jalander and Freddie did it! Jalander can't believe it, she's still screaming. Freddie's worn out. We're all tired out. See you next time on another great Legend of the Hidden Temple. Bye!

(The camera moves away from the Kirk and the Red Jaguars and gives us a slow view of the entire Temple while credits roll)

Legends of the Hidden Temple was recorded in front of a live audience in Nickelodeon studios and Universal Studios, Florida.

Temple Run Summary

The Missing Charts of Christopher Columbus

Name of Artifact: The Stolen Bible of Johannes Gutenberg
Season: 3
Layout: 1
Pendants won: 1 1/2
Half Pendant Location: The King's Storeroom (found)
Location of Artifact: The Chamber of the Sacred Markers
Result: Win!

From a painful loss to an exciting win. Jalander and Freddie are really great players. Jalander moved quickly in the Temple and did two good things. She got back to the platform and she signalled the half pendant in the King's Storeroom which Freddie would need as the third guard was in the Dark Forest. Speaking of whom, Freddie was really fast and knew what to do. He grabbed the Bible and got out in time with a few seconds to spare!

Rating: 8.5/10

Notes:

This is the first win where the artifact is in the centre of the Temple and the player must enter the room from the bottom.
