Have you tried using names whose meaning relates to the type or character? Etymology makes the character more interesting. Like Felicity. It means quality of expressions. I used it for my fanfic champion name because she has different types. It also means joyful because Felicity always sees the good in situations.

I did that for some of them. Charlie comes from the latin name for steel, chalybs, Melinda means dark, Ariana sounds like arachnid, and Jack and rock are both four letter words that end in ck. The rest I just chose names of people I knew.

Does anyone have any strategies for beating the Pokemon League in HG/SS? I'm using Heracross, Skarmory, Mismagius, and Octillery. Heracross and Skamory end up dead during the battle with Will, and Octillery sometimes makes it past Koga. Mismagius and Octillery (if he survived) and up dead on Bruno's Hitmonchan.
