Title: Worst Team by Season - Day Six: Season 3

I feel that we need a new poll in this forum, so I have a new idea for a thread. This poll won't take long at all, and will last only for 3 days.  :grin:

So what team was the best of each season? Every team had their fair share of shining and shameful moments. Some teams shined more so than others in certain seasons. Who was the best team in each season then? The best team could be one that made it to the temple a lot, won a lot of temple runs during that season, have very dominant teams, etc. For the next 3 days, we are going to vote for the best team for each season.  :grin:

I voted for the Blue Barracudas as the best team of Season 1. They were the only team that had mostly good temple teams and very few bad ones. They also made it to the temple a reasonable amount of times too during that season, and grabbed the artifact 4 times. Both Map to the Lost Gold Mine and Buddha also featured a team finishing first in every round AND winning in the temple. The only real bad team was Kristen and Scott from Lucky Pig. But that is because Kristen was a lost cause. -_-

I was going to vote for the Silver Snakes for having a lot of great teams - Galileo, Sultan Saladin, Kamehameha, Sir Edmund Hillary, and Great Seal. They also had the most wins and temple appearances too. But I can't vote for them as the best team when they had runs like Golden Cricket Cage, Lost Hammer, and Mata Hari. And wins like Silk Ladder and Davy Crockett were lame.  :?

I'm gonna have to go with the Silver Snakes here. Sure they had atrocious runs like Cricket Cage and Lost Hammer. But they also had the most wins, especially exciting wins like Galileo and Sultan Saladin. The Blue Barracudas did an alright job Season 1, but they only had maybe three good runs, and that's it. And besides John Sutter and Atahualpa, very few of their runs were memorable at all, win or no win.

By the way, are you gonna do "worst team by season" as well? It might tack on an extra three days, but I'd like to see that too. ;)

I was thinking the same thing! And to save time, I will just hold the "Worst Season 1 team" poll after I am done this one. Just so I don't have to do the episode list all over again.  :lol:

The Silver Snakes in Season 1 were like the Green Monkeys in Season 3. Except they didn't have as many good teams as the Green Monkeys. But still, they had the most wins out of any season for any team. And runs like Kamehameha and Great Seal would've been wins if it wasn't for triple capture. But that sorry as Cricket Cage and Lost Hammer turned me away from them. Those were some really bad teams. :oops:

Green Monkeys might've been another choice, except that they only had 4 appearances. But they still grabbed an artifact 3/4 times despite their few appearances.

The Blue Barracudas were nothing special in Season 1 honestly. John Sutter and Atahualpa is the only thing they had going for them. All the other runs they had were completely forgettable, and they really weren't THAT dominant. I base my vote on how many appearances a team had, how many wins they had, etc. Not bias because of a favorite team. The Silver Snakes getting my vote made the most sense to me.

Well, really NO team was THAT special in Season 1. The Iguanas and Parrots were the ultimate under performers, the Jaguars were mediocre, and that left the Barracudas, Monkeys, and Snakes at the top.

But the Snakes were clearly the better team this season. Way more appearances and wins than anybody else.

I voted for the Red Jaguars as the worst team of Season 1. They went to the temple almost as much as the Silver Snakes, yet they only won 2 times. And of course, one of those wins was the piss easy Shaka Zulu. :roll: Also, all of their losses are pretty bad too. I mean you have Alhambra and Blackbeard which are disasters. And Golden Ship is the shortest run ever too. The only loss I can tolerate is Golden Cup. Overall, the Red Jaguars were very disappointing during this season despite appearing in 10 episodes.

I know the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots were not very successful either. But none of their runs were glaringly bad, and their lack of success is kind of excusable. The Red Jaguars sucked in almost every episode.  :oops:

I also voted for the Jags. The Iguanas were close behind, but some of these Jaguar runs are iconically bad. Just awful.

I gave it to the Purple Parrots. Sorry, but I just can't be bias. They lost 7/9 temple game appearances and their temple runs were just painful to watch. They only had two temple appearances, and neither of them were wins. How can you guys vote for the Red Jaguars when they had all the temple appearances? Sure all their runs were unimpressive, but at least you KNEW they existed. The Purple Parrots had almost zero temple appearances, and that's completely inexcusable. Even the Orange Iguanas had more appearances than them.

Sorry, but looks like I'm the only person who's going for an actual realistic vote. I voted for the Parrots. Their complete and utter failure is unforgivable. :|

I voted for the Orange Iguanas as the best team. They had the most temple appearances and almost all of their temple runs were pretty strong. Atocha, Levitating Dog Leash, Mush Pot Hat, and Dolley Madison were all strong runs where the artifact was grabbed. And they also had the most wins too. They had a couple of bad episodes like Cracked Crown and Harriet Tubman. But they definitely shined this season after a disappointing first season.

Purple Parrots are my runner-up team. They also came back strong with some very strong teams too. I went with the Orange Iguanas though because they had some slightly stronger teams and more successful runs. But both teams came back strong after their disappointing Season 1 tenure.

This season was very evenly balanced for the most part. Blue, Green, Orange, and Purple all stood out to me a lot. I had to give it to the Barracudas. But not by much.

I agree, Season 2 was the most balanced season on the show. And what a coincidence, all of the voters here feel the same way too. :lol: Orange is the winner with 2 votes. While Green, Purple, and Blue all get a vote too. ;)

I voted for the Red Jaguars as the worst team of Season 2. They were the only team to not have a single win this season, even though they had a lot of temple appearances. Runs like Charles Lindbergh, Queen Nzinga, and Captain John Smith were all pretty bad runs too. They only had one artifact grab the whole season. They are easily the least successful team this season.

I was actually agreeing with both of you. ;) The Purple Parrots would've been my second choice because how dominant they were with a few teams. And they also had a good representation during this season too.

But yeah, the Red Jaguars are the clear favorites for this season. All the other polls were up in the air, but this one is one-sided. :lol: Two-Cornered Hat is the only time they reached the artifact, and that was like a last second grab. The other temple runs honestly felt like an epic fail for them during this season.  :oops:

Yeah, Montezuma and Napoleon are the only two Red Jaguar runs in Season 2 I can even come close to liking. The latter being the only artifact grab from them. So it's no surprise they're dominating the polls this time around. The rest of the runs were average to terrible. I mean, 2/6 of those runs were very avoidable triple captures. That's.... not good. :oops:

I voted for the Green Monkeys as the best team of Season 3. Why? Because they went to the temple 15 times during that season alone! And most of those teams were pretty strong too. The only bad teams were Xerxes and Robert the Bruce. And they also had the most wins too. And not only were they dominant in the temple, but look at all their temple game losses?

Roland, Queen Boadicea, Mummified Hand, Gwalior, Bifocal Monocle, Thornwood Gavel, Bent Shaving Pan, Henry Hudson, Metal Beard, Poseidon, and Benzibab. That is 11 temple game losses! They are far away the best team from this season. ;)

And PS, you forgot Dried Apple Half as another bad Green Monkey run, Stone Marker. ;)

I voted for the Blue Barracudas the worst team of Season 3. It literally took them the fifth production day to even get to the temple games (Mysterious Manuscript). After having a relatively good first two seasons, they were very disappointing in Season 3. Every other team had a win this season also, but the Blue Barracudas didn't even have an artifact grab. And most of their runs were not that great either aside from Red Sash. Easy vote for me.  ;)

At least the Blue Barracudas had some appearances. The Purple Parrots didn't. They were extremely weak this season, even with the one win they had. I don't know, were the Blue Barracudas really THAT bad this season?

The Purple Parrots would've been my runner-up choice. But at least they had a presence during this season and even a temple win. I remember the Purple Parrots more than I do with the Blue Barracudas. Blue made it to the temple games only 7 times and went to the temple 5 of those times. And it took them 18 episodes to even make it to the temple games too (Mary Shelley). It will be interesting to see what other people post. ;)

Yeah, that was another thing I was gonna mention too. The Blue Barracudas won 5/7 temple game appearances, where all but one were 2 pendant runs. They even won 5 temple game appearances in a row, and lost their only tiebreaker too. But yeah, it took them until the fifth filming day to even advance from the steps. And of course they didn't have a single win. But the Purple Parrots winning only 2/12 temple game appearances was a lot more humiliating in my opinion. Especially since they lost to teams like Smashed Printing Plate, Enormous Feather, Xerxes, etc. I have a feeling it's gonna be a close vote between Blue and Purple, who are otherwise dominant teams. ;)

Red was no prize themselves either. They only made it to the temple four times and won twice. And one of those wins were Roland where even the Bifocal Monocle kids would've won. And we had Smashed Printing Plate where Jason and Dana were incompetent and cheaters. :oops: And like Purple, they had a lot of temple game losses too. Especially to teams like Bifocal Monocle, Snow Cone, and Pytheas.  :oops:

Green was pretty much the only team that was strong honestly. Though we had Orange, with 9 temple appearances, but only one win. So they didn't do particularly well either. And then we had Silver, with 5 temple appearances, and 3 wins. Not to mention, Silver lost A LOT to the Green Monkeys in the temple games in Season 3. I totally agree about Red too. :oops:

It's such a toss up between Blue and Purple. Blue made it to the Temple more but Purple at least won 50% of their appearances. Not even the Green Monkeys can say that, even though it was only two attempts.

Gotta go with Blue on this one.

I believe I should bring closure to this thread. The Blue Barracudas win the worst team award for Season 3!

Best Team
Season 1
  :snakes2:
Silver Snakes
Season 2
  :iguanas2:
Orange Iguanas
Season 3
  :monkeys2:
Green Monkeys
Worst Team
Season 1
  :jaguars2:
Red Jaguars
Season2
  :jaguars2:
Red Jaguars
Season 3
  :barracudas2:
Blue Barracudas

The first two seasons had closer results than the last season. This is because the first two seasons had multiple teams shine and disappoint. But in Season 3, we could tell that the Green Monkeys were the best team and the Blue Barracudas (and the Purple Parrots to an extent) were the worst team. The Red Jaguars are the only team to win multiple awards, and that is for both worst awards. :oops: Purple Parrots are the only team that didn't win one. :o

Wow, the Red Jaguars won the worst award twice? That's embarrassing. I told you they're a rotten team. :oops:

Thanks for hosting this by the way. If I can make a request: Do you think you could rehash the Rate the Teams (http://phantomstemple.us.to/index.php?topic=2595.0) poll again? Since the old poll is almost two years old, and maybe we can get some newer members perspective. I don't know, it's up to you. ;)

And while we're on the subject of this thread, here's who I thought were the best and worst:

Season 1:
Best: Silver Snakes
Worst: Purple Parrots

Season 2:
Best: Purple Parrots (I think this was what I voted for?)
Worst: Red Jaguars (by far :oops: )

Season 3:
Best: Green Monkeys (obviously)
Best: Purple Parrots (Even though I voted for Blue)

So I'd say only half of my choices won their respective awards. Close enough I guess. ;)
