$200K in just over a day.  Really makes me believe that regardless of where we derive our senses of morality from, most of humanity is still good at heart. :)

Not sure if anybody here has a few bucks to spare, but here's the link, just in case:

But on a more positive note, I just found out an online fund has been set up to help one of my high school crew team coach's students and her mother, who were severly injured in one of the blasts.  In just a few hours, people have already donated over $57K.  Faith in humanity = hanging in there.

Quote from: Cristina Scabbia's Facebook
Gotta "love it" when some internet bored morons, instead of paying respect to the sad moment Boston is going through, are filling pages with stupid photoshopped pictures and illuminati bullshit to get their 5 minutes attention show.

This is REAL life, you idiots: don't measure it on how many "likes" you're gonna get on your stupid fake pictures.

Enough for today. Pissed.

Good night, to the smart and respectful people out there.
I know you are the majority, thank Goodness.

But on a more positive note, here's a more uplifting quote by a childhood friend of mine:

Quote
When you watch the footage, what do you see through the smoke and panic? You see civilians, coming together to help. Not after the chaos, not days later, as soon as the explosion, you see them in unison with the Armed Forces, police, EMT and firefighters. Just goes to show you that Boston is still filled with the great American patriots it was when this country started.

Well, my uncle was in town but thankfully not in the same area.  Pretty close call for sure... I'm pretty much staying on Facebook for the evening now to listen if anybody needs someone to talk to.

But I suppose when it's my time, it's my time.  I mean, you could technically get hit by a drunk driver and potentially killed any time you're on the road, but that doesn't stop people from riding in cars.

No, I agree.  It's too bad life has to go on regardless, even as it feels more and more dangerous every day...

I just heard somebody else could expect something like this at New Years' Eve in Times Square at this point.  It's just... insane.

I guess the worst part, though, isn't the number of casualties.  It's the paranoia and fear that the whole bombing caused.  This last year's just been so ridiculous that it just doesn't feel safe going anywhere anymore. :(

...Or, strike what I said.  There were homemade bombs, but luckily not all of them went off.  Two are apparently being disarmed now.

I'm just hoping this gets cleared up and we find out it was really just a freak accident.  I'd hate to hear it was a planned terrorist attack at the event!

I think I just heard someone interviewed who claimed he saw a garbage barrel blow up.  Sounds like a bomb scare for sure, and I really, really was hoping it was just a technical failure like an electrical fire...
