Title: Legends: Rebirth-The Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony
Post by: The Bandit King on March 21, 2010, 02:41:51 PM
Episode 34: The Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony

The camera winds and twists its way through a thick jungle of strange and exotic plants. After a few wrong turns, it finally stops in front of an ancient Mayan temple. At the base of the temple, a giant stone head sits. Suddenly, the head’s eyes light up and it begins to speak:

Legends of the Hidden Temple: Rebirth!” These words appear on the screen. “With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now!”

A middle-aged man wearing a denim shirt and blue jeans swings in on a rope. He drops down and runs up the Steps of Knowledge, microphone in hand.

“Thank you! Thank you, everybody! Nice to see everyone again! It’s good to see you again, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple: Rebirth. The rooms are filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legends behind each of these newly discovered treasures in his temple…which one are we gonna hear about today, Olmec?”

“The legend of the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony,” Olmec replies.

“Oh, the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony,” Kirk repeats. “Well, the legend’s set, and one of these six teams will get a chance to retrieve the crumpled ballot—will it be:

“The Red Jaguars?” The camera zooms in on each team as they are introduced.
“The Blue Barracudas?
“The Green Monkeys?
“The Orange Iguanas?
“The Purple Parrots?
“Or the Silver Snakes?

“They’ll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests, but in the end, only one team can enter Olmec’s Temple. But first, they have to cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they’ll have to do that today…”

Olmec begins to explain the Moat Crossing:
“Before you, a mini-archipelago floats in the Moat. Your task is to cross the Moat by hopping from island to island. When Kirk gives the signal, step out onto the first island, find your footing, and continue on to the next island. Once you’re safely across, it’ll be your partner’s turn to do the same. If you fall or touch the islands with anything other than your feet, you must go back and start again. Once both players reach the other side, run over and hit the gong.” Kirk hits the Silver Snakes’ gong to demonstrate. “The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!”

“All right, let’s get started already,” says Kirk. “Teams, are you ready?”
The six teams scream and cheer in response.
“But Olmec, are you ready?” asks Kirk.
“Let’s boogie,” Olmec replies.
“Ha, ha—okay,” Kirk chuckles. “Teams on your mark, get set, GO!”

“There they go—whoa, there he goes!” Kirk narrates as the teams rush onto the islands and the Blue Barracudas’ boy falls into the Moat almost immediately. The Silver Snakes’ boy and the Purple Parrots’ girl also fall off about halfway across, but everyone else crosses successfully. The Silver Snakes’ boy crosses on his second try, but the Blue Barracudas’ boy and Purple Parrots’ girl hit the drink again. The Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas hit their gongs in that order. “Three teams already—there’s only room for one more!” Kirk observes. The Silver Snakes’ girl makes it across, and hits her team’s gong to end the Moat Crossing, which only takes about twenty seconds.

“That’s it! Four teams!” Kirk exclaims as he rushes over and stands beside the Silver Snakes. “Silver Snakes had trouble staying on there at the beginning, but they held on, and going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes…along with the Orange Iguanas…” Kirk pauses between each team’s name to allow applause. “…and the Green Monkeys…and the Red Jaguars! The Blue Barracudas and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort, too; they’re not goin’ home empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for them, and here’s what it is!” They receive a $50 gift certificate from Pacsun.

Kirk and the remaining four teams are now standing atop the Steps of Knowledge. “As the quest continues, it’s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony. But teams, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend could bring you a step closer to Olmec’s Temple…”

Olmec begins to tell the story:
“One of the greatest women in history was the American suffragist Susan Brownwell Anthony. Born in Massachusetts, Susan was raised in a strict Quaker household, and learned right away that if you want something, you have to work for it. She quit school after a teacher refused to teach her long division simply due to the fact that Susan was female. From then on, she took a firm belief in equal rights, and when she grew older, became one of the premier leaders in the women’s rights movement. She traveled all over the country writing articles, giving lectures, and doing whatever she could to preach her radical thought that women and men had equal rights. One for her biggest struggles was procuring for women the right to vote—but it was far from easy. In 1872, a presidential election was being held in New York. Legend has it that Susan walked up to the voting box and dropped her ballot into it. A nearby police officer saw this, and promptly approached Susan.
“‘Ma’am, I’m afraid I’m going to have to place you under arrest.’
“‘On what charges?’ asked Susan.
“‘For voting in an election,’ replied the officer. ‘You know as well as I do that women can’t vote!’
“‘And why can’t women vote?’ Susan demanded.
“‘Well…’ the officer hesitated. ‘It…it’s the law, that’s why…’
“‘Oh, really?’ said Susan.
“Susan opened the ballot box, took out the ballots inside, and to the shock of those around her, crumpled them all up and tossed them in a nearby garbage can.
“‘That’s what I think of your silly law!’
“The officer arrested Susan and took her to jail, but that didn’t stop Susan. When she was released, she continued to lead the women’s rights movement until the 14th Amendment to the Constitution gave women equal rights as men. Soon after she died, the 19th Amendment was passed, which finally gave women the right to vote. Today, women have just as many rights as men, and Susan B. Anthony is partly to thank for that. One of the ballots she threw away on the day she was arrested has made its way to the Temple. Your quest is to find the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony and bring it back here.”

“Thank you, Olmec,” says Kirk. “But tell us, where is the ballot?”

“The Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony can be found in the Owl’s Nest,” Olmec replies. The camera zooms in on the wadded-up ballot sitting on one of the nests in the room before fading back to Kirk.

“All right,” replies Kirk. “Teams, you’re now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a moment, Olmec’s gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you’re right, you’ll be able to move down to the next level, but if you’re wrong or you run out of time, I’ll give the other teams a chance to answer.” Kirk begins descending the Steps. “The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec’s Temple. Olmec…we’re now ready for your first question.”

Olmec begins:
“Was Susan B. Anthony born in: Maryland, Massachusetts, or New York?”
The Silver Snakes ring in. “Massachusetts…?”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Silver Snakes descend one step.
“Silver Snakes, step down,” Kirk instructs. “Next question, Olmec.”

“Did Susan fight for: women’s rights, animal rights, or—”
The Orange Iguanas ring in. “Uh…women’s rights.”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Orange Iguanas also descend one level.
“But the Orange Iguanas are right on their tail,” Kirk narrates. “Next question, please.”

“Was Susan arrested because she: signed an illegal petition—”
The Green Monkeys ring in. “She, uh…voted in the election…?”
“That…is correct,” Olmec responds. The Green Monkeys join the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes on the second step.
“Now the Green Monkeys have one,” Kirk says. “It’s literally anyone’s ballgame here—next question.”

“According to our legend, when the officer arrested Susan, did she—”
The Green Monkeys ring in early. “Uh…she asked why she was…getting arrested…?”
“That is not one of our three choices,” explains Olmec. “The three choices are: destroy the ballot box, throw the ballots away, or—”
The Silver Snakes ring in. “Throw the ballots away!”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Silver Snakes proceed to the next-to-last step.
“Nice—now the Silver Snakes are just one step away,” Kirk explains. “But remember, we need two teams. Next question.”

“Which amendment to the Constitution gave women equal rights as men: the 13th, the 14th, or the 15th?”
After a few seconds, the Silver Snakes ring in. “The 14th…?”
“That is correct!” Olmec booms. The Silver Snakes leap to the bottom step and high-five one another.
“And there’s our first team for the Temple Games,” Kirk observes. “We need one more. Who’s it gonna be: the Green Monkeys, the Orange Iguanas, or the Red Jaguars? Olmec, continue, please.”

“Which Constitutional amendment gave women the right to vote: the 18th, the 19th, or the 20th?”
The Orange Iguanas ring in. “The 19th!”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Orange Iguanas moved down to the penultimate step.
“Now the Orange Iguanas are just one step away,” Kirk says. “Still time for the other two teams to pull this out—next question.”

“What other prominent suffragist often worked with Susan B. Anthony: Lucy Stone, Mary Wollstonecraft, or Elizabeth Cady Stanton?”
After a few seconds, the Orange Iguanas ring in. “Elizabeth…Cady Stanton?”
“That…is…correct!” Olmec booms. The Orange Iguanas step to the bottom level, where they are congratulated by the Silver Snakes.

“And we’ve got our two teams for the Temple Games!” Kirk cries as he rushes over to stand between them. “It’s the Orange Iguanas, and the Silver Snakes! Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys, come down here, you guys. You guys did great, too, and we’re not sending you empty-handed—home empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for you guys, and here’s what it is!” They receive a package of Nintendo DS Lite games.

Kirk is now seen standing between the two advancing teams. “These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec’s Temple, and they’re gonna do it right after this!”

The camera zooms in on the Orange Iguanas’ torch at the edge of the Moat as the title appears onscreen, and we fade to a commercial.

We return from the break and see Kirk standing in front of the Temple with the two remaining teams.

“Welcome back to Legends: Rebirth,” he says. “Now, the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But first, let’s get to know our two teams…”

“On the Orange Iguanas, we have Natalie—she plays softball and tennis, and she also likes to shop. And her partner is Joe—he likes golf and soccer, and he wants to be a veterinarian. Let’s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!” The audience applauds for the short girl with curly blonde hair and brown eyes and the much taller black-haired boy with blue eyes and freckles.

“And over on the Silver Snakes, this is Melissa—she likes to hike, and she wants to be a film director when she gets older. And her partner is Bret—he plays football and baseball, and he also likes to kayak. Give a hand to the Silver Snakes!” The audience claps for the pretty black-haired girl with bright blue eyes and the tall brown-haired boy with brown eyes.

“All right…are you guys ready?” Kirk asks the teams.

“Yeah!” they reply.

“Well then, go get ready for the Temple Games. Now, in the Temple Games, the teams are competing for…” Kirk retrieves a Pendant of Life from his pouch and holds it up to the camera. “…Pendants of Life. The winning team is gonna need those Pendants to defend themselves from the Temple Guards that reside inside Olmec’s Temple. There are three Temple Games. Olmec, please tell us about the first one…”

“Will do,” Olmec replies. The black lights under Olmec come on and he begins to explain the first Game:

“To preach the message of women’s rights, Susan B. Anthony went all over the country delivering speeches and lectures. In this game, you will be helping to sort Susan’s speeches. When Kirk gives the signal, jump up, grab a speech off the ceiling, come back down and place it in your bin. Then jump back up and do it again. The first player to retrieve all their speeches, or…the player who has the most speeches at the end of thirty seconds…wins.”

“Just be glad you don’t have to memorize ‘em,” Kirk jokes to the players. “Let’s put thirty seconds on the clock, please!” The clock slams down in the bottom middle part of the screen with a loud gong sound effect. “On your mark, get set, GO!”

Natalie and Melissa each develop a pretty good rhythm of jumping up and grabbing the rolled scrolls off the ceiling, but Natalie misses her bin a few times, while Melissa doesn’t miss the bin at all. With about two seconds left on the clock, Melissa grabs the eighth and final speech off the ceiling and drops it in her team’s bin, ending the game.

“Okay, that’s it!” Kirk shouts as he appears back onscreen. “Come down here—the Silver Snakes got all their speeches before time ran out, so the Silver Snakes get the half Pendant of Life!” Kirk pauses as the audience applauds for a few seconds. “The Orange Iguanas are behind for now, but they can catch up in this next game. It’s worth a half Pendant, too—Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #2…”

Olmec begins:
“When the 14th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, women everywhere rejoiced, and church bells rang out all across the country. In this game, you’ll also be ringing a church bell. Before you stands a stone wall, and at the top, a large bell. When Kirk gives the signal, begin climbing the wall by pushing in the stones to create handholds and footholds. Then push in more stones and continue climbing. Once you reach the top, grab the clapper and ring the bell, riding it back down. The first player to land, or…the player that’s further along at the end of sixty seconds…wins.”

“Can you hear the bells ringing?” Kirk asks. “Well, not yet—we haven’t rung ‘em yet. Let’s put sixty seconds on the clock!” The clock appears in the bottom right-hand corner, set for sixty seconds this time. “On your mark, get set, GO!”

Joe and Bret each begin climbing the wall. They both get about halfway up the wall with about 38 seconds to go, but Joe hits a roadblock when he can’t find a handhold to advance any further. Bret takes a considerable lead and almost reaches the top with 22 seconds left. Joe finally finds a brick that pushes in to make a handhold, but by then, it’s too late, as Bret grabs the clapper and rides it back down. A loud church bell sound is heard with 17 seconds left on the clock.

“Okay, they got it!” Kirk exclaims as he appears back onscreen. “The Silver Snakes rode their bell down first, so the Silver Snakes get the half Pendant of Life!” The audience applauds briefly. “So now, the Silver Snakes have one full Pendant; the Orange Iguanas don’t have any yet. But now, we go to the third and final Temple Game. It’s worth one full Pendant of Life. Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #3…”

Olmec begins to explain the final Game:
“Even though Susan died before the 19th Amendment was ratified, she did live to see the 14th Amendment come to fruition. In this game, you’ll be clearing the way for the 19th Amendment to be ratified. Before you stands a wall with the four Constitutional Amendments that were ratified between the 14th and the 19th. When Kirk gives the signal, one player from each team will load their slingshot and shoot a ball up to their teammate on the wall, who will then catch the ball and place it on the 15th Amendment. Then, climb up to the 16th Amendment. The first team to clear all four amendments, or…the team that clears the most amendments at the end of sixty seconds wins!”

“This is for the Temple,” Kirk explains. “Let’s put sixty seconds on the clock!” The clock slams down in the bottom corner, ready to go. “All right—I’ll just get out of the way here. Ready, aim, FIRE!”

Both teams’ male members fail to catch the first ball fired to them, but they both catch a ball on their second try and stick it on the spot marked “15th” with 53 seconds left. The Silver Snakes manage to cover “16th” on their next shot, but the Orange Iguanas need two attempts to cover the same area. No one scores until about 28 seconds remain, when the Silver Snakes successfully clear the spot marked “17th”. With about nine seconds remaining, Joe catches a ball and covers “17th” to tie it up. Only a few seconds later, Bret catches a ball of his own and covers “18th”, winning the game.

“All right, that’s it!” Kirk says as he rushes back onscreen. “That’s it—come down here, guys. They both tried hard in that one, but the Silver Snakes covered all four amendments first, so they get the full Pendant of Life, giving them two; the Orange Iguanas don’t have any—the Silver Snakes are goin’ to the Temple!” Bret and Melissa high-five and hug one another as the Orange Iguanas applaud politely. “Orange Iguanas, you guys were great, too; you were up against a tough team. We’re not sending you guys away empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for you, and here it is!” They receive a backpack from Outdoor Products.

As the prize disappears off-screen, Kirk is seen standing beside the winning team. “Now we’ll see if the Silver Snakes can make it through Olmec’s Temple; retrieve the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony—right after this!”

The camera pans in on the Ancient Cave and zooms in on one of the “cavemen” painted on the back wall as the title appears onscreen, and we fade to a commercial.

We return from the break and find Kirk standing in front of the Temple with the winning team.

“Welcome back to Legends: Rebirth,” he says. “The Silver Snakes have proven themselves worthy, and now have earned the right to enter Olmec’s Temple. But first, Olmec’s gonna give them some information to help them retrieve the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony…”

Olmec begins to explain the layout as the camera gives us a first-person tour of the Temple:
“You could start…by running up the stairs to the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Rope Labyrinth! Maneuver through the ropes, and climb into the Sculptor’s Studio. Smash the hollow sculptures to find the key that will lead you into the Chamber…of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right to those on the left, and pass into the Inventor’s Workshop. Spin the wheel to operate the machine, and open the door to the SHRIIIINE of the Silver Monkey! Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Room…of the Secret Password. Find the tablet with the correct inscription and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh’s Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Dungeon, where you could smash through the wall into the Dark Forest…but beware of the Temple Guards that may inhabit the trees! Find the key in the tree, and you’ll enter…the Ancient Cave. Press yourself against the correct cave painting, and you’ll gain entry to the Owl’s Nest! Find the special white owl, and attach it to its proper nest, then…crawl through the Labyrinth, climb through the Ledges, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours alone!” Olmec pauses. “You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games. Who’s going first?”

“I am,” says Melissa, raising her hand.

“Very well, Melissa,” Olmec replies. “When Kirk gives the signal, you’ll race through the Gates into the Temple and make your way toward the Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony. Hidden inside the Temple are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but…if you’re caught without a Pendant, you’ll be taken out of the Temple, and it’ll be Bret’s turn to enter and try his luck. If you can reach the Crumpled Ballot, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the Gates with the Crumpled Ballot in three minutes, and you’ll both be handsomely rewarded…and here’s how!”

• Just for making it this far, they’ll get a game table.
• If they can grab the Crumpled Ballot within three minutes, they’ll also receive a Nintendo Wii, complete with three new games.
• And if they can bring the Crumpled Ballot out of the Temple before three minutes expires, they’ll win a trip to Montréal, Quebec.

“Montreal—sounds like a great trip,” Kirk says. “Let’s see if they can win it. Melissa, let’s get you out in front…let’s set the clock for three minutes!” The clock slams down in the bottom corner, ready to go.

“Olmec, lower your gate, please.” Olmec moans gutturally as the gate is lowered, and the black lights under him go out.

“Are we ready?” Kirk asks Melissa.

“Mm-hm,” Melissa replies.

“On your mark,” Kirk begins, “get set, GO!”

“There she goes, up into the Temple with two Pendants!” Kirk narrates via voice-over as Melissa darts up the stairs. She enters the Crypt, where she pulls all three books in the room before the door to the Rope Labyrinth opens. The secret door at the back of the room also opens, revealing the first TEMPLE GUARD (2:51). “Oh—first Temple Guard, right away!” Kirk narrates as Melissa hands her Pendant over. “There are two more Temple Guards somewhere in the Temple—can she avoid them?” Melissa enters the Rope Labyrinth and begins making her way through the tangle of thick ropes to the other side of the room. After getting her feet tangled in the ropes about halfway through, she makes it to the other side, where she hits the actuator for the Chamber of the Sacred Markers. The door opens, so Melissa enters the room (2:31), where she gets to work finding the missing tiles. She finds two on the stage-left wall and looks around for a few seconds more before finding the third on the opposite wall. She correctly places the symbols, opening the door upward to the Sculptor’s Studio (2:14). “All right, that door takes her into the Sculptor’s Studio!” Kirk narrates as Melissa begins climbing the ladder. “She’s making great time, but Bret might have to take over at any moment!” Melissa enters the room, takes the rightmost sculpture, and smashes it on the floor. Nothing’s inside, so she takes the middle sculpture and smashes it, where she finds the key. She inserts the key into the rightmost pedestal, and the door to the Inventor’s Workshop opens (1:54). Melissa rushes into the room, but the second TEMPLE GUARD is waiting for her (1:50).

“Oh, second Temple Guard! Now it’s Bret’s turn!” Kirk narrates as Bret takes off, disappearing behind Olmec in no time. Bret follows Melissa’s path exactly, but bypasses the Sculptor’s Studio to enter the Inventor’s Workshop from the now-open door in the Chamber. When he enters the room (1:39), he goes to work turning the capstan in the middle of the room, making four complete rotations of the wheel before the door opens to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey (1:27). “All right—now, on to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey!” the Kirk voice-over narrates. Bret enters the room, heads to the back, and grabs all three pieces of the monkey statue. He brings them back to the front of the room, where he places the base (1:11), the middle (1:07), and jams the head down, opening the door to the Room of the Secret Password (1:02). “Okay, he got it!” the voice-over exclaims. “Now he’s headed to the Room of the Secret Password—which password will be the correct one?” Bret opens the leftmost cabinet in the room, takes out the tablet, pulls out his mouthpiece, and screams “Long live Olmec!” Nothing happens, so Bret opens the cabinet in the back of the room and takes out that tablet. “Dr. Livingstone, I presume!” he shouts, but again, nothing happens. He opens the final cabinet, pulls out the tablet and shouts “Open sesame!” which opens the door to the Pharaoh’s Secret Passage (0:32). “All right—three passwords down, and he opens the Pharaoh’s Secret Passage!” Kirk says via voice-over as Bret climbs down the Passage and begins to enter the Dungeon. He starts to make his way over to the wall before the third TEMPLE GUARD emerges from the shadows (0:24). “Oh, there’s the last Temple Guard!” Kirk laments as Bret reaches for his Pendant. “But the good news is that’s the last one!” Bret hands his Pendant over and crashes through the wall into the Dark Forest (0:15). He reaches into the stage-left tree, coming out with a key almost instantly. He inserts it into the hole next to the door on the right-hand side of the room, which opens into the Ancient Cave (0:08). “Oh, eight seconds left as he enters the Ancient Cave!” the voice-over narrates. “Is he gonna make it?” Bret aligns his body on the stage-left cave painting, but nothing happens (0:03). He starts to head to the middle painting, but time expires before he can align himself with it.

“Nooo!” Kirk laments. “He ran out of time! He was this close to getting that Ballot! He had to go all the way around, and he came up just a little short! That’s okay, though, I know they had a great time, and they still both get the game tables for playing. Unfortunately, though, we’ve gotta get out of here. We’ll see you next time, and just remember: it’s not just Legends, it’s Legends: Rebirth! Buh-bye, everybody!”

Kirk and Melissa chat as the credits start to roll. The camera shows a contestant’s-eye view of several rooms in the Temple, including the Chamber of the Sacred Markers and the Inventor’s Workshop. Bret exits the Temple, and he, Kirk and Melissa talk and comfort one another as the credits finish rolling, and the Stone Stanley logo appears onscreen.

The Crumpled Ballot of Susan B. Anthony
Season 1, Layout 4
Artifact Location
: The Owl’s Nest
Team: Silver Snakes (Melissa Vega & Bret Cleveland)
Pendants: 2
Result: Ran out of time

This episode was pretty ho-hum up until the Temple Run. The Moat was over very quickly, the Steps of Knowledge had a predictable legend and featured one team sweeping out the other three, and the Temple Games were pretty boring. The Temple Run, on the other hand, was quite exciting.

Melissa was pretty fast, and she knew what she was doing. She was aware that the direct path to the artifact wasn’t going to work, so she took the long way around right from the start, completing the room objectives fairly quickly. She was taken out in the Inventor’s Workshop with a healthy 1:50 left on the clock.

Bret was an even better player than Melissa. He only took about nineteen seconds to reach where Melissa had been taken out, and he smartly avoided going into the Sculptor’s Studio. Unfortunately for him, he had to take the longest path possible to the artifact, progressing through a whopping five more rooms before reaching the artifact. He also had horrible luck in both the Room of the Secret Password and the Ancient Cave. But for someone who had to progress through as many rooms as he did, he did amazingly—time ran out on him just before he was about to try the third cave painting in the Ancient Cave, which would have opened the door to the Owl’s Nest, allowing him to finally grab the Crumpled Ballot.

This Temple Run gets my vote for the most difficult in Rebirth’s history, and possibly in all of Legends history. At least this team made it look exciting, and they came so close to reaching the artifact.

Rating: 7 out of 10

Notes and Trivia: At only twenty seconds, this episode has one of the shortest Moat Crossings ever.

This episode’s Temple Run is completely voiced over by Kirk. The episode also has no audience, which is apparent during the Steps of Knowledge and the second Temple Game.

Bret holds the record for passing through the most rooms in the Temple (ten) without reaching an artifact.

The production crew still feels evil from time to time, I see... :)
