Rate the Temple Layout - Day 35: The Pendant of Kamehameha

I also gave it a 5. Not a hard layout at all. I don't think.... I don't even feel like talking about them.

Day Seventeen- "The Two-Cornered Hat of Napoleon"
Artifact Location - King's Storeroom
Players - Carly and Brian

Temple Guard Locations - Crypt, Laser Light Room, Swamp

I gave the Two-Cornered Hat layout a 7. Brian and Carly should've won their temple layout, but it was not THAT easy. Unlike  Enormous Iron Nose Ring or Jeweled Necklace, there was no chance at a solo victory. Furthermore, it is also possible that the Mine Shaft-Shrine door really was locked during this run. I mean Carly never tried the door completely, but whose to say that it would've actually opened? This layout was not a cakewalk by any means and the team handled it very well.

I gave Napoleon a 6. Not a hard layout at all, and I'm completely convinced that the Mine Shaft/Shrine door would've opened.

Two-Cornered Hat finishes with a 6.67 score.

Next up is Taylor and Rachelle from Attila the Hun.

Day Nineteen- "The Golden Goblet of Attila the Hun"
Artifact Location - Mine Shaft
Players - Rachelle and Taylor
Rooms Entered - 8
Temple Guard Locations - Medusa's Lair

Attila the Hun gets an 8 for Rachelle's layout. This layout was pretty long even though Rachelle never took a direct path. She had to enter some of the most time consuming rooms of Season 2. And who knows if the Mine Shaft would've opened for her? She could've been forced into the Room of Secret Password and get taken out by a one room away guard. Altough this layout certainly wasn't impossible. She would've had more success if she moved faster. But still, even a team like Atocha would probably not even win with this layout.

I also gave the layout an 8. Tough layout, since Rachelle had to switch floors three times. But, she still could've moved faster.

I thought for sure that Rachelle would've had an easier path if she went down to the Laser Light Room from the Pit.But I was wrong because that door did not open from the Pit. She could've only avoided the Observatory at best during her run. And it was possible that either the Dark Forest or Secret Password held the last guard. But if she moved faster, then Taylor might've had a chance to enter.

I must seriously be the only person who thinks one of the temple guards was in the Room of the Secret Password. And NOT the Dark Forest like most people here love to claim. It literally makes no sense to station a guard in the Dark Forest. It's just a dead end room, where there would be no point in even going in there. Did the door to the Dark Forest even open at all at the end of the temple run? I don't think the Mine Shaft door did either.

Rachelle never actually completed the Silver Monkey at all. She never put the head on the right way and just gave up after time ran out. But yeah, I don't think the Dark Forest makes sense for the last guard. I think the other two guards were in the Ledges and Secret Password. The Dark Forest would only make sense for runs like "Imperial Purple Robe" where the wall never broke down. I also don't think that Rachelle would've been given access to the Mine Shaft after assembling the Monkey..

Yeah, I figured Rachelle never actually completed the monkey. And some have claimed before that the Mine Shaft door did open. Whatever they got that from. This layout was pretty hard, so I doubt she would've been given direct access.

Yeah, if she was allowed to enter the Mine Shaft directly from the Shrine, then that last guard would've been utterly useless in the Secret Password. No competent contestant would add an extra room to their layout. But then again, Kim made that stupid mistake during the Charles Lindbergh run.

Attila the Hun finishes with an even 8.00.

Day Twenty - "The Golden Cup of Belshazzar"
Artifact Location - Shrine of the Silver Monkey
Players - Katherine and Ron
Rooms Entered - 6
Temple Guard Locations - Cave of Sighs, Treasure Room

I gave the Belshazzar layout a 10. Why? Because the whole layout was just screwed up and Katherine and Ron got shafted big time. It doesn't matter how easy this layout would've been if no production errors happened, there was no team going to win this one. First off, Katherine hit a dead end in the Room of Harmonic Convergence. So she was forced to backtrack from three rooms and take a different route. And in the Treasure Room, she hits another dead end AND is taken out in the temple. And when Sean enters the temple, there is no where to go because nothing opened (Maybe the Treasure Chest did?) Long story short, the Red Jaguars were a good team that got caught up in a brutal layout. Not even a great team like "Map to the Lost Gold Mine" and "Lawrence of Arabia" would've won because this whole layout was F'd up. These two deserved a second chance, easily and this was one of the most unfair layouts on the show.
