Welcome to the Legends of the Hidden Temple "Best Legends win" tournament. In this tournament, we are trying to figure out the best win in the history of Legends. Every day I will hold a series of different matchups that will feature two wins on the show. Your job is to pick what episode you believe is the better of the two. After 24 hours. the episode with the most vote will proceed onto the next round.

RULES:
- Each matchup will be open for a total of 24 hours. Once that window of time is up, the winner of the poll will be revealed.
- You are allowed to change your vote anytime during the 24 hour window. But the last vote before time is up is the one that will be final.
- All you have to simply do is select which of the two wins that you feel deserves to progress longer.
- You don't have to reveal your vote to the public, that is only optional. Your vote will be confidential until the 24 hour time frame is up.
- Please vote in the poll! The more people that vote, the more fun this tournament will be. All it takes is less than 30 seconds to vote.
- Have fun

In yesterday's matchup, "The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata" beat "The Lion-Headed Bracelet of Chandragupta" 6-0. That means "Emiliano Zapata" will advance to the next round.

***FEATURED MATCHUP***

"THE LOST HORNPIPE OF THE PIRATE CAPTAIN"

VS.

"THE MASK OF SHAKA ZULU"

Today we have a matchup involving two episode with two extreme type of wins. One episode featured one of the best teams on the show while the other episode featured the fastest temple win with the lowest amount of rooms entered enroute to the artifact. With that in mind, my vote goes to "The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain" EASILY. IMO, "Shaka Zulu" is one of my least favorite wins on the show. Bobby is such an overrated contestant and there is no reason that it should've taken almost half of the alloted temple run time in order to bring the Mask back to the temple gate. I don't think he would've even won if he was forced to take the long way. Its possible he almost cheated in the temple! Either way, its such an undeserving and boring win.

And the "Pirate Captain" win is one of the best on the show, Jarrid ad Jessica just kicked major ass in the temple. This win should be eligible for the finals.

EDIT: I didn't mean to make it in the Heart Room.

"THE LION-HEADED BRACELET OF CHANDRAGUPTA"

VS.

"THE APPLEWOOD AMULET OF EMILIANO ZAPATA"

For my vote, I went with "The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata". Quite frankly, these are both solid Green Monkey wins. But I always felt that the "Emiliano Zapata" win was more exciting and the ending is just fun to watch all the time.  The layout may have been simple and the team might've made some mistakes, but it is still exciting and you can never get tired of watching it. I enjoy "Chandragupta" also, but there is something more about the one second win that grabs me. Don't get me wrong, Andrea was an enthusiastic and enjoyable to watch in the temple too, but I like the latter win for the exciting one second victory.

In "Henry VIII's Great Seal", we know that Nick jumped out of the temple in the Tomb of the Ancient Kings due to being scared of the temple guard. Nick only had a half-pendant with him though, so the run would've ended there for him either way. But what if Nick had a full pendant instead?

I have read several posts on here and Youtube that suggests that Nick would've been disqualified had he jumped out of the temple with a full pendant. In my opinion, I don't see how this warrants a disquaification at all. I mean he was not cheating in anyway and it was an honest mistake and he probably got scared really bad by the temple guard. I mean look at Tim in "Alexander and the Gordian Knot" who jumped out of the temple after seeing a temple guard in the same room. And Leah from "The Star of Sultan Saladin" also fell down when she met a guard there. I think they would've just edited the run had Nick actually jumped out of the temple. I see no reason for him to be disqualified.

What do you think would've happened if Nick jumpd out of the temple with a full pendant?

The Dark Forest / Legend of Zelda Discussion Topic
« on: July 10, 2012, 02:29:50 PM »
Perhaps this thread was long overdue since we have a discussion topic for other series like "Pokemon". And since there are quite a few Zelda fans on this forum, we could probably have a good discussion in this topic.

Anyways, after all this topic about OoT in the Main Spam topic, I had the urge to go back and play.  :mrred: Luckily, I still have my copy of OoT for the Virtual Console on the Wii.

At the moment, I am collecting all the items I need to enter the Great Deku Tree. I already got the Deku Shield and now I just need the Deku Sword or whatever it is called. Replaying this game reminds me of how big of a douche Mido was.

The Heart Room / Biggest fails on Legends?
« on: June 19, 2012, 11:36:42 PM »
What are some of the biggest fails in the entire show's three year tenure? I know we have talked about various Legends fails in other threads on the site, but not in one topic that is a collaboration with the biggest fails on the show. I am thinking about making a video that showcases the top 25 biggest Legends fails on the show. Obviously there are a lot of fails on the show, but I want to try and capture the biggest fails of all time.

Here are some of the biggest fails that I am thinking about:

- The entire "The Golden Cricket Cricket Cage" temple run.
- The Steps of Knowledge for "The Trojan Horseshoe" with all the bad answers.
- "Um, a Scaffolding?" from "The Missing Eye of David"
- Ron the cheater in "The Treasure of Anne Bonny"
- Kim's entire time in the temple in "The Missing Weather Maps of Charles Lindbergh"
- The Silver Snakes from "The Snow Cone of Mount Kilimanjaro"

Feel free to post more. ;)

The Heart Room / Favorite bottom of the central shaft room?
« on: June 14, 2012, 09:02:53 PM »
What was your favorite bottom of the central shaft room and how would you rank them? Here is how I will rank the bottom of the central rooms:

1. Laser Light Room - This was definitely the best room in the bottom of the central shaft. It had some good memorable moments and temple guard encounters. The objective was time consuming and at the same time it was not overwhelming either.

2. Room of Harmonic Convergence - I know some people dislike this room, but I thought this was an interesting room. It actually added a challenge to season one. This room required the contestants to focus and remember the step combinations they used, or otherwise they would repeat certain combinations. Too bad this room seemed like it was broken half of the times.

3. Tomb of the Headless Kings - This room was probably the most time consuming out of all the rooms in that room space, but I honestly never liked it. It seemed like there was always a temple guard encounter down there and the contestants wasted too much time in that room pulling on the vines and finding the skull. Plus, it was dark and cramped in there.

4. Throne Room - This room is pretty lame, no matter was season it was. The first season one was just a giant seat the contestants had to sit on while the second season one was just the same thing, except it spun around. Overall, I never really liked this room.

So what is your favorite bottom of the central shaft room? You don't have to rank them, that is totally optional.

The Heart Room / What episode does this Legends prop appear in?
« on: May 19, 2012, 02:07:49 AM »
In Figure It Out, we know that they gave props from the Legends of the Hidden Temple's set to the contestants. Some of the props included temple game and temple room pieces. However, there is this one prop I never seen once used on the show. Now, I remember noticing this back during the Nick GAS days but never brought it up. But now I am interested on where in the show was this prop from? I don't recall ever seeing this sign.  :?:  :o

The Heart Room / Youngest and oldest contestants on the show?
« on: May 16, 2012, 10:37:52 PM »
We all know that the average age limit of the contestants on the show was usually 12-14. There were times where though that some episodes had a contestant that was 11 or some that were as old as 15. What episodes featured some of the oldest and youngest contestants on the show?

One example of an old contestant was Joel in "The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe", who was 15.

Another example of a 15-year old was Shawn in "The Trojan Horseshoe". Its funny that both of these contestants are older than the usual contestants and won in the temple. I guess the older contestants were a little more competent due to being mature.

On the other side, there were many 11-year olds on the show I suppose. One that comes to mind is our very own Tia from the infamous "Cricket Cage" episode. I am sure there are more out there.

So what are some other young or old contestants?

The Temple Games / All Time Worst Temple Run Elimination Thread
« on: May 16, 2012, 06:48:55 AM »
Welcome to the the All Time Worst Temple Run Elimination Thread! In this thread, we are taking the bottom 15 temple runs from each season and determining the best temple runs on the show. You guys helped make the top 15 list from each season by voting on which ones deserved to be in the final list. And now that we finished all three seasons, we can determine the worst temple runs on the show!

RULES:
- You can eliminate a temple run twice a day. Please try to keep your vote far apart and don't do them too close too each other (like voting an hour after your first vote.)
- Once a temple run is eliminated from the list, you cannot bring it back and it will be gone for good.
- Once we get to 15 runs remaining, we will start ranking them.
- Once we get to the last two runs, then we will vote on which one wins this thread.
- Have fun!

I will start off by getting rid of "Wild Bill Hickok and the Dead Man's Hand". That episode CLEARLY does not belong with the episodes remaining on this list. Sure, the team hardly made any progress. But the episode was clearly the second or third temple run on the show that the producers were probably still testing things out. And the team was not bad, they got stuck up in an unusual layout. I just feel they don't belong in a "worst temple run" thread in the first place.

The Dark Forest / The NFL Football topic
« on: May 13, 2012, 01:47:52 AM »
Okay, football is a long ways away. But there will be a lot going on during the off-season that I am sure we can talk about in this topic. This will keep the Main Spam topic free of this discussion when others might not want to hear it.

The Ravens playoff status doesn't look so good next season with Terrel Suggs going out with an Achilles tendon tear. He will be out for the whole season. I think the Ravens can still make the playoffs without him, but there schedule is hard.

And I am tired of hearing about the Jets quarterback problem.

Here is the season 3 version of this thread. Like the previous two, we will try to find the bottom 15 runs of season three. Once we get the final 15 runs, then we will hold a "Worst Temple run ever" thread with the worst 15 runs from each of the threads.

- Once a temple run is eliminated from the list, you cannot bring it back and it will be gone for good.
- Once we get to 15 runs remaining, we will start ranking them. The final 15 runs will be used later for a compilation of worst runs of each season.
- Once we get to the last two runs, then we will vote on which one wins this thread.
- Have fun!

I am going to start this one off by getting rid of one of my personal favorites - "The Jeweled-Encrusted Egg of Catherine the Great". This was a great temple run that ended off one of my all time favorite game shows. Both Kris and Kristen were fast contestants, and they ended the show in a memorable fashion.
