Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs to the camera-right of Alan and Jessie. "Welcome back to Legends," he says to the camera. "The Silver Snakes have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter the Temple. But first, Olmec?s gonna give them some information to help them find the Navigation Plans of Francis Drake."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Great Chasm. Crawl through the pit, then race into the Crystal Cave. Pull down the correct stalactite, and you could choose to go up into the Cathedral, where you can grab the Navigation Plans? or, you might venture into the Junction of the Secret Shafts. If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno. Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Dungeon.
?Then, climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage into the Geographer?s Study. Take the correct book off the bookshelf to open the door to the SHRIIIIIIiiine? of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks. Place the sword in the correct sheath, and you could advance into the Laser Light Room. Find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and swing on the rope back across the Great Chasm. Then, pass through the Arctic Antechamber, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate. The choices are yours and yours alone.? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first??
"I am," says Jessie.
"Very well, Jessie!" Olmec replies, while Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Navigation Plans of Sir Francis Drake. Hidden inside the Temple are ventilation shafts? three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on BUT if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and it'll be Alan's turn to enter and try his luck. If you can reach the Plans, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the Navigation Plans in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
? For just getting into the Temple, they?re both going to get a pair of Rollerblades.
? If they can reach the Map within three minutes, they?re also going to get an Ultra-Bounce trampoline provided by Bollinger.
? And if they can get the Maps out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be going to the Bahamas! "Time to see if the Silver Snakes can make it to the Bahamas," Kirk tells the camera before turning to Alan. "So, Alan: How're you gonna get to the Navigation Plans?"
"Um?" Alan begins to explain, "we're gonna try to go through the room up there?" he points to the Arctic Antechamber? "across the Pit and try the door? just in case we get lucky. But if that doesn't work, we're going up into the King's Storeroom and around that way."
"All right," Kirk says before turning to Jessie. "Well, we're about to see if that works out here. Jessie, let's get you out in front. Put your mouthpieces in, and put three minutes on the clock." The clock appears onscreen. "Olmec, lower your gate!"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the blue lights under him are turned off.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"
Jessie runs up the stairs of the Temple into the Arctic Antechamber. ?There goes Jessie, with two Pendants!? Kirk begins the commentary as she sets foot in the room and begins to break down the ice walls by walking through them. After breaking down one, the door into the Great Chasm opens, and Jessie moves on with 2:44 on the clock. She swings across the gap using the rope; when she lands on the other ledge, she hits the actuator for the Cathedral, but the door doesn?t open. She then tries the actuator for the Laser Light Room, but again, the door doesn?t open, so she drops down off the ledge and hits the actuator for the Crystal Cave, which does open (2:28). She passes through into the next room, but out from the corner of the room jumps the first TEMPLE GUARD!
?Woah! Temple Guard! That scared her, scared me!? Kirk remarks as Jessie jumps back, startled. She composes herself and gives up her Pendant of Life with 2:16 remaining, then goes to complete the objective. ?Good, now she?s gotta pull down the icicles!? Jessie looks up at the stalactites on the ceiling and pulls down each stalactite with two hands, starting with the one right of the ladder and moving around the front of the ladder. The stalactite behind the ladder? the last one she pulls down? opens the door into the Junction of the Secret Shafts. Jessie crawls through with 1:58 on the clock, but as she starts to go across the room, out comes the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?There, she?s outta there! Go Alan!? shouts Kirk as Jessie is grabbed, and Alan runs into the Temple (1:54). He runs through the Arctic Antechamber, jumps down into the Great Chasm, passes through the Crystal Cave and enters the Junction of the Secret Shafts with 1:31 on the clock. Alan heads across the room and hits the actuator for the crawl tube closer to the front of the room, but when he tries to crawl through, the door doesn?t open. He crawls back out and then hits the actuator for the crawl tube in the back of the room. This time it opens, and he enters the Switch Inferno with 1:15 to go. Alan looks around for a few seconds. ?He could hit the buttons to go up or he could bust through the wall!? Alan decides to plow through the stone wall into the Dungeon, entering the room with 1:07 left. He reaches for the ladder on the side wall to try and reach the Shrine door, but before he can start climbing, out comes the third TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh! That?s it? No, he?s got a Pendant!? remarks Kirk. Alan hands over his Pendant of Life with 58 seconds left, then climbs up the far side of the ladder to try to the Shrine door. ?Temple Guards all out of the way, that?s good.? Alan reaches for the actuator for the door, trying to snake through the ladder (0:51). When that doesn?t work, he moves around to the side of the ladder closer to the door (0:45) and hits the actuator for the door. He finally sets foot in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with forty seconds remaining.
?All right, he?s into the Shriiiiine of the SIIIIIL-ver Monkey!? Kirk shouts as Alan gets up and moves for the parts of the statue, grabbing them one at a time and putting them in the proper positions with little trouble. ?He?s trying to catch up, I like his style! Thirty seconds!? He puts the head in and jams it down with 21 seconds on the clock, and passes into the Knights? Barracks. Once there, he takes the sword from the railing in the front of the room and puts it in the stage-right sheath. It happens to be a lucky guess, as the door into the Cathedral opens with eleven seconds to go, and Alan crawls through. ?There, he?s in the room! Grab the Map! Get the Map!? Alan heads straight to the front of the room, and with seven seconds remaining, he grabs the NAVIGATION PLANS!
?HE?S GOT ?EM! All the doors are open!? Kirk announces as Alan leaves the Cathedral through the newly-open door into the Great Chasm. He reaches out for the rope and swings across the pit? but we?re out of time!
?Oh, that?s it! Time?s up!? explains Kirk. ?They gave it a great effort, though, and they got the Navigation Plans of Sir Francis Drake, so they get the Rollerblades and the trampoline. Did that Temple Guard scare you?? He holds the microphone up to Jessie?s mouth.
?Yeah, he did,? she smiles.
