When the camera fades in from commercial, the show?s title card is placed over a shot of the torch protruding from the left wall of the Pirate?s Cove. The pendant logo splits, the title fades into the distance and the camera segues to Kirk standing in front of the Pit of Despair with the two remaining teams.
?Welcome back to Legends!? he says. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s get to know our two teams.? He turns to the left side of the screen to talk to the Orange Iguanas, starting with a green-eyed girl with freckles and her blond hair in a ponytail. ?On the Orange Iguanas, we have Erin. How old are you??
?Thirteen,? she answers.
?And I understand you like to read and you run track, but you wanna be Miss USA someday,? Kirk reads off the index card in his hand. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well, my parents put me in beauty pageants when I was little,? explains Erin, ?and it was pretty fun? I think I wanna try a bigger pageant when I?m older.?
?All right, well good luck,? Kirk comments before moving to the left extreme of the screen to interview a slightly overweight boy with short brown hair and hazel eyes. ?And also on the Orange Iguanas, we have Jared. How old are you??
?Thirteen,? he answers.
?And it says here you?re into skateboarding and rock climbing,? Kirk reads. ?Which do you like better??
?Prob?ly? rock climbing.?
?And how?d you get into that??
?Well,? Jared explains, ?I guess I got it from my dad and my older brother, they do a lot of hiking and mountain climbing and stuff so I? kinda joined them.?
?Sounds cool,? Kirk replies. ?We got a determined team, so let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!? The audience applauds for a few seconds, and Kirk turns around to talk with the girl on the Red Jaguars, who has hazel eyes and long, straight auburn hair. ?And on the Red Jaguars, we have Kelsey. How old are you??
?Thirteen,? she replies.
?And it says here you play basketball and you want to be a model,? Kirk says. ?Why?s that??
?Um?? Kelsey thinks for a second, ?a lot of people tell me I look good or I should be one, and other than that? it sounds like it?ll be cool.?
?And that?s good reason to try it,? replies Kirk with a chuckle. He then moves to the right extreme of the screen to talk to the slightly-taller-than-average, brown-eyed, curly-haired blond that is Kelsey?s partner. ?And Mark, how old are you??
?Fourteen.?
?And I hear you play soccer and you like to skateboard too,? reads Kirk. ?Which is your favorite??
?Skateboarding? I?ve been doing that for six years.?
?What?s your best trick??
?Prob?ly a 900? I had to work real hard to master that,? Mark laughs.
?We got a tough team here,? Kirk says, moving back toward the center of the screen. ?Let?s hear it for the Red Jaguars!? Mark and Kelsey applaud along with the cheering audience.
"You guys ready to play?" asks Kirk.
"YEAH!" The players all shout in unison as a response.
"Hey, that was pretty good!" Kirk laughs. "Okay, so girls, go get set up for the first Temple Game over there?" he points to an indefinite spot off the left side of the camera, and Kelsey and Erin start to walk off? "and you guys can go set up for the second Temple Game? over there." When Kirk points off to the right somewhere, Jared and Mark follow his gesture and walk offscreen in that direction. Kirk then turns back towards the camera. "In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life. The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple. There are three Temple Games. Olmec, will you tell us about Temple Game #1?"
Olmec begins:
"Mozart is one of the greatest composers who ever lived, but he was always working on writing new music. At the top of the tower in front of you are four of Mozart's music books. When Kirk gives the signal, climb the tower, grab a music book, stick it to your helmet, and climb back down and place it in your bin. Then, climb back up and do it again.
"The first player to remove all four music books from the top of the tower? or the player that's further along in 60 seconds? wins."
The camera segues over to Kirk. "Let's set the clock for 60 seconds," he remarks, and a countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner with a banging sound as he takes a few steps offscreen. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
The girls start working their ways up the poles in front of them, but Erin gets off to a noticeably easier start. She gets the first music book stuck to her helmet with 52 seconds left, just before Kelsey even reaches the top of the pole. She takes a while to stick the first book to her helmet, but gets it with 46 seconds to go? right before Erin places the first book in the Orange Iguanas? bin. ?Orange Iguanas got their first book, and now she?s going back for another!? On the second trip up, however, both players slow down considerably, and Kelsey even loses grip on the pole as she reaches up for the second music book. Erin holds onto her lead and sticks the second music book to her helmet with 27 seconds to spare as Kelsey tries to swing back toward the pole and get back on track.
?Orange Iguanas are blazing!? Kirk remarks as Erin shinnies down the pole and places her second book in the team bin a few seconds after getting it on her helmet. Just before Erin starts back up, Kelsey makes it back to the pole and sticks the Jaguars? second book to her helmet (:21). She picks up speed as she shinnies down her pole and places her second book in the bin with fifteen seconds to go, slightly closing the gap between the two players; Erin starts down with the third book stuck to her helmet at the :12 mark. ?Orange Jaguars trying to get one more? can they get it in time?? Kelsey catches up with eight seconds left by getting the third music book to attach to her helmet, but Erin gets her third book in the bin just a few seconds later. ?Orange Iguanas need one more to win? but can the Red Jaguars tie it up?? Kelsey tries to scramble down the pole as fast as possible, but time runs out a second before she can get the third book in her bin, as indicated by a pattern of ceiling spotlights. Kirk runs over to count up the scores and declare a winner, and grabs the two players? bins.
?All right, c?mon down girls, let?s check it out!? he calls as he brings the two bins together. ?Red Jaguars got?? he pulls each of the books out one at a time as he counts? ?that one didn?t make it in time? one? two books. Orange Iguanas got one, two? three books! Orange Iguanas get a half a Pendant of Life!? The audience cheers for Erin as Kirk goes over to where Kelsey is. ?Red Jaguars can catch up in the next game, it?s worth a half-Pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.?
Olmec continues:
"As much as Mozart liked to write or play music, he also liked to dance to it, and in this game, you'll need to show some fancy footwork as well. When Kirk gives the signal, the bridge before you will begin to spin. Hold on tight, but get to the top as fast as you can. If you fall off, you'll have to pull yourself back onto the track. When you reach the top, grab the mask there, then come back down.
"The first player to grab the mask and come back down? or the player that's further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins."
"Our players are gonna be dancing in a circle here? I hope they're ready for that," Kirk remarks. "Let's put 60 seconds on the clock?" The countdown clock reappears onscreen in the bottom-right corner, and an orange half-Pendant appears in the upper-left corner as Kirk takes a few steps back to get out of the camera frame. "This is for a half-Pendant. On your marks, get set, GO!"
Jared and Mark start to make their ways up the spiral bridges, which each move in opposite directions? Jared?s consists of two full counterclockwise rotations from the starting point, but the platform on which its stands spins clockwise; Mark?s is vice versa. Working with no railings, Mark progresses fairly quickly, but in only eight seconds, Jared falls off, his harness leaving him suspended in midair as the platform below him spins. He makes his way back to the starting point when it approaches (:45), but by then, Mark more than halfway to the straight portion at the top. ?Orange Jaguars gotta move if he wants that mask!? After twenty seconds, Mark is only about 135 degrees from the top part of the platform, but Jared is still 540 degrees away. With :35 remaining, Mark makes it to the top, which consists of a straight portion with two side railings. Mark holds onto the inner railing and reaches out for the mask, quickly grabbing it.
?Red Jaguars got their mask! Now they just gotta come back down!? Kirk declares, and Mark starts to turn around. On the way down, he moves in the same direction as the bridge spins, but still moves slowly to be careful. In the meantime, Jared picks up the pace a little as he continues on to the top, and gets to the railing-adorned top landing with twenty seconds to go. He finally gets to the mask and grabs it with fifteen seconds left, just as Mark actually walks off the edge of the bridge by mistake. ?Oh! That leaves an open? can the Orange Iguanas catch up?? With a little effort, Mark swings his way back to the bridge, but hoists himself back up onto a slightly higher ledge than before. By then, however, only eight seconds remain, and Jared is slightly ahead. ?It?s coming down to the wire?!? Mark starts to run at this point. He nearly repeats his mistake on the way down, but instead moves past Jared and reaches the bottom of the bridge with just one second left. He steps off as Kirk comes over.
?That?s it! Stop the spinning!? he announces, and as the indicators on the screen disappear, both platforms slow down before completely stopping; at this point, Jared walks down and joins the others. ?Red Jaguars made it to the bottom first. It was down to the wire, but they get a half a Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds, and Kirk and Mark high-five. ?So it?s all tied up, and we go to the third and final game, worth a full Pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.?
Olmec narrates:
"According to legend, Mozart lost the mask he was going to wear to a masquerade ball, but his future wife, Constanze gave him a new one. One player from each team is carrying a mask, and at the top of the mountain is a second mask and a wedding ring. When Kirk gives the signal, both of you run, jump and climb to get up to the peak of the mountain in front of you any way you can. Once there, one of you must switch the masks, and the other must grab the wedding ring. Then, both of you come back down and place the two objects in your bin.
"The first team to grab both objects and come back down? or the team that's further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins."
The camera segues over to Kirk. "This is for the Temple," he declares. "Sixty seconds on the clock?" The countdown clock appears onscreen in the bottom-right corner, an orange half-Pendant in the upper-left and a red half-Pendant in the upper-right. Immediately after all this, Kirk takes a few steps back as the camera pans out to show the mountain-like structures the teams have to climb. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
As soon as Kirk shouts ?Go,? the players on each team take off in very distinct directions, starting off by running along the outside terraces of the structure. For the Orange Iguanas, Jared opts for the left extreme of the mountain and Erin the right extreme; the Jaguars send Kelsey off to the left and Mark off to the right. ?There?s many ways up the mountain, you just gotta choose the right ones!? Within seconds, the teams are met with 50-degree climbing walls? gently-sloping, but long. At this point the Orange Iguanas pull ahead; they get to the top of these walls first, with 48 seconds to go. Next, they try to jump over a canyon to get to level platforms closer to the central peak, but both miss and land in the U-shaped canyon at opposite ends (:45).
?Red Jaguars trying to catch up, can they do it? Or can the Orange Iguanas keep ahead?? The same problem actually occurs to the Red Jaguars, falling into the canyons with 39 seconds remaining. They similarly try to regroup by moving towards the middle of the canyon; by the :34 mark, the Iguanas are both near the top of steeper walls on either side of the center of the mountain. Soon after, they reach the tops and jump down onto the center ridge. On the other hand, the Jaguars head straight for the center road, and up longer but more direct climbing walls (:26). The Orange Iguanas also head for the middle of the central ridge to start in on the last sets of climbing walls there, since they are already closer to the highest peak.
?Orange Iguanas almost there, now they need to? they need to get to the top and switch the objects!? The Red Jaguars hit a snag on the way up, when Kelsey loses grip on the second climbing wall and has to restart from the base of it (:16). Soon after, Jared of the Orange Iguanas is the first player to reach either peak; he takes the mask attached to his helmet and switches it for the one at the top of the mountain, then goes to help Erin finish her climb up the almost-vertical final wall. She gets over the top ledge and slips on the ring with ten seconds remaining, to assure that she doesn?t lose it. ?Orange Jaguars got both their objects! Ten seconds to come back!? With time ticking down, the Iguanas hurriedly climb back down the slopes, but can only make it halfway down when the countdown clock hits zero and explodes. The ceiling spotlights flash, and Kirk gestures to both teams? including the Red Jaguars, who were just starting back down the highest climbing wall? as he runs over.
?All right guys? great job by both teams!? he remarks as the teams work their ways back down the mountains. ?They both did good, it was really close? here come the Orange Iguanas now?? The Iguanas? support cords are raised a little to help them climb out of the canyon and over the starting ridge. ?But the Orange Iguanas were furthest along when time ended, so they get the full Pendant, giving them a Pendant and a half? the Red Jaguars?? he pauses to allow the Red Jaguars to climb up onto the starting ridge? ?the Red Jaguars only had a half-Pendant. The Orange Iguanas are goin? to the Temple!? Jared and Erin hug and celebrate, and Kirk goes over to the Red Jaguars as they hop down onto the studio floor. ?The Red Jaguars gave it a gallant effort, it was a tough match all the way through. Here?s what we?ve got for them.? Mark and Kelsey will each be receiving Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime and Megatron action figures.
The screen wipes to show Kirk and the Orange Iguanas, who are now free from their harnesses, standing in front of their mountain. ?Now we?ll see the Orange Iguanas make it through Olmec?s Temple, retrieve the Mask of Mozart,? he declares, ?right after this!? The camera pans out, showing only the equipment for the third Temple Game in the arena before going to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and zooming in on the Inspirational Mask on the side shelf next to the head of the statue. The show?s logo reforms over it and the camera fades to black for commercials.
