I'm thinking these shows have either 5, 10, 15, or 20 year contracts (and of course Nick won't renew them because they don't feel like paying the people who actually worked on the shows.) It's an interesting pattern I've noticed. Double Dare's contract was drawn up earlier, and I assume so was Double Dare 2000's since it premiered in January 2000.
15 Years:
Think Fast: 1989-2004
Make the Grade: 1989-2004
Wild and Crazy Kids: 1990-2005
SK8-TV: 1990-2005
20 Years:
Double Dare: 1985-2005
Finders Keepers: 1986-2006
This is when I predict the shows will leave Nick GAS (If it's STILL up by then on Dish.)
2008: Legends of the Hidden Temple (If 15 Years)
2009: Double Dare 2000 (If 10 Years)
2010: Get the Picture (Will be 20 Years, episodes were taped in 1990)
2011: Nick Arcade (Will be 20 years, episodes were taped in 1991).
2012: GUTS (Will be 20 Years)
2012: Figure it Out (If 15 Years)
2013: Legends of the Hidden Temple (Will be 20 Years)
2014: Double Dare 2000 (If 15 Years)
2017: Figure it Out (If 20 Years)
2019: Double Dare 2000 (If 20 Years)
So you read right, this could be Legends last year if it was a 15 year contract instead of a 20 year one. Possibly on Turbonick too. Tell me what you think too.
Does anyone have the airdate of the first episode? If it was early 1993 then we can most likely confirm that it's contract is 20 years, not 15. Plus, imagine the schedule when even MORE shows get pulled.
If Legends contract is 20, Get the Picture will leave in 2010 and Nick Arcade will leave in 2011, four shows in heavy rotation, imagine that... Next will be GUTS, we're down to 3 shows.
Figure it out COULD leave in 2012, I'm assuming that it's a 15 year contract since it wasn't pulled in 2007 (where it would be 10 years old), and I don't think they'd write up a contract in 2007 for this show to air for 20 years. I think most likely it was renewed for 10 years in 2002.
Next will be Legends, it will be 20 years old, so bye!
For Double Dare 2000, I assume it was the same case as Figure it Out (since the contract would be renewed in 2004 for 10 years, back when they actually had faith in this channel.)
If I'm right, all programming should end on Nick GAS in 2014. However, if I'm wrong and those have 5 more years on them, it'll end in 2019. Although, only Figure it Out and Double Dare 2000 would be airing back to back over and over again.
2017 without a doubt would see the end of Figure it Out. A marathon of Double Dare 2000. They might as rename the channel "The Double Dare 2000 Channel".
2019 would be the end of Double Dare 2000.
.... Now what? That's assuming Dish holds onto it this long, which won't happen, but it would be funny to see if it did.
