Rules as of October 19th, 2011We like to have a relaxed atmosphere here at Phantom's Temple, but there are a few guidelines of which members must be aware. Unless the circumstance is extreme, breaking these rules once will warrant a warning; breaking them a second or subsequent time will result in a suspension or a ban. The moderators will discuss their course of action thoughtfully and may choose any option they desire.
Illegal ActivityDo not discuss illegal material or where to find it. This includes porn, links to episode downloads, and activities advocating the acts of bootleg, fraud, rape, vandalism, stealing, etc. Furthermore, do not plagiarize others' work.
Flaming and Trolling- Flaming is defined as any tactless assault on another member, whether direct or indirect. Avoid flaming as much as possible. If you have a conflict with any member that you cannot resolve peacefully, do not incite or engage in a flame war with that member, but rather send a private message to a mod or myself about the problematic member and we will look into the situation.
- Trolling is the act of indirectly but intentionally provoking another member. This amplifies ill will and must be avoided.
Spam BotsNo spam bots. (Not a problem anymore, but I keep it here just so it is official.)
Spam PolicySpam responsibly. While the Jesters' Court is available for off-topic and spam posts, try not to go overboard with such posts. An example of going overboard would be to post twenty times in a row for the sake of increasing your post count and forum ranking.
Moderation/Authority PolicyThe moderators and I do their best to keep the forum running smoothly and keep things in check. Please do not "rent-a-mod" by alerting an offending member, moderator, or myself if a rule is broken. This is not your responsibility. On the other hand, if there is a case where you are convinced the moderators and I have overlooked something considerable, you may send one of us a private message.
Additional points- We have a liberal policy on language; profanity is permitted.
- If you have a conflict with another member, please attempt to solve the problem yourselves via private message. Only contact a moderator if the problem remains unresolved afterward.
- The moderators are not responsible for what occurs outside of this forum. We will not ban a member because he or she runs over your dog (though we will be sad).
- Please be very cautious when using sarcasm. Text lacks the subtle variations of the human voice that would typically indicate jest. For more information, please consult this topic.
- Any member who requests others' opinions of him or herself accepts the risk of being offended by the responses. Regardless of sentiment, responding members should strive for politeness to minimize the risk of flaming or trolling.
Of course, the reason we're all here is to have fun. If you're not enjoying yourself, please offer suggestions in
the Moat and we'll do what we can to make things better. Happy posting!
