We see a man in jeans and a blue shirt standing in front of a giant stone head, facing it.

“Olmec,” says the man, “are you sure that the Rapids are safe to cross for today?”

“Oh, don’t be a worrywart, Kirk,” replies Olmec. “Anyway, it was your job to make sure that the bridges were stable enough to cross.”

“Oh, right.” Kirk runs off-camera. “It seems safe enough to me,” calls Kirk from a distance away. “I don’t think they should be much trou—AHHH!” A splash is heard, and then a tired call from Kirk. “Found a problem…”

Olmec shouts: “Welcome to LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!”

The theme music suddenly begins to play. There is a flash of green lightning, two halves of a Pendant of Life crash together to form the show’s logo, and underneath it the words “Wild Jungle” appear as the Pendant pushes back to allow the rest of the title to appear over it. The background quickly cross-fades to lush greenery as cascading water is heard. The camera then moves towards the right to reveal a channel of bubbling, steamy water, and what appears to be a tropical jungle.

“With your guide, Kirk Fogg!” Olmec then yells. “And here he is now!”

A bamboo gate opens below the audience sections, and Kirk runs out to greet the crowd, crossing a bridge to the other side of the rapidly-moving water. “Thank you very much!” he shouts. “Nice to see you—nice to see you too, Olmec. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his Temple. Which one are we gonna hear about today?”

The lights under Olmec switch on as he replies:
“The Legend of the Golden Crown of Archimedes.”

“Ah, the Golden Crown of Archimedes,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Golden Crown—”

The camera segues back to the doorway that Kirk emerged from moments ago, and the teams come out of it one-by-one as Kirk introduces them.

“Will it be the Red Jaguars?
“The Blue Barracudas?
“The Green Monkeys?
“The Orange Iguanas?
“The Purple Parrots?
“Or the Silver Snakes?”

“They’re gonna have to pass some tough physical and mental tests,” says Kirk, “and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec’s Temple. But first, they have to cross the Rapids, and Olmec will tell us how they’ll have to do it today.” The camera zooms in on Olmec’s face as a small animated representation of the game appears in the corner of the screen.

Olmec instructs:
“Before you, an unstable bridge stretches across the Rapids, and along the sides, two old vines. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will step onto the bridge and make their way across. If you fall into the water, you must return to the riverbank and begin again. Both partners must cross the Rapids the same way, and when both partners are safely on the other side, hit your gong to finish!” The camera rapidly zooms out all the way to the Red Jaguars’ gong, which Kirk slams down on to demonstrate.

“The first four teams to hit their gongs will advance to the next round,” finishes Olmec.

“Teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

“Let’s rock!” replies Olmec.

“All right,” says Kirk in response. “On your marks, get set… GO!”

The boys on all six teams are first to cross the Rapids, each one racing out onto the bridges and ignoring the vines. “Oh, there they go across the Moat—Rapids!” Kirk says, quickly correcting himself. The Red Jaguar and Green Monkey boys are the two fastest players, simply sprinting all the way across the Rapids, while the Blue Barracudas, Purple Parrots, and Silver Snakes cross slightly more slowly, taking more care. “Orange Iguanas are in the water,” announces Kirk as the boy on the Orange Iguanas loses his footing and tips over into the water. “That gives a chance for our other teams…” At barely 10 seconds into the round, the boys on the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, and Green Monkeys are already on the opposite riverbank and sending their partners over, and just moments later the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes join them. “We might be having our first team soon!” shouts Kirk as the girls on the teams begin running towards their partners and the Orange Iguana boy finally steps off onto the deck. A wide shot shows all six girls at different points across the Rapids, but with the Purple Parrot girl being the fastest and darting right across the water. “We have one—two—three teams!” Kirk says as the Purple Parrots, Green Monkeys, and Blue Barracudas all gong in one after another just seconds apart. “We’re looking for one more team—” The Red Jaguar and Silver Snakes girls both reach the deck at around the same time, but it is the Silver Snakes who are able to slam down on their gong first and lock in as the fourth team at 18 seconds in. “… and we’ve got ‘em! Stop right there!” Kirk yells.

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “All right, nice job there…,” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Blue Barracudas—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Green Monkeys—and the Purple Parrots—and the Silver Snakes.

“The Orange Iguanas and the Red Jaguars gave it a great effort,” he then says. “They’re not going away empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for ‘em and Olmec’s gonna tell us what it is.”

We see a close-up of Olmec’s face, and as he speaks, the prize plug covers the screen:
“You will now be able to tell time by splitting open a Pendant of Life on your new Legends of the Hidden Temple WATCH! A custom-made digital sports watch design from Casio.”

“OLMEC!” yells an off-screen voice as the screen fades in to reveal a giant stone head placed upon the top of a foliage-covered ledge.

“Yes, Kirk?” The lights underneath Olmec switch on as he speaks.

“Why did you change my work attire?!” demands Kirk.

“The producers said that wanted a new look for you, Kirk,” Olmec says.

“But that doesn’t mean you could do this!” Kirk walks onscreen, revealing that half of his pants’ left leg has been cut off and the other has holes in it and his shirt is almost completely ripped up.

“It’s going to be a popular fashion style,” says Olmec.

“Oh yeah? And where will this kind of look ever be popular?”

“Right here on LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!”

Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his Temple. Which one are we gonna hear about today?”

The lights under Olmec switch on as he replies:
“The Legend of the Sacred Scrolls of Merlin the Wizard.”

“Woah, the Sacred Scroll of Merlin the Wizard,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Sacred Scrolls—”

Olmec instructs:
“Before you, an unstable bridge stretches across the Rapids, and beside it, two old vines. “The first four teams to hit their gongs will advance to the next round,” finishes Olmec.

“Hey, teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Why, Mr. Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

“Let’s get crackin’!” replies Olmec.

“All right then,” says Kirk in response. “On your marks, get set… GO!”

On that, the girls on the Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots and the boys on all the other teams begin to cross the Rapids, all avoiding the vines completely and stretching their hands out for balance instead. “There they go across the Moat!” shouts Kirk, misnaming the Rapids. “Orange Iguanas having trouble right away! Purple Parrots as well…” The boy on the Orange Iguanas eventually loses his balance and falls into the water, but the girl on the Purple Parrots is able to steady herself and carry on, but as she reaches the ¾ way across her bridge, the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, and Silver Snakes already have their first players across at 12 seconds into the Rapids crossing. “Can they stay on?” Kirk narrates as the camera pans toward the front area of the Rapids, showing the girl on the Red Jaguars cautiously crossing and using her side vines, while the Blue Barracuda girl and the Green Monkey boy simply run across, the latter falling in. “Whoa, Green Monkeys lost their balance!” Kirk says. The girl on the Silver Snakes falls into the Rapids just feet away from the deck, allowing the Blue Barracudas to pull ahead and gong in as the first team. “Oh, we’ve got our first team!” Kirk announces at barely over 20 seconds into the round. “And our second!” The boy on the Purple Parrots dashes across his bridge in a matter of seconds, running past his partner to hit his team’s gong.

“We’re looking for two more teams now,” commentates Kirk as the Orange Iguanas finally get one player across the Moat at the 27-second mark. “Who’re they gonna be? Looks like it might be the Red Jaguars…” The Red Jaguar girl’s cautiousness pays off as she steps off safely onto the riverbank, slamming down on her gong with her partner. “All right, we’ve got three teams—we just need one more. Here come the Silver Snakes again…” The camera switches to a wide shot, showing Green, Orange, and Silver all at different points, but the Green Monkey boy is able to overtake the Silver Snake girl and races off onto the deck, hitting his team’s gong to end the crossing after 35 seconds. “And we’ve got our fourth team! That’s it!”

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Nice job by all teams,” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Blue Barracudas—and the Green Monkeys—and the mighty Purple Parrots.

“The Silver Snakes and the Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort,” he then says. “They’re not going away empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for ‘em and Olmec’s gonna tell us what it is.”

We see a close-up of Olmec’s face, and as he speaks, the prize plug covers the screen:

“Hey, Kirk, guess what?” says a giant talking stone head.

“Yeah, Olmec, what’s up?” replies Kirk, walking toward Olmec.

“I talked to the producers and they managed to get Scorpions to come onto the show,” Olmec says.

“The Scorpions?” Kirk says, raising his eyebrows. “I love their songs, where are they?”

“They’re practicing by the Rapids,” Olmec says.

Kirk walks out of the shot muttering to himself. “I can’t see them from here… AHHHH! THESE ARE REAL SCORPIONS! OLMEC!”

“WELCOME TO LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!”

“The Legend of the Jolly Roger of Ned Lowe.”

“Ah, the Jolly Roger of Ned Lowe,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve that Jolly Roger—”

“Before you, an unstable bridge stretches across the Rapids, and beside it, two old vines. “The first four teams to hit their gongs will advance to the next round,” finishes Olmec.

“Teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

“Rock Me Like a Hurricane, Kirk!” replies Olmec.

“Haha, all right,” laughs Kirk in response. “Teams! On your marks, get set… GO!”

The boys on all the six teams immediately tread forward, some startled by the unstableness of the bridge at first. “There they go, across the Rapids,” shouts Kirk. “Green Monkeys doing good! So are the Silver Snakes—here they come!” The boy on the Silver Snakes tears across his bridge, barely making contact with the vines beside him, while the boys on the Orange Iguanas and Red Jaguars move across more carefully, walking across the bridge instead. “Blue Barracudas fell in,” narrates Kirk as the camera zooms in on the Blue Barracuda boy falling into the water, then back to the riverbank, where the boys on the Purple Parrots, Green Monkeys, and Silver Snakes are already standing. “We’ve got four—five players!” announces Kirk as the boys on the Red Jaguars and Orange Iguanas join them. “Now for their partners to come across. It’s tough, they gotta keep their balance…” The girl on the Green Monkeys falls into the water, and so does the girl on the Purple Parrots, who loses her balance about halfway across the bridge. “That leaves an opening for the Red Jaguars!” shouts Kirk. The Orange Iguana and Silver Snake girls both scramble toward the finish, both disregarding the vines and simply running across the bridge onto the deck.

“Here they come!” Kirk narrates. “We’ve got one—two—” Two gongs ring almost simultaneously as the Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes both gong in. “We’ve got room for two more teams! Here come the Blue Barracudas…” The girl on the Green Monkeys lets go of the vines to the sides and instead tries to make a dash for it, but ends up slipping and falling into the water again. “OH!” groans Kirk. “Green Monkeys’re down again, gives a chance for the Blue Barracudas—here they come!” The girl on the Blue Barracudas cautiously makes her way closer to the riverbank, but is overtaken by a frantic Purple Parrot girl who races onto the deck and slams down on her gong. “Purple Parrots are in!” shouts Kirk, but is interrupted by the sound of a fourth gong, coming from the Blue Barracudas at a little over 30 seconds into the round. “And the Blue Barracudas! We’ve got our four teams!”

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “All right, nice job,” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Blue Barracudas—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Orange Iguanas—and the Purple Parrots—and the Silver Snakes.

“The Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys came up short,” he then says. “They gave it a great effort, though. They’re not going away empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for ‘em and here’s what it is… Olmec?”

We see a close-up of Olmec’s face, and as he speaks, the prize plug covers the screen:

“Hey, Kirk,” begins a giant stone head, lit by red-orange lights. “Wanna hear a joke?”

“Uh… okay, sure, Olmec,” agrees Kirk, as the camera zooms out to show him sitting on the Temple steps next to Olmec.

“Knock-knock.”

“Who’s there?”

“Me.”

“Me who?”

“You’re Kirk. How could you forget?”

“You know Olmec,” Kirk says in response, rolling his eyes, “I thought that joke was funny the first 346 times you said it, but after that, it gets kind of annoying.”

“Well, maybe,” Olmec says, “but at least it’s a good way to begin LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!”

The lights under Olmec switch on as he replies:
“The Legend of the Lost Light Bulb of Thomas Edison.”

“Oh, the Lost Light Bulb of Thomas Edison,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Lost Light Bulb—”

“Before you, an unstable bridge stretches across the Rapids, and beside it, two old vines. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will step onto the bridge and make their way across while holding on to the vines.

“Hey, teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

“Rock on!” replies Olmec.

“Let’s get started, then,” says Kirk in response. “On your marks, get set… GO!”

All six boys immediately dart forward onto their bridges, with the boy on the Green Monkeys immediately losing his balance on the bridge and falling into the water. “Whoa, you wanna go slow!” exclaims Kirk. “Remember, this isn’t about speed: it’s about patience and balance.” Other players—namely the boys on the Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots—follow this advice and move across their bridge putting one foot in front of the other instead of having both their feet parallel to each other, moving steadily across the bridge. “Nice job there by the Blue Barracudas,” narrates Kirk. “They’ve got the hang of it. Orange Iguanas, looking good so far—can they make it across in one try?” In less than 15 seconds, the boy on the Blue Barracudas reaches the other side of the Rapids, stepping off the bridge onto the deck just before the boy on the Red Jaguars slips and falls into the Rapids. “Ooh, almost made it!” shouts Kirk as the Red Jaguar boy begins to swim back. The camera segues to the riverbank for a moment to show that Blue, Purple, and Orange all have their first players across, and then pans back toward the Rapids to show the boy on the Silver Snakes heading cautiously to the riverbank, his bridge swaying slightly every step he takes. “All right, good job by the Silver Snakes,” says Kirk.

The girls on the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots are now both about halfway across the Rapids at 27 seconds into the round, and as they cross two-thirds of their bridges, all six teams have sent their second players forward. “Oh, Green Monkeys fell in!” shouts Kirk as the girl on the Green Monkeys is tipped into the water. “That gives a chance for the Purple Parrots—” The Purple Parrot girl stumbles slightly, the Orange Iguana girl right behind her… but she falls into the water, allowing the Purple Parrot girl to take the lead, racing onto the deck. “All right! We’ve got our first team!” announces Kirk as the Purple Parrots slam down on their gong together. “Nice job… we’re looking for three more teams!” The camera quickly pans back to the Rapids, showing the girl on the Silver Snakes outstretching her hands for balance instead of holding on to the vines and simply making a dash for it—overtaking the girl on the Red Jaguars, as revealed by the wide shot that is shown—and slamming down on her gong before hugging her partner in celebration. “Nice work by the Silver Snakes!” comments Kirk. “We’ve got room for two more teams—” Kirk is interrupted by the sound of the Blue Barracudas’ gong, as the Blue Barracuda girl quickly steps off her bridge and hits it. “All right, we’re looking for our last team—looks like it might be the Green Monkeys or the Orange Iguanas.” In a side-by-side race, the girls on the Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas both dash forward without even holding on to their vines, arriving at the riverbank at around the right time. “Oh, who’s it gonna be? It’s… the Green Monkeys!” shouts Kirk as the Green Monkeys gong in just slightly ahead of the Orange Iguanas. “We’ve got our four teams! Stop right there, whoa…”

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “What a great job out there on the Moat—uh, Rapids,” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Blue Barracudas—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Green Monkeys—and the Purple Parrots—and the Silver Snakes.

“The Red Jaguars and the Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort,” he then says. “They’re not gonna be going away empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for ‘em, and Olmec will tell us what it is.”

The screen fades in to reveal an oversized coffee cup sitting on a ledge in front of a large stone head. The camera zooms out further to reveal a man in a light blue shirt also drinking coffee, but from a much smaller cup.

“Hey, Olmec,” the man says to the head. “This coffee tastes great! What’s it made from?”

“It’s a secret ingredient, Kirk,” Olmec replies mysteriously.

“C’mon, we’re all friends here,” pries Kirk. “Tell me what it is.”

“It’s made right here on LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!” shouts Olmec.

“Well, what is it?” Kirk then asks.

“Beetle juice.”

“PFFFF!” chokes Kirk, spitting out his drink.

“The Legend of the Attack Plan of Murayama T?an.”

“Whoa, the Attack Plan of Murayama T?an,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Attack Plan—”

“Before you, a tightrope stretches across the Rapids, and above it, a path of five vines. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will step on to the tightrope and hold on to the first vine. Then, make your way over to the next vine and continue your way down to the other side. If you fall into the water, you must return to the riverbank and begin again. Both partners must cross the Rapids in this same way, and when both partners are safely on the other side, hit your gong to finish!” The camera rapidly zooms out all the way to the Red Jaguars’ gong, which Kirk slams down on to demonstrate.

“The first four teams to hit their gongs will advance to the next round,” finishes Olmec.

“All right, teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are y’all ready?!”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

Hai!” replies Olmec.

“On your marks,” Kirk begins, “get set… GO!”

With that word, the first players on each team begin to cross the Rapids, each grabbing their vines. “All right, now let’s see if they can get that balance right…” says Kirk, as the boy on the Blue Barracudas appears to be having trouble, swinging forward and backward while trying to steady himself. “The Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots are blazing,” commentates Kirk, as the camera zooms in on the Orange Iguana boy and the Purple Parrot girl, who are already grabbing hold of their third vines. “—but the Silver Snakes aren’t giving up!” Kirk finishes, as the camera than segues to the boy on the Silver Snakes hanging on to his second vine for dear life. A wide shot reveals that Orange and Purple are on their fourth vines, Green is in between the third and fourth, and that Red, Blue, and Silver are all on their third.

After roughly 32 seconds, the first players to reach the riverbank are the male Orange Iguana and the female Purple Parrot. “All right, now for their partners’ turn,” Kirk narrates. The camera pans over to the Red and Blue gongs, where the Red Jaguar boy stretches his fifth vine, not letting go until he is safely on the riverbank. “Nice job by the Red Jaguars!” comments Kirk, as the camera segues back to him standing on the Rapids’ bridge. The girl on the Orange Iguanas takes a lead, transitioning from one vine to another with ease, while the girl on the Silver Snakes struggles simply to move on to her second vine. “Looks like we may have our first team soon,” says Kirk. “It’s—” Kirk pauses momentarily as the Orange Iguana girl reaches the riverbank, stumbling momentarily, but running over to her gong and hitting it nearly 50 seconds into the round. “—the Orange Iguanas!” finishes Kirk, shouting over the ring of the gong.

“Who’s gonna be our second team?” Kirk asks rhetorically, the camera showing Kirk through a view of the Blue Barracudas’ and Red Jaguars’ paths of vines, where the Red Jaguar girl is grabbing hold of her third vine and the Blue Barracuda girl to her second. “I think we’ve got our next team…” The camera pans back to the Purple Parrot girl bringing her first foot onto the deck, letting go of her fifth vine, and finally stepping safely onto dry land. “… and it’s the Purple Parrots!” The Purple Parrots slam down on their gong together, followed closely after by the Red Jaguars’ gong going off. “And the Red Jaguars!” Kirk shouts. “Now we just need one more team…” The girl on the Green Monkeys falls in, allowing the Blue Barracudas to catch up, but not before the Silver Snakes girl overtakes her unexpectedly, powering her way past her fifth vine and onto the riverbank. “All right, just gotta hit the gong… and she’s done it!” Kirk declares as the Silver Snakes gong in together. “We’ve got our four teams! Stop right there…”

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “All right, nice job, teams!” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Orange Iguanas—and the Purple Parrots—and the Silver Snakes.

“Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys… you guys came up a little short, but you gave it a great effort,” he then says. “Olmec, what do you have for these guys?”

We see a close-up of Olmec’s face, and as he speaks, the prize plug covers the screen:

We see a man in a light blue shirt and blue jeans walk up to a large stone head. “Olmec,” says the man, looking at the stone head, “what’s with this?” He disappears from the screen, and then drags a gigantic baseball cap in front of it.

“It’s my new hat,” says Olmec, as the vermilion lamps underneath him come on. “It’ll make me look hip.”

“Uh… yeah, I don’t think so, Olmec,” says Kirk.

“At least I can play baseba—” Olmec begins.

“Yeah, no, you can’t do that either,” interrupts Kirk.

“Well,” retaliates Olmec, “at least I can still look cool when I host LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!”

“The Legend of the Purple Cloak of the Roman Emperor.”

“Ah, the Purple Cloak of the Roman Emperor,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Purple Cloak—”

“Hey, teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

“Let’s rock!” replies Olmec.

“Teams!” shouts Kirk. “On your marks, get set… GO!”

The camera immediately switches to a close-up of the Red Jaguar boy, ferociously crossing the Rapids, splashing a little bit of water as he digs his feet into the water as he goes. “Remember, it’s about the transitions when you go from one vine to the next,” explains Kirk. “Green Monkeys doing well; so are the Red Jaguars… Blue Barracudas look like they’re having some trouble, though…” The girl on the Blue Barracudas is seen clutching onto her second vine, trying to pull herself back up, but drops into the water moments later. “Oh! Blue Barracudas down!” shouts Kirk. “That gives a chance for the… other teams, there…” The boy on the Red Jaguars passes his fourth and fifth vines quickly, reaching the deck only about 20 seconds into the Rapid crossing. “Red Jaguars are across,” announces Kirk. “So are the Green Monkeys and the Purple Parrots… Orange Iguanas coming up fast, though.” The camera shows a close race between the Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots, as their first players (both boys) step off the rope just seconds after one another.

The girls on the Red Jaguars and Green Monkeys are now competing neck-and-neck, but the latter gets her left foot caught up in the rope while trying to transition to her third vine. “Oh no, the Green Monkeys are havin’ some trouble…” Kirk says, as the camera zooms in. The Orange Iguana girl overtakes the Green Monkey girl, swiftly moving from her second vine to her third, but she doesn’t move fast enough to beat “—the Red Jaguars!” shouts Kirk, as the Red Jaguar girl steps off onto the other end and gongs in. “We’re looking for three more teams, though—who’re they gonna be? The Silver Snakes and the Purple Parrots are hanging in there, though…” The Purple Parrot girl finally begins to cross the Rapids, while the girl on the Silver Snakes continues to push forward, transitioning from her second vine to her third. Back at the start line, the boy on the Blue Barracudas finally begins to cross, but the girl on the Orange Iguanas has already reached the other end, and she slams down on her team gong together with her partner.

“Orange Iguanas are in,” announces Kirk. “Now we’re looking for two more teams…” The girls on the Silver Snakes and Purple Parrots both appear to be on their fourth vines, trying to move to their fifth. “Here come the Green Monkeys…” Kirk commentates, as the girl on the Green Monkeys finally steps off onto the deck, and sprints for the gong, slamming down on it about 45 seconds into the round. “Nice job!” The boy on the Blue Barracudas tries hard to catch up, but the camera zooms in on the girls on the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes, both stepping off from their ropes. “Purple or Silver? Purple or Silver?!” shouts Kirk excitedly. “It’s—” He is interrupted by a final gong, but then shouts “—the Silver Snakes! We’ve got our four teams!”

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Red Jaguars got over there in a flash, they made it across there first,” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Green Monkeys—and the Orange Iguanas—and the mighty Silver Snakes.

“The Blue Barracudas and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort,” he then says. “They’re not going away empty-handed. We’ve got a great gift for them—Olmec, tell us what it is.”

We see a close-up of Olmec’s face, and as he speaks, the prize plug covers the screen:
“You will now be able to tell time by splitting open a Pendant of Life on your new Legends of the Hidden Temple WATCH! A custom-made digital sports watch design from Casio.”

A man in a blue shirt and blue jeans walks up to a giant stone head sitting upon a rock ledge. Below the head, rags and all sorts of other trash lie in thick plant growth.

“Olmec,” the man calls, “when are you going to clean up this mess?”

“It’s MY Temple, Kirk,” booms Olmec. “That means those plants are MINE, and I can do whatever I want with them, whether you like it or not.”

Kirk sighs, and then looks away. “It’s like a jungle of its own… personal space, my foot…” mutters Kirk, walking away from Olmec.

“Yes, it is a jungle!” shouts Olmec. “LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE: WILD JUNGLE!”

The theme music suddenly begins to play. There is a flash of green lightning, two halves of a Pendant of Life crash together to form the show’s logo, and underneath it the words “Wild Jungle” appear as the Pendant pushes back to allow the rest of the title to appear over it. “The Legend of Thoth and the Eye of Horus.”

“Ooh, Thoth and the Eye of Horus,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Eye of Horus—”

The camera segues back to the doorway that Kirk emerged from moments ago, and the teams come out of it one-by-one as Kirk introduces them.

“Will it be the Red Jaguars?
“The Blue Barracudas?
“The Green Monkeys?
“The Orange Iguanas?
“The Purple Parrots?
“Or the Silver Snakes?”

“Teams!” calls Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk then asks.

“This rock is ready to roll!” replies Olmec.

“On your marks,” begins Kirk, “get set… GO!”

The crowd begins to cheer as the players begin their journey out onto the Rapids, most of the players reaching for their first vine before they step onto the tightrope, but with the boy and girl on the Blue Barracudas and Orange Iguanas, respectively, try the opposite—the latter falling into the water fairly quickly. “Ooh, bad start for the Orange Iguanas!” commentates Kirk. “The Purple Parrots and the Green Monkeys look like they’re doing good, though, and so are the Red Jaguars…” The boy on the Red Jaguars makes smooth transitions from vine to vine, stretching them sideways as far as they can before switching hands swiftly. “I like the way he’s moving,” comments Kirk, as the camera segues back to the end of the Rapids, showing the boys on the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes about to grab their fourth vines, the Purple boy just barely ahead of the Silver boy.  “That Red Jaguar is off,” narrates Kirk, as the Red Jaguar boy steps off onto the deck and his partner begins to cross. “Purple Parrots’re right behind them, though.” The boy on the Purple Parrots then steps off, followed by the Silver Snake boy and the Green Monkey girl quickly afterward.

“Oh, Red Jaguars, hanging on by just a little…” exclaims Kirk, as the camera focuses on the Red Jaguar girl splashing her feet around in the water, clutching the third rope, but eventually falling in and she swims back reluctantly. “That gives a chance for the Silver Snakes—she’s got the rhythm down now.” Indeed, the girl on the Silver Snakes seems to have little trouble moving from vine-to-vine across the tightrope, grabbing onto her fourth and fifth vines one barely after the other, and stepping onto the deck. “And we’ve got our first team!” shouts Kirk as the Silver Snakes slam down on their gong. “Who’s gonna be our next team?” The camera segues back to the Red Jaguar girl giving the Rapids a second shot, and then zooming in on the girl on the Blue Barracudas struggling to hold onto the second vine, but recovering after a few moments and moving on. “We’ve got two teams!” Kirk then announces as the girl on the Purple Parrots runs over and hits the gong. “Three teams! We just need one more now!” he yells as the boy on the Green Monkeys steps off onto the deck and hits his gong before high-fiving his partner.

“It’s gonna be a close race between the Red and the Blue…” commentates Kirk, as the camera zooms in on the girls on the Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas both struggling to grab onto their fifth vines, the Blue Barracuda girl having more trouble—both of her feet are hanging down into the rushing water—and the Red Jaguar girl pulls herself up onto the deck. “And it’s the Red Jaguars!” shouts Kirk as the girl on the Red Jaguars tiredly runs over to slam down on the gong. “We’ve got our four teams!”

The camera segues back to Kirk standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Nice job!” he says. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars—” A shot of each qualifying team is shown as Kirk announces their name “—and the Green Monkeys—and the Purple Parrots—and the Silver Snakes.

We see a man in a light blue shirt and blue jeans pacing back and forth in front of a giant stone head, lit with vermilion-colored lamps from below him. The head appears to have a pair of oversized headphones on, and a familiar guitar riff and faint high-pitched vocals can be heard playing.

“Olmec,” says the man, facing the stone. “Turn that off! Josh is gonna be here any moment, and you’ve got to get ready for the new season.

“Relax, Kirk,” replies Olmec as the song now becomes identifiable. “We’ve still got time.” Right then, the sound of a vehicle motor rumbles through the trees.

“He’s here!” shouts Kirk, as he looks to the left of the screen, and suddenly, a safari jeep appears to drive right up in front of the two. A man wearing a green shirt and khakis steps out of the jeep and greets Kirk.

“Hi!”

“Hey, Josh, good to see you!” says Kirk as he gives Josh a high-five, then turns back to Olmec, still listening to his music. “Olmec! Turn that off, we’ve got a show to do.” Olmec remains silent as the music continues to blare. “OLMEC!”

“You know where you are, Josh?” asks Olmec in a deep voice as the music restarts.

“Where am I?” laughs Josh.

“YOU’RE IN THE JUNGLE!” booms Olmec, as the camera zooms in on his face.

The background quickly cross-fades to lush greenery as cascading water is heard. The camera then moves towards the right to reveal a channel of bubbling, steamy water, and what appears to be a tropical jungle.

“With your guides, Kirk Fogg, and from Clockwork, Josh Painter!” Olmec then yells. “And here they are now!”

A bamboo gate opens below the audience sections, and Kirk and Josh run out to greet the crowd, crossing a bridge to the other side of the rapidly-moving water. “Thank you very much!” shouts Kirk. “All right, great to see you! Nice to see you too, Olmec. Welcome to a new season of Legends of the Hidden Temple! The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his Temple. Which one are we gonna hear about today?”

The lights under Olmec switch on as he replies:
“The Legend of The Scaled Sash of the Rain Dragon.”

“Whoa, the Scaled Sash of the Rain Dragon,” repeats Kirk. “Well, the adventure is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Scaled Sash—”

The camera segues back to the doorway that Kirk and Josh emerged from moments ago, and the teams come out of it one-by-one as Kirk and Josh take turns introducing them.

“Will it be the Red Jaguars?
“The Blue Barracudas?
“The Green Monkeys?
“The Orange Iguanas?
“The Purple Parrots?
“Or the Silver Snakes?”

“Well, I’ve learned one thing from watching your show, Kirk,” says Josh, “and it’s that these teams will have to pass physical and mental tests, and in the end, there’s only one team going to Olmec’s Temple.”

“That’s right,” answers Kirk, “but first, they’ll have to cross our brand-new Rapids, and Olmec will tell us how they’ll have to do it today.” The camera zooms in on Olmec’s face as a small animated representation of the game appears in the corner of the screen.

Olmec instructs:
“Before you, a tightrope stretches across the Rapids, and above it hangs five vines. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will step on to the tightrope and hold on to the first vine. Then, make your way over to the next vine and continue your way down to the other side. If you fall into the water, you must return to the beginning and start again.

“Hey, teams!” yells Kirk, who is standing on the wooden bridge at the front end of the Rapids. “Are you ready?”

The teams all shout and cheer in response.

“I know Josh is ready,” continues Kirk, “but Olmec, are you ready?”

“Wake up, it’s time to cross the Rapids!” booms Olmec.

“You heard the rock,” says Kirk. “Josh, since this is our season premiere, you can kick off the Rapids…”

“My pleasure,” replies Josh. “Hey, teams! On your mark... get set… GOOOOO!”

On this word, the first player on each team begins to cross the Rapids, each one reaching out for a vine before stepping on the tightrope, as the bubbling water below steadily flows. “Remember, they’re on the Rapids now,” reminds Kirk. “It’s gonna be a lot harder to get back if they do fall in—oh, and the Orange Iguanas fall!” The girl on the Orange Iguanas indeed does lose her balance and tumbles into the water, and wades her way back with difficulty. “I think the Red Jaguars are doing a good job,” commentates Josh, as we see the boy on the Red Jaguars walk his way across with ease, making smooth transitions from one vine to another, and is on the deck in less than 20 seconds into the round. “All right, they’ve got one player across—now it’s time for their partner to come across too,” explains Kirk. The boys on the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes are the next players across, followed by the girl on the Green Monkeys, who all begin cheering for their partners to come over. “Those Blue Barracudas—having a bit of trouble there, I think,” says Josh. “Mm, definitely,” agrees Kirk. “But remember, that rope REALLY starts to hang down near the middle.”

The camera segues back to the girl on the Orange Iguanas, who is now soaking wet, but makes it onto the deck as the fifth player over—but a gong sounds. “Red Jaguars are in!” shouts Kirk as we see a shot of the Red Jaguars high-fiving each other atop their small rock platform on which their gong is mounted on. “Oh, I like the way she is moving there, right there on the Silver Snakes,” comments Josh. “I think they might be our second team.” The Silver Snakes race up the wooden staircase onto their platform, and the girl on the team slams down on the gong roughly a minute into the round. The boy on the Orange Iguanas has trouble getting across the middle portion of the rope—the loosest portion, which is now hanging down into the water, causing him to be very shaky. Meanwhile, the girl on the Purple Parrots finishes crossing and races up the stairs, followed by her partner, and they both hit their gong together. “Purple Parrots are in!” announces Kirk. “We’re looking for one m—” He is interrupted by the sound of the Green Monkeys’ gong. “That’s it! We’ve got our four teams!”

We then see Kirk and Josh, still standing on the wooden bridge. “I think that went well,” laughs Josh.

“Yeah, I think so,” replies Kirk. “Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars—and the Green Monkeys—and the Purple Parrots—and the Silver Snakes.”

“We musn’t forget about our Orange Iguanas and Blue Barracudas—they did a great job too,” Josh then says. “We do have a nice parting gift for them—tell us what it is, Olmec!”

We see a close-up of Olmec’s face, and as he speaks, the prize plug covers the screen:
“You will now be able to tell time by splitting open a Pendant of Life on your new Legends of the Hidden Temple WATCH! A custom-made digital sports watch design from Casio.”

What is currently being posted in TOOT should be posted HERE so that we can hopefully finally un-derail TOOT. So yes, we can have discussions here without needing to use an [/off-topic] tag. :P

I just had to finish another crapload of homework. Gah, I'm just still too stuck in vacation mode. :x

(And I know the acronym is a little off, but "TODD" works way better than "TODDT", so )

There are a lot of "missing" images from my fanfics (banners and diagrams). I use quotation marks because as far as I know, the images are still in the post and the URLs with IMG tags show up fine when I click "Modify" or quote the post, but after I submit, it doesn't show up.

All the hyperlinks in this forum are reeeeeally screwed up too.

The Treasure Room / Legends: Wild Jungle - Layouts and Trivia
« on: January 10, 2011, 09:00:51 AM »
You are currently looking at the Legends: Wild Jungle Layouts and Trivia Guide | Official Thread and Episode Guide

With a wilder set, wilder temple rooms are needed to complement Legends' new home in the brand new wild and woolly jungle. This is your official guide to the new, nature-filled temple layouts of the show and how to get through each.

In the first season of the show, animals of all kinds dominate the various rooms of the Wild Jungle temple, which all have objectives to be completed to proceed into the next room. Oh, what's that? Oh - don't step on the lion's paw on the way out of his lair - it might wake him up from his afternoon nap.

Season One
Layout One
The Room of the Three Gargoyles— Exactly like its appearance during Season One of the original show.
The Pit of Despair— The same room from early Season Two of the original show.
The Mouth of the Jaguar— Four fangs are placed on a pedestal in the back of the room. The players must place them into the mouth of the jaguar’s head placed in the center of the room.
The Lion's Lair— This room features the wallpaper of the Heart Room with the deep red replaced with yellow. In this room, players must detach two stone lion heads placed on the side walls and place each on its respective lion at the front of the room to open the doors.
The Vine Drop (1)— Three vines hang directly down from the ceiling of the room, each placed over the doorways downward. Players have the options of pulling down on the vines to open the downward doors or hit the actuators to open the doors leading to the adjacent rooms.
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Viper's Nest— The same room from early Season Two of the original show.
The Lion Cage— The room is painted white but is extremely dim. Players can either take the cage up to the Viper’s Nest, climb the ladder to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, or plow through the stone wall to the Sacred Safari.
The Sacred Safari— Players can either search for a magnetic key hidden in the trunk of one of the two elephants in the room to open the doors, or plow through the stone wall to the Lion Cage.
The Tropical Forest— This room’s appearance is similar to that of the Swamp in Season One of the original show, but in place of any netting are vines and tropical plants to make maneuvers more difficult.
The Chameleon Chamber— Six unlit chameleon paintings are on the walls of the room and, beside each, a small actuator. Players may hit an actuator to light up its respective chameleon. The doors open after the chameleon that matches the color of the player’s team is lit up.
The Mining Chamber— Think “Season Three Ledges”, but even darker. The room resembles an old abandoned mine, painted mostly a dark gray with piles of gold scattered deep within the room.

Layout Two
The Room of the Three Gargoyles
The Pit of Despair
The Mouth of the Jaguar
The Lion's Lair
The Vine Drop (1)
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Viper's Nest
The Lion Cage
The Sacred Safari
The Spider's Lair— The same room from Season One of the original show.
The Chameleon Chamber
The Mining Chamber

Layout Three
The Room of the Three Gargoyles
The Pit of Despair
The Mouth of the Jaguar
The Lion's Lair
The Vine Drop (1)
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Forest Fire Room— If a player enters from the Wild Whirlpool, they need to complete a four-piece puzzle in the front pedestal of the room. There is a small model of a fire placed on the front pedestal, split into four movable pieces. The players must take four puzzle pieces from the back of the room that form the picture of a puddle when placed properly. Placing all four puzzle pieces correctly will push down the entire fire model and open the door to the Shrine. On the other hand, to enter the Wild Whirlpool, contestants simply tug an oversized burnt palm leaf to open the downward door.
The Wild Whirlpool— A pool of foamy water (blue, white, and gray plastic balls). Players must either climb the slide up to the Forest Fire Room, climb the ladder to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, or plow through the wall into the Sacred Safari.
The Sacred Safari
The Spider's Lair
The Chameleon Chamber
The Mining Chamber

Layout Four
The Room of the Three Gargoyles
The Pit of Despair
The Mouth of the Jaguar
The Lion's Lair
The Lush Opening— Players can either push their way through a thick wall of plants to enter the room below or hit an actuator to access the adjacent rooms.
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Forest Fire Room
The Wild Whirlpool
The Sacred Safari
The Tropical Forest
The Chameleon Chamber
The Mining Chamber

Layout Five
The Room of the Three Gargoyles
The Pit of The Fallen Logs— The floor of the room is strewn with green and yellow plastic balls, foam blocks, and fallen logs. Players must simply maneuver through the mess to advance in the Temple. A set of vines assist in climbing the outer walls of the room.
The Mouth of the Jaguar
The Room of the Boulders— The entire room is strewn with large boulders (similar to those used in the Chute Toss team Temple Game used in Season Three of the original show). Contestants may exit the room by hitting the actuator for its corresponding door.
The Lush Opening
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Forest Fire Room
The Wild Whirlpool
The Sacred Safari
The Tropical Forest
The Chameleon Chamber
The Mining Chamber

Dive into the second season of Wild Jungle, and it's hotter than ever - you've landed in a new tropical paradise of a temple. Exotic creatures prowl, slither, swim, and squawk their way through the heated, mist-filled temple, and every now and then, you might just find yourself in a curtain of plant life or two. Mind your step as you wade through pools of water!

Season Two
Layout One
The Room of the Tropicana Birds— Three tropical birds are placed along the outer walls of the room with large orange beaks on each. Players must push down on the top part of the beak of the correct bird to open the door.
The Jungle Crevice— Two stone slabs are placed on either side of the room. Players can swing across the crevice on a vine or jump down into the pit of foam blocks below. They may then hit an actuator to open its corresponding door.
The Mouth of the Jaguar
The Lion's Lair— All that has changed is that the wallpaper’s yellow color has been changed to ochre.
The Vine Drop (2)— Essentially a combination of the two previous rooms occupying this room space. Players can either push down a wall of plant growth in the center of the room to climb down into the room below or tug on the vines hanging from the ceiling. The correct vine opens the side doors.
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Catfish Cove— If players enter from the Falls, players must unhook a fish from the outer walls of the room and place it on the correct of the three pedestals at the front of the room. If players wish to access the Falls, they would simply need to hit an actuator to open the door.
The Falls— An icy blue spiral slide connecting the Catfish Cove and the Secret Spring. Players simply need to climb up or down the tunnel.
The Secret Spring— All that has changed from the Wild Whirlpool is that the plastic balls in the room have been changed to darker blue and green.
The Sacred Safari— The lighting in this room has been dimmed considerably.
The Tropical Forest— The green lights in this room have been dimmed to create a “scarier” atmosphere.
The Chameleon Chamber
The Mining Chamber— The front entrance of the room accessible only in Season One has been blocked off with a pile of gold. Players may now enter the room via a slide behind Olmec.

The Room of the Tropicana Birds
The Jungle Crevice
The Mouth of the Jaguar
The Anaconda's Sanctuary— Players must grab a large rubber snake off the front ledge and feed it into the correct of the two holes in the side walls of the room.

The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Catfish Cove
The Falls
The Secret Spring
The Abandoned Camp— A central wooden cage is placed on a rock ledge in the center of the room. Players must smash it open to grab the magnetic key in the inside to open the doors, or plow through the stone wall to enter the Secret Spring.
The Tropical Forest
The Treasury of the Monkeys— Three bunches of fruit (either bananas or grapes) are hung off the rungs of the ladder upward. To open the doors, a contestant must place the correct bunch on the altar in the front of the room. Once they do so, the altar glows green and a monkey’s scream is heard.
The Mining Chamber

Layout Three
The Room of the Tropicana Birds
The Jungle Crevice
The Wildebeest's Hideout— In place of a jaguar head is a wildebeest head with two rotatable horns. To open the doors, players must spin the correct of the two horns.

The Vine Drop (2)
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Catfish Cove— Players now need to take the elevator to the Lion Cage if they wish to head downward.
The Lion Cage
The Secret Woods— The Secret Woods are a dark, burned-down area of an old abandoned forest. Players must peel off the top of a rotting log in the front of the room to find the key or plow through the stone wall to the Lion Cage.
The Tropical Forest
The Treasury of the Monkeys
The Tigers' Den— This room is more like the Cave of Sighs, with sharper and more jagged rockwork. However, the rock is now a sandy brown and lit by faint yellow-orange lights.

The Forest of a Thousand Dragons— The room is very dim, lit by a few green lights. A magnetic key is hidden in the mouth of one of six dragons placed around the room. Alternatively, players may break through the stone wall to the Lion Cage.
The Grand Marsh— The green lights have been moved out of this room area again. This room resembles the Swamp from Season Two of the original show but with two large alligators in the back of the room. The correct alligator has a large tongue that will unroll when its mouth is open. Pulling the tongue opens a door.

The Anaconda's Sanctuary
The Elephant's Cave— The players must open up three boxes at the front of the room in search of the large peanut. Then they have to take it and place it one of three elephant's (blue, purple, and pink) mouths and close it. If it is the right elephant, the mouth will stay shut and the doors will open. If it's not, then the mouth will release again. When the doors do open, a loud roar of delight from an elephant can be heard.
The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
The Catfish Cove— On top of the addition of large wooden buckets placed on the front pedestals, players must now complete the room’s objective heading either way.
The Secret Spring
The Forest of a Thousand Dragons
The Grand Marsh
The Treasury of the Monkeys
The Vine Drop (3)— In the Vine Drop’s newest location, players must pull down the correct of three vines to raise a stone slab blocking access to the Treasury of the Monkeys.

The Walk of Faith
The Wildebeest's Hideout
The Anaconda's Sanctuary
The Lion Cave— The players must place themselves into one of three lion heads placed on the back of the room and rest their backs on an actuator in the back of the head. If it's the right actuator, the doors open and a loud roar is heard. Like the Room of the Ancient Warriors, the Temple Guards hide behind the walls which the suits are mounted on.

Soundstage 18 / Clockwork EP: Benjamin/Rachel/Jeffrey
« on: December 18, 2010, 05:18:29 PM »
NOTE: This is an episode of a completely fan-made game show called Clockwork. Any comments or complaints about the project as a whole should be posted here.

Clockwork Episode 8 (108D)
Benjamin vs.Rachel vs. Jeffrey

The camera fades in to reveal a man standing in front of a large blank screen. "Hello, world!" he says. "I'm Josh Painter"welcome to Clockwork!" The audience is seen cheering before the camera cuts back to Josh, this time a shot with a view of his podium too.

"This is the show," he says once the audience quiets down, "where contestants just complete simple stunts and answer some simple questions to win. So, without further ado, let"s meet our players!"

A view of a crazily-colored wall is shown, and it spins round to reveal three contestants behind three lecterns which slide out onto the main set. "And here they are!"announces Josh, and the camera begins to pan through the players as he introduces them.

"Dressed in red is the 12-year-old Benjamin! He is an inventor and he also plays basketball on his middle school"s team!"

"Dressed in blue is the 12-year-old Rachel! She loves painting and sketching, but she"s also played acoustic guitar for six years."

"And dressed in yellow is the 13-year-old Jeffrey! He collects DVDs and old videotapes, and he loves to rollerblade all around his neighborhood. Let"s hear it for today"s players!" The audience gets even louder, then quiets down as the camera fades back to close-ups of Josh and the three players.

"Okay, let"s begin our game, shall we"" continues Josh. "We"re gonna start off by playing a game called "Beat the Alarm". I"m gonna ask a question worth $25 and the first player answer it correctly must pick a card on the TV screen"" Josh turns around and points at his backdrop, which comes to life and displays five cards ""and perform the stunt on it for $50. But remember, if the stunt isn"t completed, the next player can buzz in and steal that money. Let"s begin with our first $25 question""

He asks: "Here"s a math question to start off with" what is the cube root of 64""

After a short pause, Rachel rings in: "Um, four""

"Correct," replies Josh, the audience cheering as he does so. "Okay, pick a card, any card."

"That one," says Rachel, pointing to the second card from the right. "Let"s take a look at your choice," Josh says in response, taking the card that prints out of his podium. He reads: "This is a job that will surely please; it"s your chance to be the big cheese. It"s The Big Cheese, down here"follow me, right down this way"" He leads Rachel down a set of steps onto the sunken stunt floor, and then walks her over to a circular tank filled with a yellow-orange liquid.

"This is a very simple stunt," he then explains, "but that doesn"t mean it"s such an easy one. Inside that vat is a small ball that looks like this"" He holds up a small silver pinball to demonstrate ""and it"s your job to find it. You can dive in, you can stay out, you can throw that cheese out of there, but I want you to find that ball in 15 seconds or less, and if you do, you get 50 bucks. How"d that be""

"Uh" nice," laughs Rachel. "It would be indeed," agrees Josh. "All right! On your mark, get set" GO!"

On this word, Rachel kneels down in front of the vat and begins searching around with her hands. "She"s gonna use her hands," narrates Josh. [0:11] She continues searching with her hands only, unwilling to climb inside, but now swiping around in the vat more violently. "Okay, NOW she"s starting to move," says Josh, with six seconds remaining. She continues to move her hands about in the cheese"but a horn sounds and time"s up!

"Ooh"" laments Josh. "Didn"t quite make it, but that's all right, she could regain that money with a $75 question, and lots more mess coming up today on Clockwork! Stick around!" The screen switches to a montage of clips, before the logo appears and the screen fades out with the theme music ending in a clock-ticking sound.

The Moat / I've Had it with Forumer
« on: November 12, 2010, 04:34:56 PM »
The slowness, the problems, the downtime, and now, the just general behavior of the Forumer staff make them look like the biggest assholes in the world.

Let's review the list of problems that we have encountered:
? Audio advertisements
? Unauthorized redirects of the page to advertisements
? Malware encountered in advertisements
? Popup to download virus-infected file
? Extremely slow after-post redirects
? Extremely slow?essentially unloadable?forum
? Inability to log in and post
? Text advertisements at the top and bottom of the page

And now, integrated with that last annoying little bitch, we have this message:
Quote
Reminder for Forumer admins: remember that in order to keep your forum active and working you must login and post at least once a month.
Reminder for Forumer users: if suddenly you cannot make new posts, the reason may be that your admin has let the forum become inactive by not logging on and posting.

Phantom, if you actually read this, I want you to know that I am in no way trying to treat your personal life as something trivial. I understand that everyone, even forum administrators, are entitled to their own life outside of the internet. That life is far more important.

But if you really are unable to make the commitment of keeping our forum active by posting at least once a month, for whatever reason it is, we really need to move off of Forumer. It's the only logical solution. If Forumer's given us - and continues to give us - all these annoying issues, and now if they give us a near-impossible rule to follow, we need to find a good, safe, stable, understanding forum host so that we can continue to post in HAPPINESS. It's seriously like Forumer WANTS us to leave them.

I will try and make a complaint to Forumer about this ridiculous new rule, but I highly doubt they will change it, looking at their previous responses to complaints.

Soundstage 18 / BrainSurge is becoming so popular...
« on: October 22, 2010, 01:27:38 AM »
... that they made a ride out of it!

Being a big fan of the amusement industry, I'm embarrassed that I haven't heard of it yet (and hopefully this isn't old news :P) but, yes, Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America has opened a BrainSurge-themed ride:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_X_bE_Uj-bU

I think that this is very good for the show. Hopefully this proves that game shows can still attract kids from the 21st century, and well enough so that they can open a ride themed after the show! I hope this means that BrainSurge will be here for at least a third season, and hopefully a few more, so that a possible new game show from Nick will be given the green light. This is definitely an improvement over the previous years for Nickelodeon.

Granted, the ride doesn't really incorporate the show's theme well, but game shows are a very difficult theme to work with, and I think Nickelodeon did a fairly good job - it's not an iCarly ride, am I right?

Opinions?
