Well, the Metallica lyrics explanation book I have suggests it's supposed to read like the draft of a suicide note.  At least, according to a description of the song given by Lars, anyway. :P

Gamma Ray - "Time To Break Free"


It's funny how this was my least favorite song on Land Of The Free the first time around, and now I can't get it out of my head. :lol: I didn't even realize it was a different vocalist at first, since it was my first time listening to Gamma Ray at the time (and I still haven't checked out Helloween, whose former vocalist is actually singing on this one).

I think the awesomely heavy riffing in this one makes it the least of the evils compared to "1,320' ," "Bite The Hand," and "The Right To Go Insane" as far as tacked-on solos go.

Not quite as good as the "Strato-" instrumental series; I think it just changes a bit too spontaneously, which makes it hard to follow or fully enjoy like the others.
