The camera makes its way through lush greenery, and the palms move away as ambient animal noises are heard. Portions of a temple are shown, and suddenly the jungle ends, and we see Olmec?s face light up and shout, ?LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!?

The show?s title card?a pendant of life?crashes together on the screen, and the camera shifts to focus on the temple and its rooms. ?With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now!?

The pendant splinters and Kirk is seen crawling out of the Jungle Crevice to run right into the center of the stage and up the Steps of Knowledge as he begins his narration.

?Thank you, thank you!? says Kirk. ?It's nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to the Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today??

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Copper Crown of the Viking King!?

?Ooh, the Copper Crown of the Viking Vi? Viking King,? stumbles Kirk. ?Boy, that was a real tongue twister? But one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Copper Crown?will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?The Blue Barracudas??
?The Green Monkeys??
?The Orange Iguanas??
?The Purple Parrots??
?Or the Silver Snakes??

?They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests,? continues Kirk, ?and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec?s gonna tell us how they have to do it today.?

Olmec instructs:
?Before you, an ancient post protrudes from the water, and in front of it is an old vine. When Kirk gives the signal, climb up the ladder and balance yourself on top of the pole. Then, grab the rope and swing out to the other platform, and slide down onto the deck. Then your partner will climb up the post, swing out to the platform and slide onto deck. When the second player reaches the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?Teams?are you ready?? asks Kirk loudly.

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?Since the stone age,? replies Olmec.

?Alright then,? says Kirk. ?On your marks, get set? GO!?

The six teams climb their ladders, with the Red Jaguars taking a clear lead. ?Oh, it?s slippery today!? comments Kirk as the mist rises up of the Moat. The camera then switches to a shot, and all six teams are swinging across with about even speed. ?Now they have to get to the other side? Noooo! Orange Iguanas fell in, now they have to go back, try again?? Indeed, the Orange Iguanas are the only team not to make it to the platform and after the second batch of teammates swing across, the gongs start chiming unanimously. ?Here they come!? yells Kirk. ?One? two? three? We?ve got our four teams, right here!?

Kirk runs over to The Silver Snakes onscreen. ?Nice job Silver Snakes,? he says, ?they had no trouble at all? Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes?? Kirk pauses between each time to let the audience applaud. ??and the Orange Iguanas?and the Green Monkeys?and the Blue Barracudas.

?The Purple Parrots and the Red Jaguars gave it a great effort too,? he continues, ?and they?re not going away empty handed. We?re gonna send them away with a great gift?here?s what it is.?

Wild Jungle EP: The Copper Crown of the Viking King
« Reply #1 on: June 12, 2010, 10:20:30 PM »
The screen transitions to a shot of the four teams atop the Steps of Knowledge. ?As the quest continues,? says Kirk, ?it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about The Copper Crown of the Viking King. But teams?pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s temple.?

Olmec narrates the legend:
?The most powerful Viking to rule Europe was Cnut the Great. He was a prince of Denmark but rose to power in England in 1016. Soon enough, he became one of England?s most successful kings. Two years later, King Harald the Second, had just died in Denmark and Cnut was set to be the next king. Legend has it, his head servant had just found out that a copper crown had been made for Cnut.

??What is this?!? he exclaimed when he saw the dirty-colored crown. ?Who is responsible for this?!?

?The rest of Cnut?s servants just stood with their mouths closed. Just at that moment, Cnut entered the room. With one look at the copper crown, he exploded with surprise and anger.

??Why is my crown made of copper?!? he bellowed at the servant. ??I?m to be King of Denmark, not a little boy playing dress-up with his friends! You?re fired!?

?Cnut indeed received a real gold crown, but the copper crown remained in the hands of his head servant. Years later, it found its way to the temple! Your quest is to retrieve the Copper Crown of the Viking King and bring it back here.?

?Thanks, Olmec,? says Kirk after a short pause, ?so tell us?where is the Copper Crown??

?The Copper Crown of the Viking King can be found in the SHRINE of the Silver Moooonkey?? exclaims Olmec. The camera pans across the top floor of the temple, zooming in on the copper crown sitting on a shelf in the Shrine.

?Alright, then,? says Kirk. ?Teams?you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec?s gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level, but if you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m gonna have to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams that make it to the bottom level?? Kirk runs down the steps, then walks out of view ??will be one step closer to Olmec?s temple. Olmec, we?re now ready for your first question??

Olmec asks: ?Did Cnut the Great start off as a prince in: Denmark, England, or Norway??

The Silver Snakes buzz in: ?England??

?Incorrect,? replies Olmec.

The Blue Barracudas ring in: ?Denmark??

?That is correct,? declares Olmec. ?All right, step down, Blue Barracudas!? says Kirk. ?Next question??

Olmec asks: ?Are people of Denmark known as: Denmarkean, Danish, or??

The Blue Barracudas stomp down: ?Danish!?

?That is correct!? booms Olmec. ?Just like that, the Blue Barracudas are just one step away from the temple games!? exclaims Kirk. ?Olmec, next question.?

Olmec asks: ?Cnut was a Viking??

The Green Monkeys ring in: ?Viking!?

?That is not one of our three choices,? replies Olmec. ?Cnut was a Viking. Do Vikings usually put: teeth on their helmets, horns on their helmets, or animal hide on their??

The Orange Iguanas stomp down: ?Horns!?

?That is correct!? says Olmec. ?There we go!? says Kirk in response. ?Next question, Olmec??

Olmec asks: ?According to legend, who did Cnut fire: his head servant, his cook, or his??

The Blue Barracudas hit the marking: ?His head servant???

?That is correct!? shouts Olmec. ?We?ve got our first team going on to the temple games!? yells Kirk as the team jumps down onto the final step and high-tens each other. ?It?s the Blue Barracudas! They?re all fired up! We?re still looking for one more team, though? so next question, Olmec!?

Olmec asks: ?In which country would you have most likely found a Viking: Ireland??

The Green Monkeys interject: ?Ireland??

?That is correct!? replies Olmec. ?All right, step down there, Green Monkeys!? instructs Kirk. ?They?re on the board now?there?s still plenty of time for the Silver Snakes, though. Who?s gonna be our second team? Let?s find out?Olmec, next question!?

Olmec asks: ?What was the name of the Danish king that Cnut replaced: Herod, Harald, or??

The Orange Iguanas ring in: ?Harald???

?You are correct,? declares Olmec. ?The Orange Iguanas are just one step away from the temple games!? narrates Kirk. ?Olmec, next question.?

Olmec asks: ?Did Cnut rise to power in England in: 1015, 1016, or 1017??

The Green Monkeys buzz in: ?1017???

?Incorrect,? says Olmec.

The Orange Iguanas stomp down: ?1015!?

?That is incorrect,? announces Olmec. ?The correct answer was 1016.?

?All right, go easy on them, Olmec,? advises Kirk. ?Next question??

Olmec asks: ?According to legend, what was Cnut?s new crown made??

The Orange Iguanas cut him off: ?Gold!?

?That is correct!? yells Olmec. ?These two teams are going to the temple games!? announces Kirk loudly as he jumps up onto the bottom step to congratulate the winning teams. ?It?s the Blue Barracudas? and the Orange Iguanas! Silver Snakes, Green Monkeys? it was a hard-fought match; we?re not sending you away empty-handed, though?we?ve got a great gift for you and here?s what it is.?

Dee reads the prize:
?British Knights! Makers of BK Ratchtech with cyberglow. BK Ratchtech?prepare? to mutate.?

The screen wipes to reveal Kirk with his hands on the two remaining teams? shoulders. ?These two teams are going head-to-head for the right to enter Olmec?s temple!? yells Kirk, ?and they?re gonna do it?right after this!? We zoom out from the close-up all the way back to the front ledge of the Vine Drop. The show?s logo appears onscreen, and then we fade to commercial.

Wild Jungle EP: The Copper Crown of the Viking King
« Reply #2 on: June 12, 2010, 10:20:48 PM »
The camera zooms out from a close-up shot of Olmec?s right eye, then swings around to reveal a wide shot of the entire set facing the Moat and the audience.

?Welcome back to Legends,? says Kirk, standing in front of The Jungle Crevice with the two remaining teams. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest?so let?s hear it for Adam and Ashley of the Blue Barracudas? and Ferguson and Amy of the Orange Iguanas!? The audience applauds for the four players.

?All right, then?go get ready for your games?? Kirk directs the players in different directions as the walk away ?? and I?ll explain what?s gonna happen.

?In the temple games, teams are competing for pendants of life?? Kirk grabs a pendant out of his pouch and holds it up to the camera. ?The winning team will need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards, as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games, and Olmec will tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Olmec explains:
?All kings need a crown?and back here, we have four new kings to be crowned. When Kirk gives the signal, crawl out and grab a crown, turn around and place it on a head. Then crawl out and grab the next crown. On your journeys, you must avoid the swinging boulder?and if you are hit, you must return to the start and begin again. The first team to crown all four kings, or the player that?s further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?

?Let?s hope they?re not made of copper, like Cnut?s?? comments Kirk. ?On your m? No, actually, let?s put 60 seconds on the clock first!?

The clock slams down in the corner of the screen. ?All right, now it?s time for the game,? laughs Kirk. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? On this word, both players begin to crawl quickly along the footpath, with Amy getting hit by the boulder, which she didn?t manage to avoid in time. ?Oh no, Orange Iguanas gotta go back,? comments Kirk, ?that gives an opening for the Blue Barracudas!? [0:49] By this point, Ashley has already returned her first crown to the basket, and the camera zooms in on it? to show that it is in fact copper-colored. As Amy brings her first crown back, Ashley is already halfway on her way to her second, but gets hit by the boulder just moments before laying hands on it. [0:33] ?Boulders are flying, crowns are slipping here and there?  there?s a lot of things that could distract you in this game?? comments Kirk. ?All right, the Blue Barracudas are catching up again!? Amy has now regained the lead, and as 12 seconds remain on the clock, the score is 3-2 orange, but the blue ties it up quickly? two seconds before the clock explodes and time is up!

?That?s it!? says Kirk a couple of seconds after the boulders stop swinging. ?We?re gonna count up the scores now? all right, we?ve got one? two? three crowns on the blue? and? one? two? THREE crowns on the orange! It?s a tie?they each get the half pendant of life!? The audience cheers briefly at this, as the two girls tiredly give each other a high-five. ?The second game is also worth a half-pendant,? continues Kirk, ?and Olmec will tell us about that one too, right, Olmec??

Olmec narrates:
?To make a new crown for Cnut, servants went all over the country searching for gold. Now you will do some treasure hunting of your own! When Kirk gives the signal, rummage through the rubble in the pit in front of you. If you find a piece of gold, pull it out and bring it back to your treasure chest. The team who collects the most pieces of gold at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?

?Be careful, teams,? says Kirk mysteriously. ?Alright, let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?

The clock slams down into position. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? Both boys immediately jump into action, clawing at the foam blocks and colored balls in front of them, mess flying all over the place. Something glistens as it flies out of the pit?Adam?s thrown out a piece of gold! ?There?s a piece!? says Kirk. ?You missed it?it flew out, it?s right there? there ya go!? [0:44] The Orange Iguanas find their first piece shortly after, but not before the Blue Barracudas find their third piece. Rubble is now strewn all around the area, with the two players ferociously searching for the gold pieces. ?It?s 5-2 blue now!? commentates Kirk. [0:21] There seems to be a desperation in Ferguson?s face as a jib camera flies past it, as he violently throws the rubble out of the pit, uncovering two more gold pieces that he returns to his basket. Adam bags another piece, and as Ferguson wildly tries to find another, time runs out.

?Okay, stop right there!? announces Kirk, running over to the baskets. ?Let?s count up the scores here? The Blue Barracudas have? one, two, three, four, five, six pieces of gold? and the Orange Iguanas have? one, two, three, FOUR pieces of gold?the Blue Barracudas get the half pendant of life! That gives them a full pendant; the Orange Iguanas have a half. The next game is the third and final game, it?s worth a full pendant, and Olmec, will tell us about it. Olmec??

Olmec continues:
?Vikings often sailed the seas in their large, long ships. Before each team stands a Viking ship bound for Newfoundland, and it?s your job to sail it there. When Kirk gives the signal, roll your boat down the ramp and paddle your way to the island. Once there, turn your boat around, grab the lifesaver, and pull yourself back. But be careful?if your feet touch the water, you must go back and start again. The first team to land all four feet on the dock, or the team that?s further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?

?Whoever wins this goes to the temple,? reminds Kirk. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.?

The clock slams down into the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set?GO!? Both boats roll down the ramp and across the floor at breakneck speed. ?It?s a close fight!? commentates Kirk, ?and no one?s giving up the lead.? [0:52] But at this point, there isn?t a lead when both teams reach the island?that is, until Ashley steps out of the boat to grab the lifesaver and the judges send the Blue Barracudas back. ?Oh, no, this might mean the Orange Iguanas may make it!? says Kirk as he states the obvious outcome at this point. ?And they?ve made it!? he yells as Ferguson and Amy jump onto the dock before jumping up and down in excitement.

?All right, nice job, guys,? congratulates Kirk, ?Blue Barracudas, come over here too? all right? Well, the Orange Iguanas made it back first, so they get the full pendant of life?that gives them one and a half pendants, then Blue Barracudas had one? the Orange Iguanas are goin? to the temple!? The crowd cheers and claps as the Ferguson hugs a screaming Amy.

?An excellent team we have right here,? says Kirk as he high-fives the Orange Iguanas, ?as well as the Blue Barracudas over here?they made a great effort, and they?re not going away empty handed. Here?s what we have for them??

Dee reads the prize:
?It?s a $500 savings bond from Nestle! Hey, kids?here?s an easy act to follow. Turn an ordinary glass into a thick chocolatey treat. Nestle Quik?it?s magic in the making!?

?This team is excited!? comments Kirk, pointing at the camera. ?And they?re gonna take on Olmec?s temple, retrieve the Copper Crown of the Viking King? right after this!? The camera does a rapid zoom-out from the dock, eventually ending up as a wide angle of the entire temple games floor with the temple in the background. The pendant crashes together, and the screen fades to black as the outro finishes.

Wild Jungle EP: The Copper Crown of the Viking King
« Reply #3 on: June 12, 2010, 10:23:56 PM »
The pendant logo splits to reveal a shaky shot moving along the bottom floor of the temple, and then we fade to Kirk with his hands on the Orange Iguanas? shoulders.

?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?The Orange Iguanas have proven themselves worthy and now have earned the right to enter Olmec?s temple. But first, Olmec?s going to give them some information to help them retrieve The Copper Crown of the Viking King.?

Olmec begins his rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Tigers' Den and climbing down into the Jungle Crevice. Crawl through the pit, then race into the Treasury of the Monkeys. Find the right bunch of bananas, and you could choose to go up into the Anaconda's Sanctuary, or into the Grand Marsh. Open the crocodiles? mouths to find the tongue, and you might have a chance to enter The Forest? of a Thousand Dragons. Reach into the dragon?s mouths and find the key?but be careful: one of the dragons might be inhabited by the spirit of a Temple Guard! If they grab you, you?ll have to give up a Pendant of Life. Next, plow through the wall and into the Lion Cage.

?There, ride the elevator up, and into the Catfish Cove. Find the correct bucket, and open the door to the Shriiiiine?of the Silver Monkey?where you can grab the Copper Crown of the Viking King. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Vine Drop. Pull the vines to open the doors, and race up to the Wildebeests' Hideout. Turn the correct horn, and swing on the vine across the Jungle Crevice. Then, pass thru the Room of the Tropicana Birds, race down the stairs, and back through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. You won two pendants in the temple games. Who's going first??

?I am!? shouts Amy.

?Very well, Amy!? replies Olmec. ?When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the temple, and make your way towards the Copper Crown. Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on but if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the temple...and it will be Ferguson?s turn to enter and try his luck. Hidden inside the temple is the other half of your pendant. If you can find it, and you?re carrying the other half, you will earn an extra life. If you can reach the Copper Crown, all the doors of the temple will instantly unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with The Copper Crown of the Viking King in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded?and here's how!?

Dee reads the team?s prizes:
?   For just going into the temple, you?ll both receive a digital camera! The Sony DSC-W380 features a 14 megapixel lens, customizable features, and video recording. It?s super clear and super steady, from Sony.
?   If you can grab the Copper Crown before three minutes is up, you?ll also receive a Diamondback bike! This all-terrain mountain bicycles come with lightweight aluminum bodies and 24 speeds. From Diamondback.
?   And if you can bring the Copper Crown out of the temple before three minutes is up, you?ll be going to Cancun! You?ll be staying at Krystal Cancun, the resort for beach lovers. With excursions to the Mayan ruins; it?s rich in history and rich in pleasure, from Krystal Cancun.

?Krystal Cancun!? yells Kirk excitedly in a Mexican accent. ?Let?s see if we can get them there. Olmec, lower your gate!?

The gate lowers as Olmec moans and the lights around him switch off. ?And let?s put three minutes on the clock!?

The clock slams down into the corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set? GO!?

?There she goes, up into the temple!? commentates Kirk as Amy runs up the steps of the temple and disappears behind Olmec. ?Looks like she?s going down? down into the Led?uh, Tiger?s Den!? She crawls through the small gap leading to the open spaces inside the cave, then hits the actuator and opens the door leading to the lower crawl tube. [2:50] ?She?s got to hurry up if she wants to make it to that Copper Crown!? says Kirk, as she enters the Jungle Crevice, stumbling a little as she crawls to the entrance of the Treasury of the Monkeys. Amy hits the actuator of its door, but it refuses to open after a few attempts. ?She?s got to climb now?? explains Kirk, as Amy begins to grip the holes in the Crevice?s wall to reach the ledge, but has quite some trouble in doing so. After much effort, she finally reaches the ledge and hits the actuator to the door of the Anaconda?s Sanctuary, which then opens.

[2:24] Amy crawls into passageway between the two rooms, then enters the Anaconda?s Sanctuary? right as the first TEMPLE GUARD flips open the door of his hiding place and gives Amy a shock? evident by her loud screaming. ?Woah!? exclaims Kirk. ?Scared her, scared me? but she?s giving him the pendant and moving on!? She grabs the rubber snake from the ledge, and then tries to jam it into the stage-left hole, without much luck with her force. After a while, she finally feeds the snake into the ?nest?, and the upward door opens in unison with the door to the Vine Drop. [2:01] ?She?s heading into the Vine Drop!? comments Kirk, as Amy enters the crawl space to the Vine Drop. As soon as she enters the room, a loud noise indicates the downward door has opened, and she immediately steps into the plants to climb downward. [1:47] As she disappears into the foliage, the camera zooms in on the half-pendant hanging on the vine closest to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.

Amy descends into the Grand Marsh, where she is immediately confused, trying to hit the now-inactive actuators on the doors. ?Open the crocodile mouths!? advises Kirk twice, until Amy does so. The stage-left mouth is empty, but as she flips open the stage-right mouth, a long tongue rolls out of it. [1:26] ?Pull on it!? yells Kirk when Amy looks backward at the camera again, and she turns around and pulls on it, allowing a beam of green light to penetrate the open door in the left wall. ?Go! Into the Forest of a Thousand Dragons!? says Kirk, as Amy begins to make her way through the foam pellets and pulls herself through the door. [1:18] She appears in the room a few seconds later, and pulls down the mouth of a red, scaly dragon near the door, with nothing inside. She opens the mouth of the dragon crouching in the stage-right corner of the room, which is also empty, then runs and dives through the stone wall, using her hands to push it down. Right as she lands in the tarp mess on the Lion Cage?s floor, the temple guard door in the back opens and a second TEMPLE GUARD takes her out of the temple with 55 seconds left on the clock.

?Oh, go, Ferguson, go!? yells Kirk as he urges Ferguson forward into the temple, who then runs up the steps and slides down into the Tiger?s Den. He navigates the ledges, then he quickly crawls through the tube to the Jungle Crevice. [0:42] ?He?s going to have to make up some big time if he wants to get to that crown!? says Kirk, as Ferguson climbs the wall of the room up to the ledge. He crawls into the Anaconda?s Sanctuary, stands up momentarily, but crouches down again to enter the Vine Drop with 26 seconds left on the clock. He quickly heads down through the wall of plants, missing the half-pendant in the process, and then jumps down into the swampy grounds of the Grand Marsh. ?Keep moving!? comments Kirk, as Ferguson enters the Forest of a Thousand Dragons as time runs down. [0:11] He steps into the Lion Cage, avoiding the fallen blocks, and climbs the ladder up to the Shrine. ?One room away!? yells Kirk. ?Can he get the crown?? But as he is halfway up, the ceiling lights flash and the clock explodes to signify that TIME IS UP!

?Oh? they were so close!? groans Kirk. ?Well, they still get the digital cameras?they each get a camera?and I know they had a good time? I did too. We?re outta time?seeya next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle style! Buh-bye!?

The credits begin to scroll as various ending scenes are shown: the pile of rubble in the Lion Cage, the Copper Crown still in the Shrine, and Kirk with the team standing in front of the temple steps. Finally, the camera fades out, and the light bulb-Nickelodeon logo is shown as an electric buzzing noise is heard.

Wild Jungle EP: The Copper Crown of the Viking King
« Reply #4 on: June 12, 2010, 10:33:43 PM »
Artifact Name: The Copper Crown of the Viking King
Location: The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
Result: Ran out of Time
Time Remaining: N/A
Pendants Won: 1.5
Diagram:

Summary:

Quite honestly, an uninteresting episode overall, much like the previous. The Moat crossing was simple and over in less than half a minute. Even during the legend, Kirk seemed quite tired and uninterested, not even commenting on Olmec's enthusiastic "SHRIIIIIIINE" announcement.

The temple games, however, did feature a unique new temple game that involved digging for items (in this episode pieces of gold) in a pit full of blocks and plastic balls that almost completely covered the gold pieces, which were quite hard to find among the mess. With a tied first game, and the Blue Barracudas winning the second game, it seemed like the Blue Barracudas had a good chance of going to the temple. But for probably the only time in Legends history, the Blue Barracudas violated a rule of the final game, the boat race game, and were sent back, inevitably sending the Orange Iguanas to the temple.

Amy and Ferguson were nowhere near the best team in the world. I admit, the layout isn't the simplest ever either, but I was expecting an artifact grab at the very least. But Amy spent 40 full seconds in the first two rooms in the temple, the bulk of it from climbing the wall in the Jungle Crevice. She didn't pick up much speed afterward, and looked confused in several rooms, looking at the camera guy on more than one occasion during her time in the temple. She was finally taken out from the temple after about two minutes and five seconds by a guard in the Lion Cage. Ferguson barely made progress from where Amy left off as time was too little for him, however fast he tried to move.
