Rate the Purple Parrot Run - Day 11: The Milk Bucket of Freydis

I gave this run a 9. Freydis is by far, THE best Purple Parrot run ever, and one of the best episodes of all time. So what if Tarrah moved a little slow and got confused at one point? She was very competent and knew what she was doing. This temple run (or least the layout) may be an exact replica of Buddha, but this one was MUCH more memorable and exciting. Plus, you gotta love Tarrah's leap across the Pit and her breaking the bucket in the process. Epic moment right there. And what a trooper she was lugging the broken up bucket through the Ledges, and still scoring a solo win with only one second left. Tarrah may have been little, but she was a great player and deserved to win.

I gave Milk Bucket a 10. To me, this is the best of the best for the Purple Parrots.    I love this run a lot for Tarrah's underrated performance and the very exciting ending. I don't understand how people call her slow and her win lucky yet actually find a way to praise wins like Ahmed Baba and Buddha. Tarrah handled her layout just fine. Not every contestant has to move like Gator. She completed her rooms at a good pace. Her strongest point was when she took a faceplant in the Pit and still managed to recover from it and bring the bulky Milk Bucket though the Ledges and back to the gate for the win! Like the Paintbrush said, she was a trooper for taking a hit and still bringing the Bucket to the temple gates. That is more than what Jason or Ron could say. This win was very exciting and Tarrah was one of my most favorite female players. Her win deserves a perfect score.

I think I might give it a perfect 10 myself. Even though I gave it a 9 in the wins thread. I don't know, is 9 really an accurate score?

If we are comparing Freydis to other wins, then I say a 9 is fitting. But since we are comparing it to other Purple Parrot runs, I feel that it is the best of the best for them. Which is why I gave it a 10.

If I were to rank all 11 Purple Parrot runs, this is probably the order I'd put them in. Maybe switch Metal Beard and Billy the Kid, and Bone Necklace and Henry Hudson. Not much else to say except like most charts, it can pretty much do all the talking.

And thanks for everyone for participating in this rather short thread. I hope you guys had just as much fun voting in this as I did updating it. Any special thanks and final thoughts can go in here.

Thanks for hosting this, Paintbrush.  For the most part, most of the Purple Parrot episodes seem to be well-liked around here. I like all of their episodes except for Lost Lion Tail and Oracle Bowl to an extent. Most of their episodes were classics for one reason or another. They are probably the only team too where their wins were the best of the best. Every other team at least has one win that no one really thinks highly of. The Purple Parrots are memorable on this forum especially. People like you, Olmec, TPP, and Brent have made the Purple Parrots memorable. Especially TPP, I wouldn't have known so many little trivia if it wasn't for him.

Yeah, because TPP used to write all those episode summaries in the Daily Episode Log. Boy, those were the days, wasn't it? His and Olmec's summaries were always the best, since they were always so detailed. And yeah, all three Purple Parrot wins are pretty well liked around here. Even if they do get some criticism at times. I also agree that Lost Lion Tail and Oracle Bowl were the two clear weakest links. Sacred Ring's temple run was pretty bad too, but at least the rest of the episode was interesting.

Also, I was gonna make a small comparisons chart for the Purple Parrot runs you managed to rank in your original thread. I know you never finished it, but I figured I could compare the old scores for the ones you did manage to cover. Would that be a good idea? Since it was part of this thread too.

I love rereading TPP's reviews in the Daily Episode Log. They were very detailed for their time and most of his opinion I agree with even today. I especially loved his excessive love with the Purple Parrots and how he hated teams like Xerxes, Smashed Printing Plate, Golden Cricket Cage, and Enormous Feather. And I agree with him too.  He did have a few weird episode choices that he liked like Cosa Rara, Bent Shaving Pan, and Lost Lion Tail. Can't say that I agree with him there, but I guess some people have different tastes. Looking back at Olmec's reviews, I have to admit that he always copied TPP. He always liked the same exact episodes as TPP to the point where it seemed like a carbon copy.

But I support the rankings, even though I originally only went up to Sultan Suleiman. At least we can compare the scores forBilly the Kid and Oracle Bowl, which are on two different spectrum.

Yeah, I agree. Those were the days. And so long ago too. Time really has flown by. Though I don't remember him saying anything positive about Bent Shaving Pan? Or Cosa Rara, I know for sure he HATED that episode. But it was so long ago, I don't remember. And I liked Olmec's episode summaries too. He was the one who wrote down advanced stats, something TPP never did. He did copy a little, but his episode summaries were good too. I mean, remember the ones I tried to write?

And as for the ones you ranked in your old topic, you only covered Sacred Ring, Oracle Bowl, Billy the Kid, and Bone Necklace. It would be interesting to compare those rankings. If you still want to see them posted that is.

It's only four episodes, and I didn't want to do it without your permission, since this was your idea first. So I thought I'd ask you if it was okay. If you don't want me to, I understand.
