« on: June 20, 2017, 03:14:50 PM »
This is one of the episodes of my L.o.t.H.T. revival prediction. For more info, click here.

Episode 1: The Hypnotic Flute of the Pied Piper

(Camera moves through a thick jungle taking two wrong turns and finally revealing King Olmec)

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple!

(Title card forms)

Olmec: With your guide, Kirk Fogg!

(Title card shatters)

Olmec: And here he is now! With…my good son, Zuma!

(Kirk and Zuma swing on ropes into the new Legends set)

Kirk: Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Thank you Olmec!

Zuma: Thank you very much father!

Kirk: Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we gonna hear about today?

Olmec: The legend of the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper.

Kirk: Oh, the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper. Well, the legend is set and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the hypnotic flute.

Zuma: Will it be:

(Camera shows each team cheering)

The Red Jaguars?

The Blue Barracudas?

The Green Monkeys?

The Orange Iguanas?

The Purple Parrots?

Or the Silver Snakes?

Kirk: They'll have to pass some pretty tough physical and mental tests, and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple. But first, the must cross the moat, and Olmec will tell them how they'll have to do it today.

Olmec: Before each of you is a wooden raft with an oar. When Zuma gives the signal, stand on the raft and paddle yourself to the other side. Then it will be your partner's turn to do the same. If you fall off, go back and start again. When both players have crossed the moat, run over and hit the gong. (Kirk and Zuma hit the Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes' gongs) The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round.

Zuma: Are you ready teams?

Teams: YEAH!

Kirk: Are you ready Olmec?

Olmec: Oh yeah!

Zuma: On your mark, get set, GO!

Green Monkeys - 0:21
Blue Barracudas - 0:34
Silver Snakes - 0:36
Red Jaguars - 0:47

Kirk: We've got our four teams right here! They are: The Red Jaguars, the Blue Barracudas, the Green Monkeys, and the Silver Snakes!

Zuma: The Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots will not go home empty-handed and we happen to have something for them.

Kirk: As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper. Pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the legend will bring you one step closer to Olmec's temple.

Olmec: In 1284, the town of Hamelin was suffering a terrible rat infestation. Nearly everyone was overrun with the vermin. Legend has it that one day, a man wearing pied clothing and a flute came along with a solution.

Piper: Listen Mayor, just leave it to me! I can use my special flute to get rid of every rat in this town!

Mayor: Ha! I'll believe it when I see it, but if you're not pullin' my leg, I'll make sure you get paid in full.

Olmec: Outside, the piper went straight to work, blaring a haunting melody on his flute. All the rats were immediately entranced and fled straight to him. He then led the rats into the Weser River, where they drowned. But after this, the Mayor withdrew his promise and the piper left with nothing. The next day, he played his flute again, this time luring away all the children. This caused the citizens to pay him several times the original price. His flute years later was discarded after his retirement, and made its way to the temple. Your quest is to find the flute, and bring it back here.Zuma: Thank you father, now tell us, where is this flute?

Olmec: The hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper can be found in the Throne Room.

Kirk: Teams, you're now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you'll move down to the next level. But if you're wrong or ran out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's temple. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question.

Olmec: In what year does the legend take place?

(Male Green Monkey rings in)

Zuma: Green Monkeys

Male Green Monkey: 1284.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Come on down!

(Green Monkeys move down)

Kirk: Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: The town of Hamelin is located in what country? Germany, Austria–?

(Male Red Jaguar rings in)

Zuma: Red Jaguars

Male Red Jaguar: Germany?

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Now you’re on the board!

(Red Jaguars move down)

Kirk: Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: What vermin infested the town? Frogs, rats, or cockroaches?

(Male Silver Snake rings in)

Zuma: Silver Snakes

Male Silver Snake: Rats.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Just like that! Now come on down!

(Silver Snakes move down)

Kirk: Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: Was the Pied Piper's profession…A rat catcher–?

(Male Blue Barracuda rings in)

Zuma: Blue Barracudas

Male Blue Barracuda: A rat catcher.

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Step down!

(Blue Barracudas move down)

Kirk: It’s all tied up now. Next question.

Olmec: What did the Pied Piper use to lure the rats out of town? Cheese–?

(Female Silver Snake rings in)

Zuma: Silver Snakes

Female Silver Snake: His flute.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Nice job! Come on down!

(Silver Snakes move down)

Kirk: Now you guys are one step away. Next question.

Olmec: Which river did the rats drown in?

(Male Blue Barracuda rings in)

Zuma: Blue Barracudas

Male Blue Barracuda: The Weser River.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Just like that! Step down!

(Blue Barracudas move down)

Kirk: You guys are now one step away. Next question.

Olmec: When the Piper came back, did the Mayor…arrest him for witchcraft, not pay him–?

(Male Green Monkey rings in)

Zuma: Green Monkeys

Male Green Monkey: He didn’t pay him.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Nice job!

(Green Monkeys move down)

Kirk: Now we’ve got a three-way tie on the second-to-last step. Next question.

Olmec: When he came back the next day, the Piper lured away the town's…

(Female Green Monkey rings in)

Zuma: Green Monkeys

Female Green Monkey: Children.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: We’ve got our first team! It’s the Green Monkeys!

(Green Monkeys move down, the female is excited and high fives and hugs her partner)

Kirk: We need one more team. Next question.

Olmec: Which of these is the German word for “Children?” Erwachsene, Jugendliche, or Kinder?

(Male Red Jaguar rings in)

Zuma: Red Jaguars

Male Red Jaguar: Kinder?

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Step down!

(Red Jaguars move down)

Kirk: Who’ll join the Green Monkeys? Next question.

Olmec: The flute is a musical instrument from what family? Woodwind–?

(Female Red Jaguar rings in)

Zuma: Red Jaguars

Female Red Jaguar: Woodwind.

Olmec: That is correct!

(Red Jaguars move down and cheer and celebrate with the Green Monkeys)

Kirk: We've got our two teams that are going head to head in the Temple Games! They are: The Red Jaguars! And the Green Monkeys!

Zuma: Blue Barracudas, Silver Snakes, none of you will go home empty-handed either. Here are your gifts for playing.

(New Laguna Sportswear prize plug is shown)

Kirk: These two teams will play for the right to enter Olmec’s Temple!

Zuma: They will do it right after these messages!

(Pendant forms and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” comes out from behind it)

(Pendant splits and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” zooms out)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, Zuma and I will have a talk with the team players. On the Green Monkeys we have:

Maggie: Maggie Whooley.

Kirk: How old are you Maggie?

Maggie: 13.

Kirk: It says here that you help your uncle a lot. Now tell me about that.

Maggie: Well he has a farm and I help him with the crops, collecting eggs, and milking the cows.

Kirk: Do you ever get to eat any of the food that grows there?

Maggie: Yes.

Kirk: Which ones?

Maggie: Apples, carrots, cherries, and milk.

Kirk: Now who’s the other Green Monkey in the shaft?

Maggie: That’s my cousin Curtis.

(Curtis waves at the camera)

Kirk: Let’s hear it for the Green Monkeys!

Zuma: And on the Red Jaguars, we have:

Emily: Emily.

Zuma: How old are you Emily?

Emily: 11.

Zuma: It says here that you play music. Please tell me about that.

Emily: Well I have a keyboard at my house and I’ve been playing for five years.

Zuma: How many songs do you know how to play?

Emily: I know Aura Lee, Home on the Range, and Fur Elise.

Zuma: And who may I ask is your partner?

Emily: That’s Ted.

(Ted waves at the camera)

Zuma: Let us hear it for the Red Jaguars!

Kirk: Why don’t you girls get set for the next temple game and the guys are set for the first one here. In the temple games, teams will be competing to win Pendants of Life. The winning team will need those pendants to protect them from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games, and Olmec will tell us about the first one.

Olmec: According legend, the Piper led the rats out of town with his flute. You however, must do it by hand! You are trapped inside a shaft with rats squirming around the bottom. When Kirk gives the signal, take a rat, and climb up the shaft. Once at the top, toss the rat out, then drop back down and start again. The player that gets all six rats out OR the player furthest along in 60 seconds wins!

Kirk: Alright, let's put 60 seconds on the clock!

(Timer bangs down)

Zuma: On your mark, get set, GO!

Curtis - 4 (Time is up)
Ted - 3

Kirk: Time’s up! Let’s count up the rats.

Zuma: Curtis got four rats while Ted got three.

Kirk: That means the Green Monkeys get a half a Pendant of Life! The Red Jaguars don't have a pendant, but they can catch up in the next game. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: The Piper successfully managed to drown the rats in the Weser River, and now it's your turn. But instead of bringing the rats to the river, you shall bring the river to the rats! Before you is a ramp, and at the top are three buckets containing Weser River water. When Zuma gives the signal, make your way up the ramp, dump one of the buckets on the rats below, then slide back down and start again. The player with all three buckets toppled OR the player furthest along in 60 seconds wins!

Kirk: Alright, players get in position. Let's put 60 seconds on the clock!

(Timer bangs down)

Zuma: On your mark, get set, GO!

Maggie - 3 (0:18 Remaining)
Emily - 1

Kirk: She pulled down all three! That's it!

Zuma: Maggie pulled down all three while Emily only pulled down one.

Kirk: That means that the Green Monkeys get another half Pendant of Life! The Red Jaguars can tie in the next game. It’s worth a full pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: The Pied Piper's flute was specially made with hypnotic powers. Now, you shall make one yourself! Beside you are six pieces of a flute. When Zuma gives the signal, you and your teammate will alternate going up and down the pole, placing a piece of the flute on the top. The team to get all the pieces of their flute together OR the team with the most pieces in place at the end of 60 seconds wins!

Kirk: Alright, players get in position. Let’s put 60 seconds on the clock!

(Timer bangs down)

Zuma: On your mark, get set, GO!

Green Monkeys - 6 (At the last second)
Red Jaguars - 3

Kirk: Right at the last second!

Zuma: The Green Monkeys got all six of theirs while the Red Jaguars got three.

Kirk: That means that the Green Monkeys get a pendant, giving them two, the Red Jaguars don’t have any, so the Green Monkeys are going to the temple!

(Maggie and Curtis high five Kirk and Zuma)

Zuma: Red Jaguars, nice try. Did you have fun?

Emily and Ted: Yes.

Zuma: Of course, neither of you will go home empty-handed. Here are your gifts for playing.

(Armitron Watches prize plug is shown)

Kirk: We’ll see if the Green Monkeys will make it through Olmec’s Temple and retrieve the hypnotic flute!

Zuma: They will do it right after these messages!

(Pendant forms and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” comes out from behind it)

(Pendant splits and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” zooms out)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Maggie and Curtis have proven themselves worthy and have earned the right to enter Olmec’s temple.

Zuma: But first, my father will give them some information to help them retrieve the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper.

Olmec: You could start by running up the stairs to the Room of the Three Gargoyles. Push in the correct tongue, and pass into the Pit of Despair. Here, you must choose your next path. You could race up to the Observatory, spin the sundial, and climb down into the Heart Room. Open up one of the doors and you could enter the Treasure Room. You might open the treasure chest and climb down through it, or open the door to the SHRIIIIIIINE of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Pirate’s Cove. Spin the ship’s wheel and you can descend into the Dungeon. You can plow through the Stone Wall into the Dark Forest. But beware of the Temple Guards that may inhabit the trees. Find the key in the tree, and you’ll enter the Swamp. If you escape, you could gain entry to the Throne Room. Sit on the Throne of the Pretender, then race through the pit, come out the Cave of Sighs and back through the temple gate. The choices are yours and yours alone. You won two pendants in the temple games. Who's going first?

Maggie: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Maggie. When Zuma gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the temple and make your way towards the hypnotic flute. Hidden inside the temple are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on. BUT if you're caught without a pendant, you will be taken out of the temple, and it'll be Curtis's turn to enter and try his luck. If you can reach the hypnotic flute, all of the doors of the temple will instantly unlock and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the hypnotic flute in three minutes and you will both be handsomely rewarded and here's how:

Dee Bradley Baker:

First, you're both going to get…Sharper Image SBT5002 Water and Light Show Bluetooth Streaming 2.1 Speakers with Subwoofer and Dancing Lights! Create a dazzling display of lights and music with the Lightshow Water Bluetooth Speakers from Sharper Image with built-in AC power to plug to any outlet. From the Sharper Image.

If you can grab the flute before three minutes is up, you'll also receive…the NuWave 36001 Brio Digital Air Fryer! Enjoy the taste you love with less fat with the Brio air fryer from NuWave.

And if you get the flute out of the temple before three minutes is up, then you'll both be going to Jamaica! Franklyn D. Resort and Spa: Jamaica's oceanfront family resort! Includes all meals, watersports, children's programs and tours to Dunn's River Falls.

Kirk: They wanna go to Jamaica, but will they? Let’s see.

Zuma: Father, will you lower gate, please?

(Olmec moans gutturally while the gate lowers)

Kirk: Get in position. Mouthpieces in. Put three minutes on the clock!

(Timer bangs down)

Zuma: On your mark, get set, GO!

(Temple run music cues and HUD moves in on screen)

Maggie heads up into the Room of the Three Gargoyles, tries all three, the third of which opens the Pit of Despair (2:42). She jumps down, tries to open the Throne Room which is locked from the pit (2:33), then climbs up to the Heart Room which opens (2:28). She runs across the room, hits the Treasure Room actuator and out comes a Temple Guard (2:22)! She gives up her pendant, enters the room, and out comes another Temple Guard (2:16)! Curtis follows Maggie’s path to the Treasure Room and opens the chest to no avail (1:50). He had trouble figuring out which way to go until Kirk told him to hit the actuator to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey which he did (1:34). Once the silver monkey was fully assembled (1:16), he sees the open door to the Dark Forest and climbs down. He tries the camera-left tree which has no key, and then the camera-right which does (1:03). He opens the Swamp, makes it across and opens the Throne Room. He picks the flute up off the throne (0:44), makes his way across the Pit of Despair, through the Cave of Sighs (rooted on by the last Temple Guard) and out with 0:26 remaining! Maggie was so excited that she couldn’t help but hug Curtis. After all, she said he’s her cousin. Even Kirk and Zuma celebrated the first episode and victory of this reboot!
