Legends: Unearthed - The Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn
« on: July 24, 2013, 09:03:56 PM »
The camera moves past several tree branches and plants, unable to find a way out of the jungle with each turn. At last, it stops in front of an ancient Mayan temple with a stone head by its base. As it draws closer, the head's eyes glow red as it begins to speak:

Legends of the Hidden Temple!” A panoramic view of the Temple is shown as the words appear on the screen. “With your guide, Kirk Fogg!” The camera shifts to the Chamber of Dry Waters, where we see Kirk sliding down the Pharaoh's Secret Passage. As he runs out of the Temple and towards the Steps of Knowledge, the stone head speaks again: “And here he is now!”

“Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his Temple...which one are we gonna hear about today?”

“The Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn,” the stone head says in response.

“Ah, the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn! Well, one of these teams will have a chance to retrieve the Jolly Roger. Will it be...the Red Jaguars?” The camera passes by each team as they're announced. “The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes?”

“They're gonna have to pass some tough physical and mental tests, and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But first, they must cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll do it today.”

Olmec starts to explain the Moat Crossing: “Before you are small stones and a rope in the middle. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will walk across using the stones, bring the rope back to your side, and then swing across. When you reach the other side, throw the rope to your partner, who will then swing across. Players, remember! If you fall or use the stones to help you get across while swinging, you must start again. As soon as the second partner has crossed, run over and hit the gong.” Kirk hits the Silver Snakes' gong to demonstrate. “The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!”

“Alright, here we go! Teams, are you ready?” The kids cheer once more as the first players get ready. “Olmec, are you ready?”

“Ay,” Olmec says with a pirate accent.

“On your mark, get set, go!

All of the first players succeed in getting the rope and returning it to the dock. Upon swinging, however, the Blue Barracudas' boy and the Silver Snakes' girl fall into the water mid-swing, while everyone else makes it across. “Oh, this looks like it'll be a close race to the finish!” Kirk yells as the Orange Iguanas' girl throws the rope back to her partner at the same time the Silver Snakes' girl returns to the dock. Meanwhile, the Green Monkeys' boy has difficulty in grabbing the rope from his partner. By the time he grabs it, the other teams have players swinging across, with the Orange Iguanas' boy in the lead after the Purple Parrots' boy has a hard time getting a foothold on the dock.

“I think we have our first team!” Kirk yells as the Orange Iguanas ring in. “Orange Iguanas are in!” Seconds later, the Purple Parrots and the Red Jaguars ring in. “We need one more team! Who's it gonna be?” By this point, the Green Monkeys' boy tries to swing, but drags into the water partway through. The Silver Snakes' girl and the Blue Barracudas' girl swing at the same time, with both of them reaching the dock. Before the Silver Snakes can get their last member across, the Blue Barracudas hit their gong.

“That's it! We've got our teams!” Kirk says as he runs towards the Purple Parrots. “It was a close race, but going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Purple Parrots!” He pauses to give each team a moment of applause. “Along with the Orange Iguanas...and the Blue Barracudas...and the Red Jaguars! The Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes just barely missed it, but they're not going away empty-handed. We've got a great gift for them, and here's what it is.” They receive a $50 gift card from Blockbuster.

We return to see Kirk and the remaining four teams walking towards the Steps of Knowledge. “As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn. But teams, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec's Temple...”

Olmec begins his tale: “One of the most dreaded pirates to ever sail the seven seas was Emanuel Wynn. During the late 17th century, he would pillage English merchants off the coast of the Province of Carolina. One day, near the Cape Verde islands, he engaged the HMS Poole, where his opponent, Captain John Cranby, saw a peculiar sight.”
“That flag,” he muttered, “I've never seen anything like it! A skull, crossbones, and...an hourglass? What kind of idiot has a flag like that?!”
“Ay, that be your warning, boy!” Emanuel warned. “If you give up, I'll spare ya from an untimely end!”
“The two fought until Cranby trapped Emanuel in a cove on Brava. Just as he was about to capture him, he was attacked by Portuguese soldiers, allowing Emanuel to escape.”
“Farewell, ya old crone!” he yelled before he disappeared. Emanuel soon moved to the Caribbean, finding the waters there to be more profitable. All that remains of his legacy is his flag. Your quest is to find the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn and bring it back here.”

“Thanks a lot, Olmec,” says Kirk. “So tell us, where is the Jolly Roger?”

“The Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn can be found...in the Lair of the Butterfly.” The camera zooms in on the flag, which is hanging on the ladder leading to the Heart Room.

“Teams, you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge,” Kirk begins as he paces behind them. “In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you'll move on to the next level. If you're wrong or run out of time, I'm going to give the other teams a chance to answer.” He starts to walk down the steps. “The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Olmec, we're ready for your first question.”

Olmec starts:
“During which century did Emanuel Wynn attack English merchants: the 16th century, the 17th century, or – ”
The Orange Iguanas cut him off. “17th century!” the girl yells.
“That is correct.” The Orange Iguanas descend a level.
“Alright, good start. Next question.”

“Which of these ships engaged Emanuel Wynn: the HMS Resistance, the HMS Resolution, or the HMS Poole?”
The Orange Iguanas ring in again. “HMS Poole!” says the girl.
“That is correct.” The Orange Iguanas step down.
“Just like that, the Orange Iguanas are just one step away! Remember, we're looking for two teams. Next question, Olmec.”

“Who was the captain of the HMS Poole: Captain John Williams, Captain John Cranby, or Captain John Smith?”
The Blue Barracudas ring in. “Captain John Cranby,” the girl says.
“That is correct.” The Blue Barracudas go down a level.
“Blue Barracudas are on the board! Next question.”

“On which island did Cranby trap Emanuel: Brava, Fogo, or Sal?”
The Red Jaguars ring in. “Brava!” the boy shouts.
“That is correct.” The Red Jaguars step down.
“Oh, this is starting to heat up! Next question.”

“Why did Emanuel move to the Caribbean? Because he: grew tired of the Atlantic, found it more profitable – ”
The Red Jaguars ring in. “It was more profitable!” the boy shouts.
“That is correct.” The Red Jaguars go down a level.
“We've got a tie on the second to last step! Next question.”

“Which states did the Province of Carolina eventually become: North and South Carolina – ”
The Red Jaguars ring in early. “North and South Carolina!” the boy shouts.
“That is correct.” The Red Jaguars move to the final level.
“We've got our first team going to the Temple Games! It's the Red Jaguars!” They start high-fiving each other while the other teams look on. “We need one more team, who's it gonna be? The Purple Parrots, the Orange Iguanas, or the Blue Barracudas? Next question.”

“Which of these is not part of the traditional Jolly Roger: a skull, crossbones, or an hourglass?”
The Purple Parrots ring in. “The, um...the hourglass!” the girl yells, with the boy nodding.
“That is correct.” The Purple Parrots descend a level.
“Purple Parrots are on the board! Next question.”

“Which of these men was also a famous pirate: Calico Jack – ”
The Blue Barracudas cut him off. “Calico Jack,” the girl calmly repeats.
“That is correct.” The Blue Barracudas descend a level.
“Another tie on the second to last step! It might come down to the wire! Next question, Olmec.”

“Which of these years did the Golden Age of Piracy end: 1692, 1725, or 1776?”
The Orange Iguanas ring in. “1725!” the girl yells after a brief pause.
“That is correct.” The Orange Iguanas leap down to the last step.

“We've got our teams right here!” Kirk yells as he joins them. “It's the Red Jaguars and the Orange Iguanas!” He looks over at the Purple Parrots and gestures them to come forward while the Blue Barracudas stay where they're at. “The Blue Barracudas and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort all the way through, they're not going away empty-handed. Here's what we've got for them.” They receive Snow Dogs on VHS.

“These two teams will be playing to earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple, and they'll do it right after this!” As the teams celebrate among themselves, the camera shifts over to the Red Jaguars' gong, and remains on it as the title appears onscreen, until we fade to commercial.

When we return from commercial, we see a glimpse of the Temple Gates along with the title before the camera cuts to Kirk standing between the remaining teams.

“Welcome back to Legends,” he says. “Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, but before we get started, let's meet our two teams. On the Red Jaguars, we have Carey, and how old are you?”
“Eleven,” she replies.
“And I heard you're a part of the track team at your middle school.”
“Yeah, I do the...straight dash.”
“Ever tried the field events?”
“Yeah, but I liked running more,” she says with a laugh.
“And your partner, Conner. How old are you?”
“Twelve,” he says.
“And you like to go sailing. Why's that?”
“It's kind of fun to just...relax on the boat. Ocean breeze and all that.”
“How long have you been doing this?”
“Since I was seven.”
“We've got a swashbuckler here! Let's hear it for the Red Jaguars!” Kirk yells as the audience cheers for the short, brown-eyed girl with dark brown hair and the tall boy with auburn hair and dark brown eyes.

Kirk turns to look at the Orange Iguanas. “Over here, we have the Orange Iguanas with Lacey, how old are you?”
“Twelve,” she says.
“And you like to solve puzzles, tell me about that.”
“Well, I think puzzles are fun to solve. They make you think about how to get it done.”
“Any favorites?”
“Rubik's cubes.”
“It's always the Rubik's cube,” Kirk jokes before moving on. “And your partner, Silas. How old are you?”
“Thirteen,” he replies.
“And I hear you play the piano. How'd you get into that?”
“My grandma actually gave it to me for my birthday a few years ago. I liked it, so dad hired a guy to help me practice.”
“Do you have a favorite kind of music?”
“Jazz,” he says with a smile.
“Alright, let's hear it for the Orange Iguanas!” The audience cheers for the short blond girl with green eyes and the short boy with black hair and brown eyes.

“Why don't you guys get ready for the Temple Games, and I'll tell everyone what's going to happen here.” When the kids leave, Kirk reaches into his pouch. “In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win...well, these Pendants of Life,” he finishes, holding the Pendant. “The winning team will need those Pendants to protect them from those dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple. There are three Temple Games, and Olmec will tell us about Temple Game #1.”

Olmec begins to explain the first game: “When Portuguese soldiers attacked Cranby, Emanuel used the opportunity to escape. Now, you must escape like he did. When Kirk gives the signal, climb along the wall and maneuver the chain along the slot until you reach the cove's exit and can pass through. The first player to escape the cove, or the player that's further along at the end of 60 seconds, wins.”

“Who will escape the cove first?” Kirk asks as he runs off screen. “Let's set the clock for 60 seconds. On your mark, get set, go!

Conner starts off strongly, maneuvering along the path while pulling the chain along. Silas, however, has a more difficult time catching up. When the clock reaches the halfway point, Conner has just gotten past the third bar, while Silas has gotten past the second and is nearing the third. Silas tries to speed up, but his attempts come up short due to the chain. Conner continues to move steadily along, and with five seconds left on the clock, he escapes the cove.

“Alright, that's it!” Kirk says as he runs back on screen. “Great job, you guys. Conner made it out of the cove first, so that gives the Red Jaguars the half Pendant of Life!” Conner claps along with the audience. “Orange Iguanas can catch up in this next game. It's worth a half Pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.”

Olmec continues: “Emanuel Wynn would attack and pillage English merchants by the Province of Carolina, and would do the same to English and Spanish ships on the Caribbean. In this game, you're about to take some goods from a ship. When Kirk gives the signal, grab a handle above you and swoop down to the enemy ship. There, you'll grab a valuable piece of gold, grab another handle, swing back, and place it in your bin. The player with the most valuables at the end of 60 seconds wins.”

“Well, someone's gonna home without gold,” Kirk jokes before running off screen. “Set the clock for 60 seconds! On your mark, get set, go!

Carey and Lacey start off evenly, but Carey ends up letting go before reaching the other side, forcing her to start over. Lacey, meanwhile, makes it to the other side and grabs a piece of gold, allowing her to place it in her bin with 45 seconds remaining. Carey makes it to her end and grabs a piece of gold, but when she swings across, she lets go of the handle again, while Lacey returns to the other side. By the time the 30 second mark arrives, Lacey has two pieces of gold while Carey has yet to score. Finally, Carey gets back to her end and scores after Lacey returns with a third piece. With 10 seconds left, both girls swing out again and land on the opposite side. Before they can come back and score, however, time expires.

“That's it, let's count it up!” Kirk yells as he runs back while the spotters put the Orange Iguanas' bin by the Red Jaguars' bin. “Let's see, the Red Jaguars had one piece of gold, and the Orange Iguanas had one...two...three pieces of gold! The Orange Iguanas get the Half Pendant of Life!” Lacey and Carey clap with the audience. “So it's a tie, they both have a half Pendant, but now we go into the third and final game, it's worth a full Pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.”

Olmec explains the final game: “When Emanuel Wynn attacked ships, most of them wouldn't go down without a fight! Your task is to take down some of these ships just like Emanuel did. One player from each team is suspended in a sack, and when Kirk gives the signal, the other player will swing them at the enemy ships. The first team to knock all three ships over, or the team that's further along at the end of 60 seconds, wins.”

“This game is for the Temple!” Kirk yells as he runs off screen. “Let's put 60 seconds on the clock! On your mark, get set, go!

Carey and Silas immediately grab their partners and swing at the same time, with Lacey able to score while Conner makes the ship wobble. With 50 seconds left, they swing again, and both teams score. This is followed by both teams making their targets wobble during the third swing. On the fourth swing, Silas swings Lacey over, knocking the third ship down with 39 seconds left.

“Aaand...that's it!” Kirk says as the last ship falls over. “The Orange Iguanas got all of their ships down before time was up, so they get the full Pendant of Life!” Lacey and Silas high-five each other. “The Orange Iguanas have a Pendant and a half, the Red Jaguars have a half Pendant! The Orange Iguanas are going to the Temple!” Silas audibly screams “YES!” and hugs the sack Lacey is in. Lacey pats his helmet in response while Kirk walks over to the Red Jaguars. “The Red Jaguars were a great team, and I wish they didn't have to leave. They're not going away empty-handed. We've got a great gift for them, and here's what it is.” They receive a pair of British Knights.

When the prize disappears, we see Kirk standing between Silas and Lacey. “We'll see if the Orange Iguanas can make it through Olmec's Temple and retrieve the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn right after this!”

As he high-fives the two players, the camera cuts to the Lair of the Butterfly, giving us a brief glimpse of the glowing statue before it focuses on the Jolly Roger. The title appears soon afterward, and we go to a commercial.

When we return from commercial, the camera shows a tree in the Dark Forest before cutting to Kirk and the Orange Iguanas, who are now standing in front of the Temple.

“Welcome back to Legends,” he says. “Silas and Lacey have proven themselves worthy and have earned the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But first, Olmec's going to give them some information to help them retrieve the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn.”

Olmec begins his rundown, complete with a first-person walkthrough of the Temple: “You could start...by running up the stairs into the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Overgrown Pit. Use the outcroppings to maneuver across, and climb into the Eclipsed Light Room. Focus the light on the black orb, and a door may open into the Heart Room. Turn the levers to awaken the sleeping heart, and pass into the Room...of the Ancient Warriors! Place yourself into the correct armor, and open the door to the SHRIIIINE of the Decayed Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed toward the Lightning Room. Connect the power cords to create your own lightning, and open the door to the Pharaoh's Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Chamber of Dry Waters, where you could pull the chains to unleash the waterfall, or smash through to the Dark Forest. But beware of the Temple Guards that may inhabit the trees! Find the key in the tree, and you'll enter the Murky Swamp. Traverse through the muck, and you'll gain entry to...the Lair of the Butterfly. Rip the wings off of the butterflies, then...pass through the pit, climb through the Moss Cavern, race down the stairs and back to the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours alone...” He briefly pauses. “You've won one and a half Pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first?”

“I am!” Lacey yells.

“Very well, Lacey. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the Gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn. Hidden inside the Temple are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but! If you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple, and it will be Silas' turn to enter and try his luck. Hidden somewhere in the Temple is the other half of your Pendant, Silas. If you find it, you'll get an extra life. If you can reach the Jolly Roger, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the Gates with the Jolly Roger in three minutes, and you'll both be handsomely rewarded – and here's how!”

  • For just getting into the Temple, they'll both receive a Sony ICF-36 portable radio.
  • If they can grab the Jolly Roger within three minutes, they'll also receive Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia.
  • If they bring the Jolly Roger out of the Temple before three minutes is up, they'll both be going to Busch Gardens.

“Alright, these guys are getting excited, so let's get into position, mouthpieces in. Let's...have Olmec lower the gate, please.” Olmec lets out a low groan as the gate descends. “Set the clock for three minutes! On your mark, get set, go!

Lacey rushes into the Temple, carrying the team's only full Pendant. She heads up into the Crypt, but before she can pull any of the books, she encounters the first Temple Guard! “Temple Guard right off the bat!” Kirk yells as Lacey hands over her Pendant. “Next time she gets caught, it'll be Silas' turn to go in!”  Slowly, she pulls on the books, noticeably shaken by her encounter, until the third one opens the door with 2:44 remaining. In the Overgrown Pit, after she walks along the outcroppings, she kicks the actuator leading to the Eclipsed Light Room and immediately points at the button while looking back at Silas. With 2:36 remaining, she heads into the Eclipsed Light Room. She looks up at the light, then at the middle panel. She moves it around, and after a few seconds, gets the light to bounce into the black orb. 2:21 remains as she heads into the Room of the Ancient Warriors. She puts herself into the first armor, and pulls on the handles. At 2:15, the door to the Shrine opens, but at the same time, she's grabbed from behind by the second Temple Guard!

“Another Temple Guard! Go, Silas!” Silas runs into the Temple, going through the Crypt and the Overgrown Pit with 2:05 left as he nears the door to the Eclipsed Light Room. Before entering, he grabs the half Pendant from the actuator. “He's got the other half of his Pendant! No more worrying about a third Temple Guard now!” He runs through the Eclipsed Light Room, but stops in the Room of the Ancient Warriors. Silas puts himself in the middle armor and pulls down the handles, but soon realizes his mistake and runs into the next room with 1:49 remaining.

In the Shrine of the Decayed Monkey, he takes a bit to find the base, but is quick to return to the central pedestal with it. After placing it down, he grabs the torso, followed by the head. He briefly screws up with the torso before he places it on correctly. Due to his size, it takes a bit longer for him to jam the head down. As the clock reaches the 1:22 mark, the doors in the room open, and Silas is about to head into the Lightning Room when he sees that the door to the Chamber of Dry Waters is open. He heads down, but as he prepares to dismount the ladder, the third Temple Guard emerges from the back door!

“Temple Guard! Good thing he has a full Pendant!” Silas hands over the Pendant, then gets off the ladder, now with 1:09 remaining. Three seconds later, he busts through the wall. In the Dark Forest, Silas quickly goes for the stage-left tree, but finds nothing after standing on his tip toes to get his arm deep inside. “He's just two rooms away, but can he get out of the Dark Forest?” He goes for the stage-right tree and tries the same method, and this time, pulls out a key. He tries a hole in front of the stage-right tree first, but quickly runs behind the tree and puts it in the hole there, opening the door to the Murky Swamp with 48 seconds remaining. He enters the room three seconds later.

“He's just one room away!” Kirk yells while Lacey chants for Silas to hurry up. Silas goes into the room, nearly losing his balance about halfway through the room due to the Murky Swamp's soft surface. He makes it to the actuator with 40 seconds left, then uses the vines to get himself past the entrance. When he gets into the Lair of the Butterfly, he yanks the Jolly Roger of Emanuel Wynn off the ladder with 34 seconds left!

“He's got the Jolly Roger! All the doors are open!” As Lacey yells for him to hurry, Silas runs out of the room and into the Overgrown Pit. With 27 seconds left, he crawls out and gets back on his feet, but a vine makes him fall close to the entrance to the Moss Cavern. From there, he crawls in with 17 seconds left as he makes it inside. “He's almost out! Hurry!” By this point, Lacey is screaming as Silas crawls through the Moss Cavern. With the clock winding down, he gets out of the Moss Cavern and runs through the Temple Gate with 4 seconds remaining.

“Unbelievable! He did it!" Lacey immediately hugs Silas, and both of them start screaming out of excitement. "They got everything! They got the radio, they got the interactive encyclopedia! They're going to Busch Gardens!” Silas and Lacey hug each other one more time, then they hold the Jolly Roger up high. “We've gotta go, but join us for another adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!”

Kirk high-fives the two, and all three take turns holding the Jolly Roger as the credits roll.

Layout Used: Season 1, Layout 1
Artifact Location: The Lair of the Butterfly
No. of Rooms Entered to Reach Artifact: 8
Team: Orange Iguanas (Silas and Lacey)
Number of Pendants: 2
Guard Locations: The Crypt, The Room of the Ancient Warriors, The Chamber of Dry Waters
Result: Escaped in Time! (0:04 remaining!)

Wow. This is only the second episode, and yet they decided to drop this on us so soon? Prior to this, no one had successfully gotten an artifact out of the Temple when it was located at the bottom of the central shaft. Sure, people have come close, but no one escaped. Yet this team came and changed that. They showed that such a feat was possible. And I'm getting melodramatic again.

Lacey made good work in the Temple, as it didn't take her too long to figure out the Eclipsed Light Room's objective (this makes her the first contestant to do so) and didn't try any direct paths, but was removed at 2:15 in the Room of the Ancient Warriors. Silas, though, was a different story. He was about as fast, if not faster, but he made quite a few mistakes. Tried the second armor when the door was already open, nearly going into the Lightning Room, putting the key in the hole in front of the stage-right tree...he was lucky, and I mean lucky, that he was as fast as he was, or this would've ended up like the rest.

Good episode, even if Silas made one too many mistakes that nearly cost the team.

Notes:
 - This is the first time someone has retrieved an artifact from the bottom of the central shaft.
 - This is also the first time Olmec refers to a contestant by name when telling them about the other half Pendant in the Temple.
 - When Silas completes the objective in the Shrine of the Decayed Monkey, the door to the Dark Forest opened. He could have taken a shorter path!
 - Kirk almost screws up before the Temple Run; he's about to say the usual "set the clock" line before telling Olmec to lower the gate.
 - For a twelve year old, Conner was a pretty tall kid. Does it run in his family or something?

Pretty good read. The Pirate themed episodes were always fun on legends. Especially their stories. :P I have read a lot of Pirate stories so I  know what a Jolly Roger is. :P I am surprised though that Legends never used that as an artifact. :o I know that is was brought up in one of the temple games. Maybe Bifocal Monocle? Okay, we won't mention that episode again.

Nice to see a bottom of the central shaft win too. If I ever made one of these fanfics, this would be the very first thing I want to see done. Your temple layout reminds me exactly of "Queen Boadicea".  :mrred: Except the Red Jaguars never entered the Quicksand Bog and met their last temple guard in the Shrine. I am surprised the Orange Iguanas pulled off a victory with that tough of a layout. Especially after the mistakes Silas made. This was a good read, and I will read more of it later. ;)

Yeah, can't go wrong with a bottom central shaft win. Especially so early on in the season. Great stuff there. :mrorange:

Even though Silas' speed seems a bit...unbelievable in places (eight seconds to cross the Swamp? ), I'm willing to let it slide because of the solid performance in the Temple.  Slightly surprised you have two wins in a row for the first two episodes, but hey, I'm not complaining.

Great work!

Thanks for the responses, everyone! This was a monster to edit/revise, trust me. I think this was even worse than the Copernicus episode in that regard. Imagine if I kept the original schedule and posted once a week, that would be a nightmare. :S

I also apologize if the writing's a bit cluttered at parts; I'm not really used to writing in the present tense for stories. I can only improve from here, though. Well, I hope I do.
Favorite Episode(s): The Much-Heralded Helmet of Sir Gawain, the Milk Bucket of Freydis, the Discarded Seal of Ivan the Terrible
Favorite Team: Purple Parrots
Favorite Room(s): The Dark Forest, followed by the Lightning Room and the Shrine of the Silver Monkey

What if Legends was brought back in 2002? You get Legends of the Hidden Temple: Unearthed (updates every one to two weeks, on Wednesdays)
