Legends: Unearthed - The Model Manuscript of Copernicus
« on: July 11, 2013, 01:10:12 AM »
The camera moves past several tree branches and plants, unable to find a way out of the jungle with each turn. At last, it stops in front of an ancient Mayan temple with a stone head by its base. As it draws closer, the head's eyes glow red as it begins to speak:

Legends of the Hidden Temple!” A panoramic view of the Temple is shown as the words appear on the screen. “With your guide, Kirk Fogg!” As the head speaks, a figure is shown to be in the unlit Heart Room, turning the levers. When the light returns, the figure is revealed to be Kirk as he exits the room via a rope tied to the support below the levers. He lands safely on the ground and runs towards the Steps of Knowledge. “And here he is now!”

“Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his Temple...which one are we going to hear about today?”

“The legend of the Model Manuscript of Copernicus,” the stone head says in response.

“Oh, the Model Manuscript of Copernicus! Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Manuscript. Will it be...the Red Jaguars?” The camera passes by each team as they're announced. “The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes?”

“They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec's Temple, but first they have to cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll have to do that today.”

Olmec starts to explain the Moat Crossing. “Before you are small stones and a rope in the middle. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will walk across using the stones, bring the rope back to your side, and then swing across. When you reach the other side, throw the rope to your partner, who will then swing across. Players, remember! If you fall or use the stones to help you get across while swinging, you must start again. As soon as the second partner has crossed, run over and hit the gong.” Kirk hits the Silver Snakes' gong to demonstrate. “The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!”

“Alright, let's get started! Teams, are you ready?!” The kids cheer one last time as the first players get ready. “Olmec, are you ready?”

“Let's rock.”

“Alright! On your mark, get set, go!

Most of the first players get to the rope with no problem, though the Green Monkeys' boy and the Silver Snakes' boy fall into the water before reaching it. Meanwhile, the Orange Iguanas' girl is the first to return to the deck, while the Purple Parrots' boy and the Red Jaguars' girl are closely behind. The Silver Snakes' boy manages to get the rope on the second try as the Orange Iguanas' girl swings across. Three of the teams – the Red Jaguars, the Blue Barracudas, and the Purple Parrots – swing at the same time, but only the Red and Purple teams make it; the Blue Barracudas' boy lands in the water before he makes it to the dock.

“Blue Barracudas have to go back!” Kirk narrates as the Orange Iguanas' girl succeeds in getting her rope back to her partner, as does the Purple Parrots' boy, but the Red Jaguars' girl has difficulty in throwing it back, only succeeding after the second attempt. The Silver Snakes finally catch up as their first player makes it across, but the Orange Iguanas' boy swings over almost immediately after, followed closely by the Purple Parrots' girl and the Green Monkeys' boy. The Orange Iguanas' boy makes it to the other side, and after some help from his partner, runs to hit the gong.

“We've got one – two teams across!” Kirk corrects himself as the Purple Parrots ring in about two seconds later. “We're looking for two more teams! Will the Red Jaguars be team number three?” he observes as the Red Jaguars' boy swings across. The Silver Snakes' girl and the Green Monkeys' girl swing at the same time, while the Red Jaguars' boy makes it to the other side and runs with his partner to ring in. “We need one more! The Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes are neck and neck!” Both land at the same time, making this a footrace to the finish. The Silver Snakes' girl dives for the gong and hits it just before the Green Monkeys do.

“That's it! We've got our four teams!” Kirk shouts as he walks over to the Silver Snakes, while the girl manages to get back up. “You just dived for the gong and hit it at the last second! Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes!” He pauses to give each team a moment of applause. “Along with the Purple Parrots...and the Orange Iguanas...and the Red Jaguars! The Green Monkeys and the Blue Barracudas did a great job, they're not going away empty handed. We've got a great gift for them, and here's what it is.” They receive a Super Soaker Monster.

We return to see Kirk and the remaining four teams walking towards the Steps of Knowledge. “As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Model Manuscript of Copernicus. But teams, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec's Temple...”

Olmec begins his tale: “One of the most famous astronomers of the Renaissance was Nicolaus Copernicus. In 1532, he began to work on his book about the heliocentric theory, but he didn't want to publish it.”
“Copernicus, this is great!” one of his friends would say. “You could make a lot of money if you published this!”
“But no one would understand it,” he confessed. “They would laugh at me for thinking of such things.”
“Ridiculous! People would think this is good stuff!”
“Despite his friends' praises, Copernicus still refused to publish it. Several years later, in 1539, he received a visitor.”
“Who are you? I wasn't expecting anyone.”
“I'm Rheticus,” the visitor said. “I was asked to visit and study with astronomers.”
“Really?” Copernicus asked. “Who sent you?”
“A friend of Martin Luther's. Maybe you know him?”
“Rheticus became Copernicus' pupil and was able to read a manuscript of his mentor's work. He was so impressed with his work that he finally convinced Copernicus to publish it. Legend has it, on the day he died, Copernicus was shown an advance copy of his book. After his death, Rheticus was given the manuscript, which later found its way to the Temple. Your quest is to retrieve the Model Manuscript of Copernicus and bring it back here.”

“Thank you, Olmec,” says Kirk. “So tell us, where is the manuscript?”

“The Model Manuscript of Copernicus can be found...in the Eclipsed Light Room.” The camera zooms in on the manuscript, which is leaning against the black orb in the room.

“Teams, you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge,” Kirk begins as he paces behind them. “In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you'll move on to the next level. But if you're wrong or run out of time, I'm going to give the other teams a chance to answer.” He starts to walk down the steps. “The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. We're ready for your first question, Olmec.”

Olmec starts:
“Which of these periods was Copernicus a part of: the Dark Ages, the Renaissance, or–”
The Purple Parrots ring in early. “The Renaissance?”
“That is correct.” The Purple Parrots move down one level.
“Purple Parrots score first,” Kirk narrates. “Next question.”

“Who tried to get him to publish his work: his friends, his family, or his wife?”
The Orange Iguanas ring in. “His friends!” the girl yells confidently.
“That is correct.” The Orange Iguanas descend a level.
“The Orange Iguanas have taken their first step! Plenty of time for the other teams to catch up, though. Next question, Olmec.”

“Who visited Copernicus in 1539: Romulus, Rheticus, or Regis?”
The Silver Snakes ring in. “Rheticus!”
“That is correct.” The Silver Snakes move down one level.
“Silver Snakes are on the board! Next question, Olmec.”

“According to Rheticus, he was sent by: a courier looking for his house, a friend of Martin Luther's, or–”
The Silver Snakes cut him off. “A friend of Martin Luther's.”
“That is correct.” The Silver Snakes descend to the second to last step.
“Silver Snakes are one step away from the Temple Games! This match is heating up. Next question.”

“Which of these was Martin Luther during Copernicus' time: a priest, an outlaw, or a speaker?”
The Red Jaguars ring in. “A priest?”
“Incorrect.”
The Silver Snakes ring in. “A...an outlaw?” the boy says after hesitating.
“That is correct!” The Silver Snakes move to the final step.
“We've got our first team going to the Temple Games!” Kirk says as the Silver Snakes high-five each other. “But we still need one more team. Who's it gonna be, the Red Jaguars, the Orange Iguanas, or the Purple Parrots? Next question.”

“According to legend, on the day he died, was Copernicus shown: his manuscript, a letter from Rheticus, or a copy of his book?”
The Purple Parrots ring in. “A copy of his book?”
“That is correct.” The Purple Parrots descend another level.
“The Purple Parrots are one step away! Next question.”

“According to Copernicus' theory, what was at the center of the universe: the Earth, the Sun, or the moon?”
The Orange Iguanas ring in. “The Sun!”
“Correct.” The Orange Iguanas meet the Purple Parrots on the second to last step.
“We've got a tie on the last step! Red Jaguars can still catch up. Next question, Olmec.”

“In which of these towns did Copernicus live out the rest of his life: Warmia–”
The Red Jaguars ring in early. “Italy!”
“That is not one of our three choices. The three choices are: Warmia, Torun, or Elblag?”
The Orange Iguanas ring in, but they take a few seconds to answer. “Warmia?” the girl answers with hesitation.
“That is correct!” The Orange Iguanas leap down to the bottom level.

“We've got our two teams!” Kirk yells as he joins them. “It's the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes! Red Jaguars and Purple Parrots gave it a great effort, they're not going away empty handed. Here's what we've got for them.” They receive a $50 gift certificate from Skechers.

“These two teams will earn – be playing to earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple, and they'll do it right after this!” As Kirk high-fives the players, the camera shifts to the Moat, where it nears a small waterfall on the side of it as the title comes on the screen, before fading to commercial.

When we return from commercial, we see the Murky Swamp along with the title before it cuts to Kirk standing beside the remaining teams.

“Welcome back to Legends,” he says. “Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, I'd like to find out more about our two teams. On the Orange Iguanas, we have Debbie. How old are you?”
“Fourteen,” she replies.
“And it says here you're interested in fortune telling. Why's that?”
“Well, it kind of started with those things you make out of paper,” she says, making a motion with her hands. “It was kind of fun when kids would keep asking for their fortune, so...yeah.”
“And your partner, Zack. How old are you?”
“Thirteen,” he replies.
“And your favorite activity is rock-climbing. How'd you get into that?”
“It happened a while back, when the rec center got a new rock wall, and I tried it out. It was pretty cool.”
“Maybe your skills can help you here. Let's hear it for the Orange Iguanas!” Kirk yells as the audience cheers for the tall, blond-haired girl with hazel eyes and the short, brown-eyed boy with dark brown hair.

Kirk turns to look at the Silver Snakes. “Over on the Silver Snakes, we have Lorelle, and how old are you?”
“Eleven,” she says.
“And I heard you want to be a geologist when you grow up. Tell me about that.”
“Well, I went to the Grand Canyon once, and I thought it looked really neat. When we got home, I went to the library and started reading books about rocks.”
“And Brad, how old are you?”
“Eleven,” he says.
“And you love to travel. How many places have you been to?”
“Actually, we used to live in Vermont, but we kept moving to different states like Virginia, Georgia, and Alabama. We just moved to Florida about two months ago.”
“You're going to be moving a lot in the Temple Games. Let's hear it for the Silver Snakes!” The audience applauds for the blond, hazel-eyed girl, and the tall boy with brown hair and blue eyes.

“Why don't you guys get ready for the Temple Games, and I'll tell everyone what's going to happen here.” As the kids leave, Kirk reaches into his pouch. “In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life,” he says as he retrieves the Pendant from the pouch. “The winning team will need those pendants to protect them from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple. There are three Temple Games! Olmec, please tell us about the first one...”

Olmec begins to speak: “Copernicus determined that all planets revolved around the Sun. In this game, you must make the planet rotate. When Kirk gives the signal, climb up onto the wheel and adjust your weight to make the wheel spin. Each time you rotate the marker on the wheel one full time, it will represent one revolution the planet has made. If you fall off, we'll stop the wheel, and you'll get back on and start spinning again. The player who makes the most revolutions at the end of sixty seconds wins.”

“Making a planet move, huh?” Kirk observes. “That doesn't sound easy. Let's set the clock for sixty seconds! On your mark, get set, go!

Zack and Brad scatter onto the wheels and begin turning, with Brad taking a slight lead once Zack falls off with fifty seconds remaining. Brad maintains the lead until he falls off, allowing Zack to catch up and take the lead. When twenty seconds remain on the clock, Zack falls off again. Brad catches up, and neither boy falls off the wheel until time expires.

“That's it, time's up!” Kirk yells as he runs back on screen. “Oh, the – the Orange Iguanas fell off, and it gave the Silver Snakes a chance to catch up. Let's check the score. Orange Iguanas moved the planet ten times, the Silver Snakes moved it...ten times! It's a tie! They each get a half Pendant of Life!” The audience applauds as Brad and Zack shake hands. “This next game is worth a half Pendant, so either team can pull out ahead. Olmec, tell us about it.”

Olmec continues: “Very few of Copernicus' notes have survived to this day. Fortunately, we have some of his notes, but they're in pieces. Before you are two boards, each with three pieces of one of his notes. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll run toward the first board, grab a piece of the note, then run back to the other side and place it on the board there. Then, go back and do it again. The first player to correctly assemble Copernicus' note, or the player who's further along at the end of sixty seconds, wins.”

“Okay, let's get the players in position...let me get out of the way,” Kirk says as he runs off screen. “Set the clock for sixty seconds! On your mark, get set, go!

Lorelle has a difficult time getting the rhythm, while Debbie is able to get to the first board with no issue. About halfway through the game, she gets the third part of the note on, while Lorelle manages to get her second piece on at about the same time. However, Debbie starts losing momentum when she switches boards, giving Lorelle time to catch up. As the clock runs down, Debbie grabs the fourth piece, but isn't able to get it on her board in time.

“Time's up!” Kirk shouts as he runs up to them. “It was tough getting the rhythm, but both teams had the same amount of pieces on their boards when time ran out, so they both get the half Pendant of Life!” The audience applauds while Debbie claps; Lorelle looks at her briefly before clapping. “It's all tied up, each team has a Pendant apiece! We go into the third and final game, it's worth a full Pendant. Olmec, tell us about Temple Game number three.”

Olmec speaks about the final game: “Copernicus spent most of his life in Warmia, but he would make journeys to other Prussian cities. In this game, you and your partner will make such a journey. On the wall before you are four cities Copernicus visited: Torun, Malbork, Elblag, and Sztum. When Kirk gives the signal, one player will load a marker into their slingshot and shoot it to their partner, who will catch it and place it on the first city. Climb up to the next city and wait for the next marker. The first team to visit all four cities, or the team that's further along in sixty seconds, wins.”

“Whoever wins this goes to the Temple!” Kirk yells. “Let's set the clock for sixty seconds! On your mark, get set, go!

Both teams score Torun right off the bat, but after reaching Malbork, the Orange Iguanas start having trouble, due to Debbie firing the marker too high for Zack to catch. The Silver Snakes have the same difficulty until about thirty seconds into the game, when Brad catches the marker and places it on Malbork to move on. The Orange Iguanas finally visit Malbork with seventeen seconds left on the clock. As the game nears its end, Lorelle fires one last marker towards Brad, who catches it and puts it on Elblag just before time runs out.

“Ohh, they scored at the last second!” Kirk yells as the boys pause and look down at him. “The Silver Snakes managed to capture Elblag before time ran out, giving them the full Pendant of Life!” The audience applauds as Brad and Lorelle start cheering. “The Silver Snakes have two Pendants, the Orange Iguanas have one! The Silver Snakes are goin' to the Temple!” As the Silver Snakes celebrate, the Orange Iguanas join in on the celebration, with Debbie hugging Lorelle. “The Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort, they're not going away empty-handed. Here's what we've got for them.” They receive Razor Freestyle Scooter for the Nintendo 64.

When the prize disappears, we see Kirk standing next to Lorelle, with Brad hanging on the wall. “We're gonna see if the Silver Snakes can make it through Olmec's Temple and retrieve the Model Manuscript of Copernicus, right after this!”

The camera pans in on the Temple, giving us brief glimpses of the other rooms, before stopping on the manuscript in the Eclipsed Light Room. The title follows soon afterward, and we go to a commercial.

When we return from commercial, the camera shows a column trapped in the vines of the Overgrown Pit before cutting to Kirk and the Silver Snakes, who are now standing in front of the Temple.

“Welcome back to Legends,” he says. “Brad and Lorelle have proven themselves worthy and have earned the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But before they can get started, Olmec is going to give them some information to help them retrieve the Model Manuscript of Copernicus...”

Olmec begins his rundown, complete with a first-person walkthrough of the Temple: “You could start...by running up the stairs into the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Overgrown Pit. Use the outcroppings to maneuver across, and climb into the Eclipsed Light Room. Focus the light on the black orb, and a door may open into the Heart Room. Turn the levers to awaken the sleeping heart, and pass into the Room...of the Ancient Warriors! Place yourself into the correct armor, and open the door to the SHRIIIINE of the Decayed Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed toward the Lightning Room. Connect the power cords to create your own lightning, and open the door to the Pharaoh's Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Chamber of Dry Waters, where you could pull the chains to unleash the waterfall, or smash through to the Dark Forest. But beware of the Temple Guards that may inhabit the trees! Find the key in the tree, and you'll enter the Murky Swamp. Traverse through the muck, and you'll gain entry to...the Lair of the Butterfly. Rip the wings off of the butterflies, then...pass through the pit, climb through the Moss Cavern, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours alone...” He briefly pauses. “You won two Pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first?”

“I am!” Brad yells while raising his hand.

“Very well, Brad. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the Gates into the Temple and make your way toward the Model Manuscript of Copernicus. Hidden inside the Temple are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, but! If you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple, and it'll be Lorelle's turn to enter and try her luck. If you can reach the Model Manuscript, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the Model Manuscript in three minutes, and you'll both be handsomely rewarded – and here's how!”

  • For just getting into the Temple, they'll both receive a gift package from Outdoor Products.
  • If they can grab the Model Manuscript within three minutes, they'll also receive a Nintendo Gamecube, along with two games.
  • If they bring the Model Manuscript out of the Temple before three minutes is up, they'll be going on a vacation to the Bahamas.

“Alright, let's see if we can get these guys to the Bahamas!” Kirk says as Brad prepares to depart. “Let's get in position, mouthpieces in. Olmec, lower your gate, please.” Olmec lets out a low groan as the gate lowers. “Let's set the clock for three minutes! On your mark, get set, go!

Brad rushes into the Temple, wasting little time in getting into the Crypt. He pulls the first book, which opens the door to the Moss Cavern, but he ignores it and goes for the second book, which opens the door to the Overgrown Pit. 2:46 remains as he jumps into the Pit, but he struggles to reach the bottom door due to the vines. He manages to enter the Lair of the Butterfly, but the moment he reaches into the stage-right display case, the first Temple Guard emerges!

“He's gonna have to give up his Pendant!” Brad hands his over with little hesitation, and goes straight back to tearing up the butterflies. By the time he rips the sixth one apart, 2:19 remains on the clock. “Lorelle's just waiting, she knows if Brad gets caught again, that'll be her turn to go.” He rushes through the Murky Swamp, though a vine in that room gets caught on his shoe as he reaches the actuator, making him take time to get it off before hitting the button. “He's going into the Dark Forest – hope there isn't a Temple Spirit in one of the trees...” Brad looks around, as if trying to decide what to do next. He reaches into the stage-left tree, where he's ensnared by a Temple Spirit with 2:07 left to go!

“Oh, a Temple Spirit! Time for Lorelle to go in!” Kirk yells as Lorelle runs into the Temple. She follows her partner's path, going from the Crypt to the Overgrown Pit, where she's slowed down by the vines. She has less than 1:50 remaining by the time she enters the Lair of the Butterfly, where she nearly slips on one of the butterfly wings on the ground. She stops herself from falling and makes it to the Murky Swamp. She ignores the vines here and makes a beeline to the Dark Forest, with 1:39 left on the clock as she enters the room. She reaches into the tree her partner was caught by, but finds nothing. She tries the other tree, and she manages to grab the key. “She's got the key! Will it lead her to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey?” She attempts to open the door behind that tree, but the key does nothing. “She's got one option left: bust through the wall!” Which she does, leading her to the Chamber of Dry Waters.

As the clock reaches the 1:20 mark, she yanks on the chain closest to the stone wall, but it does nothing. “That one won't work! Try another!” She immediately runs to the one by the Temple Guard door, and yanks it. It's the right one, as the water comes pouring out of the opening. She looks up, and sees that the door to the Shrine is open, so she takes the ladder. It takes her a bit to climb, as she gets into the Shrine of the Decayed Monkey with 1:05 left. It takes her a few seconds to locate the base, but when she grabs it, the final Temple Guard emerges from the back door!

“Temple Guard! She's got a full Pendant, so she can go on!” The encounter seemed to throw her off, as it takes her a bit to assemble the monkey; only 45 seconds are left by the time she pushes the head down and enters the Room of the Ancient Warriors. “She's just one room away from the manuscript!” Kirk narrates as Lorelle tries the first armor. It takes her a bit to pull the arms down, but nothing happens. She immediately tries the armor in the middle, and this time, the doors open. She races into the Eclipsed Light Room and grabs the Model Manuscript with 30 seconds left!

“She's got it! All the doors are open, she's still got time to get out!” Kirk yells as Brad cheers her on. After a brief pause, Lorelle runs down the stairs and returns to the Overgrown Pit, where she hops on the outcroppings and makes her way towards the Crypt. She trips up the stairs, but manages to get up. She goes through the Crypt and runs down the stairs before passing the gate with 12 seconds remaining.

“They did it!” Kirk shouts as Brad and Lorelle start to celebrate, while fanfare starts to play. “They've got it all! They got the gift package, they got the Gamecube! They're going to the Bahamas!” Brad starts jumping for joy while Lorelle keeps the manuscript in her hands, with a big smile on her face. “We've got to go, but join us again for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!”

The three continue their celebration, with Lorelle occasionally holding the manuscript up high as the credits roll.

The Model Manuscript of Copernicus
Layout: Season 1, Layout 1
Artifact Location: The Eclipsed Light Room
No. of Rooms Entered to Reach Artifact: 8
Team: Silver Snakes (Brad and Lorelle)
No. of Pendants: 2
Result: Escaped in Time, 0:12 Remaining!

It seems funny that the Silver Snakes made it to the Temple in the first episode of the Legends revival, similar to how they made it in the first aired episode back in 1993. While it wasn't a close victory like that one, it's a bit of a marvel that the team managed to grab the artifact from the top of the central shaft. A lot about this episode was great, especially the Temple Games where both teams had a full Pendant going into the final game. It could have been the Orange Iguanas coming in if Brad and Lorelle didn't score at the last minute.

Brad was a fast frontrunner, and knew what he was doing. Not even the new room, the Lair of the Butterfly, slowed him down. The one time he did slow down, however, was in the Dark Forest. He was probably thinking whether or not he should risk going into the Shrine. He tried his luck, and wound up being removed with a good 2:07 remaining.

Lorelle wasn't as fast, but she still made good time. She even checked if the Shrine door opened in the Chamber of Dry Waters. Good thing she did, too; this probably wouldn't have been a victory if she went in the Lightning Room instead. When she grabbed the manuscript, she did the smart thing and went straight across the Pit instead of going downwards. This was a good episode to start on, and here's hoping that the rest of the season is just as good.

Now if only the Silver Snakes came first in the Moat, then I would've had an excuse to label this a "Silver Snake Supremacy" episode, unless them tying in the first two games ruins that as well.

Trivia
 - Both Olmec and the Temple have been rebuilt, but while Olmec looks closer to his Season 3 self, the Temple was deliberately made to look like it wasn't used in a while (seven years, technically), with the Overgrown Pit and the Shrine of the Decayed Monkey being prime examples of this.
 - One thing to note about the Temple Games is how no one knew how to pronounce most of the town names during the team game. Even Olmec had trouble earlier (he didn't pronounce Torun right during the Steps, but got it right during the last game), and no one could say 'Elblag' correctly.
- Speaking of mess ups, it wouldn't feel right without Kirk screwing up somewhere. He used the term 'captured' instead of 'visited' in the last game; called the 'Shrine of the Decayed Monkey' the 'Shrine of the Silver Monkey'; the aforementioned town names; and he nearly messed up at the end of the Steps, but corrected himself.
- The Temple Run music sounds like it did during the 'Dried Apple Half of William Tell' and 'The Bullet-Riddled Handbag of Belle Boyd' runs. Oddly enough, this lasts until episode 8.
- This marks the first time Kirk is seen in one of the Temple's rooms, and the first and only time he's seen completing an objective. This is also the only time we see him in the Heart Room; why he changed entrances after this episode is unknown.

Great start. Granted, the Temple Games were quite loosely tied to the Legend, but I can overlook it since this is your first episode. The Temple Run was also fun to read, and yes, there's no way anyone who isn't Polish could pronounce those words correct.  :)

Looking forward to reading more!
