*the camera zooms in on an ancient lush jungle, the palms are moving away as an elephant is heard*

*all the palms are gone, showing Olmec*

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple. With your guide? Kirk Fogg!

*Kirk is shown slidding down a zipline & jumping off into the usual area*

Kirk: Thank you everyone. Thank you Olmec. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are The rooms are filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: The Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook.

Kirk: The Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook! Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Sandal. Will it be *camera zooms into each team as they cheer & the usual* The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they?ll have to do it today.

Olmec: Each team will have 1 rope. There will be a small "island" (platform) in the middle. On go, one player will swing out to the middle of the island. They will pull a hanging chain, which will release a hooked bridge that was attached to the bottom. Than, you'll walk across the bridge to the other side. Than you're partner will swing across & walk across the bridge to ring the gong *Kirk bangs the Silver Snakes? gong*. The first four teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright, teams are you ready?!

*the teams cheer*

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?!

Olmec: Oh yeah!!

Kirk: On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*all 6 teams are even as they go across the bridge, after making it to the island*

*the second players on each team all make it to the island, but Purple Parrots & Silver Snakes fall off*

*Green Monkeys, Red Jaguars, Orange Iguanas, & Blue Barracudas bang their gongs in that order*

Kirk: Wow, that was a quick moat! Going onto the Steps of Knowledge are the Orange Iguanas! The Green Monkeys! The Blue Barracudas! & the Red Jaguars! Purple Parrots, Silver Snakes, you gave it your all, but you won?t go home empty handed. *Olmec explains prize*

*the camera changes to the four dry teams on the top of the Steps of Knowledge*

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: One of the most famous explorers, navigators, & cartographers was Captain James Cook. During his career, he made 3 voyages across the Pacific Ocean & charted many areas, from Newfoundland to New Zealand. While commanding the HMS Resolution, & made a ?pit stop? at the island of Hawaii. The Hawaiians disliked Cook, so they stole one of his small boats. Like Cook did in Tahiti & other islands, he planned to take some people hostage until he got the boat back.

Cook: *talking to his crew* So, we?re gonna take the Hawaiian Chief hostage & they?ll need to give us back the boat!

Crew Member: Why that?s genius!

2nd Crew Member: No doubt it?ll work!

Olmec: But legend has it that a Hawaiian spy overheard the conversation & told the whole island Cook?s plan. The Hawaiians gathered with stones & spears & Cook?s crew attacked. The Hawaiians fiercely fought back in this fracas & one of the Hawaiians hit Cook in the head! Than, Cook was stabbed to death & his first mate took the chart-maps, which have made their way to the Temple! Your quest is to find the Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook & bring them back here.

Kirk: Where are the Chart-Maps, Olmec?

Olmec: The Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook can be found in the Ranch!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

*Green Monkeys hit the step*

Kirk: OK, Green Monkeys, since you rang in first, you would be able to answer. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level *Kirk runs down there* will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for the first question.

*Orange Iguanas hop down a step*

Olmec: Is cartography the study of: locations on the Earth, map making, or animals?

Orange Iguanas: Map making?

Olmec: That is correct!

*Orange Iguanas go down another step*

Kirk: Orange Iguanas, one more correct answer & you move onto the Temple Games.

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down a step*

Olmec: How many voyages did Cook make: One, two, or three?

*Green Monkeys jump down another step*

Kirk: Green Monkeys, one more correct answer & you move onto the Temple Games.

Olmec: In Cook?s third voyage, did he make a pit stop in: Madagascar, Japan, or Hawaii?

Green Monkeys: Hawaii!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys go to the bottom step*

Kirk: Now, one more team can go to the Temple Games.  Purple Parrots, Silver Snakes, you guys can still catch up!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Orange Iguanas go down by the Green Monkeys*

Kirk: Purple Parrots, Silver Snakes, come on down! You guys tried hard & you won?t leave empty handed. *Olmec explains prize*

Kirk: *only Green Monkeys & Orange Iguanas are next to him* These two teams will be going head to head for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple, right after this!

Kirk: Welcome back. The glory goes to the fastest & the strongest, but before we watch the teams, I wanna get to know them. On the Green Monkeys, we have Lyle, who likes money & wants to run a mail-order bride catalogue when he grows up. His partner is Bridgette, who likes to play games & wants to be a cleaner. On the Orange Iguanas, we have Jarod, who likes to help people & likes to create up stories. His partner is Parker, who likes to play tag & wants to be a stunt driver! Let?s here it for the teams! Now, girls get ready for the first Temple Game, guys get ready for the second. Okay, go get ready for the Temple Games, I?m going to explain what?s gonna happen. Teams are competing in temple games to win: Pendants of Life. *shows two pendants* They?re going to need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games. Olmec, tell us about temple game number one.

Olmec: James Cook has attacked with spears from the Hawaiians. Now, you will be a Hawaiian. Each of you will be strapped to a spinning pole. On go, you?ll grab a spear on the ground & try to throw it through the hole in the circle. The person who gets the most bulls eyes in 60 seconds wins!

Kirk: This is just how the Hawaiians did it! Not? On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*Parker & Bridgette are spinning & missing miserably*

*Bridgette finally gets a bulls eye with 35 seconds left*

*Parker gets one, but it hits the side & doesn?t go in*

*both keep missing until time runs out*

Kirk: Time! Green Monkeys got 1. Orange Iguanas got 0! Green Monkeys win the ? Pendant of Life! Don?t worry, the Orange Iguanas can come back. Olmec, tell us about Temple game number two!

Olmec: Cook?s crew fought with the Hawaiians. Now, you two are gonna have to fight with sheer strength! Each of you is attached to one end of a rope. You?ll start in the middle of the field. On go, you?ll run & try to pull your partner in a tug a war-like match. When you get to your flag, grab it. The first person to grab their flag, or the person closest in 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: This is gonna be tough. On your marks? get set? pull!

*Jarod & Lyle start running in opposite direction*

*Lyle falls on his butt & tries to get back up*

*Lyle gets up & is fighting back, but Jarod is almost at hit flag*

*Lyle starts to pull Jarod, but Jarod recovers & grabs his flag with 36 seconds left*

Kirk: That?s it! Jarod, you were tough & you won the ? Pendant of Life! Olmec, tell us about the final Temple Game.

Olmec: The Hawaiians stole Cook?s small boat. Now you?ll have to steal a boat. Pull the heavy boat across the floor to the end first!

Kirk: This is gonna be a tough pull. On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*both teams are trying to drag the boat*

*Parker & Jarod decide to push it & it starts moving*

*Lyle & Bridgette are struggling, but get it to move a little bit*

*Parker & Jarod are almost at the finish line when Jarod trips*

*Jarod gets back up & pushes it across the finish line*

Kirk: That was close! The Orange Iguanas took some spills, but they got across first, giving them 1 ? Pendants total! Green Monkeys had ? a Pendant, Orange Iguanas go to the Temple! Green Monkeys, you gave it your all, but you will go home with a prize. *Olmec explains prize*

Kirk: *only Orange Iguanas* These tough tenacious Orange Iguanas are gonna see if they can retrieve the Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook right after this!

Kirk: Welcome back. Jarod & Parker have proven themselves worthy and have earned themselves the right to enter Olmec?s temple. But before we get started, Olmec, can you give the Purple Parrots any clues about your Temple & how to retrieve the Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook?

Olmec: You can start off in the Miner?s Cave. Crawl through the tunnel to make it into the Pit of Anguish. If you can get across, you can head into the Crocodile?s Mouth! Grab the fish from the walls & put them into the crocodile?s mouth & you can go up into the Ranch, where you can grab the Chart-Maps! Or you can head into the Anaconda?s Sanctuary. Untangle the snake & attach it to the wall & go into the Sacred Safari! Find the key in the elephant?s mouth, but beware of the Temple Guards, disguised as elephants! You can go up, or bust through the wall into the Battlefield! Jump on the trampoline to reach the ladder in the Ninja?s Secret Training Chamber & climb into the Ladder of Doom! Put the correct torch into the torch holder & enter the Shriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine of the Siiiiiiilver Monkey! Assemble the statue & go into the Chamber of the Royal Containers. Dump the containers on the floor & find the key to go down, or head into the Observation Tower! Line up the telescope with the markings on the wall to open the door to cross the Stumps of Dejection! Use the 2 planks to get across the four stumps, or jump back into the Pit of Anguish. Race thorough the Hammered Nails & back to the Temple Gates! The choices are yours & yours alone! You won two pendants into the Temple. Who is going first?

Jarod: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Jarod! When Kirk gives the signal, you?ll race through the gate into the temple and make your way towards the Chart-Maps of Captain James Cook. Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you?re caught without a pendant, you?ll be taken out of the temple and it will be Parker?s turn to try her luck. Hidden inside the Temple is a ? Pendant. If you find it, you get an extra life. If you can reach the artifact, all the doors in the temple will instantly unlock, and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the artifact within three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded. And here?s how! *Olmec explains three prizes*

Kirk: Jarod is gonna try his hardest! On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*Jarod races up into the Hammered Nails*

*He pounds all 3 hammers & goes into Stumps of Dejection with 2:49 left*

*He gets across, tries the Ranch door, & goes up into the Observation Tower with 2:31 left*

*a Jarod gives his Pendant to the Temple Guard*

*Jarod lines up the telescope & no door opens*

*Jarod goes back & jumps down into the Pit of Anguish & goes into the Crocodile?s Mouth with 2:18 left*

*a Temple Guard captures Jarod with 2:15 left*

Kirk: GO PARKER!

*Parker follows Jarod?s path & gets all 9 fish in the crocodile?s mouth & goes into the Anaconda?s Sanctuary with 1:54 left*

*Parker takes a spill on the cargo net floor but unties the anaconda & attaches him to the wall with 1:40 left*

*Parker goes into the Sacred Safari & grabs the half pendant on the elephant?s tusk*

*she busts through the wall & climbs up the ladder into the Ladder of Doom with 1:28 left*

*Parker puts the first torch the holder & goes into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:23 left*

*Parker assembles the monkey & runs into the Chamber of the Royal Containers with 1:07 left*

*Parker gives the Pendant to the Temple Guard*

*Parker hits the actuator into the Ranch & goes into it*

*Parker grabs the Chart-Maps with 59 seconds left*

*Parker tries to walk across the Stumps of Dejection, but falls into the Pit of Anguish*

*Parker has trouble getting out, but enters the Miner?s Cave with 48 seconds left*

*Parker gets stuck in the Miner?s Cave, but gets out & jumps down the stairs with 36 seconds left*

Kirk: YES! YES!!!!! THEY GOT IT ALL! THEY DID IT! We gotta leave, I don?t wanna, but we gotta. Join us next time on a great Legends of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!

It seems we have a whole lot of incredibly fast teams in this fantasy season. The win to loss ratio is about 3 to 1 now! Again, nice attention to detail on each section. :)

Don't worry, all I want to say is that the next episode (of my works) WILL NOT be a victory.

I think this wasn't particulary that the team was really fast, but Parker knew what she was doing. If you can picture it in your head, I think Jarod went pretty slow, & Parker had some slow moments, but it was just that she knew what she was doing.

Tiffani from the Much-Heralded Helmet episode pretty much knew what she was doing and she only had 11 seconds on the clock left when she finished... not to mention that was a solo run.... So yeah... i dunno... it just seems odd to me when the team traverses the entire temple and still gets out with like 35 seconds to spare... But this is fiction so you can do whatever you want with it.
