(The camera moves through a mass of thick palm trees, revealing portions of an ancient mayan temple as a waterfall and animals are heard. The jungle ends, and Olmec is revealed)

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple!

(The camera shifts to the temple and its rooms as the pendant crashes together)

Olmec: With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now.

(The pendant now splinters to reveal Kirk climbing out of the Jungle Crevice and running up the Steps of Knowledge)

Kirk: Thank you very much! Thank you! Nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle! The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: The legend of Lake Victoria and the Secret Diary of Burton!

Kirk: Oh, Lake Victoria and the Secret Diary of Burton! Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve this Secret Diary! Will it be The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They're going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they have to do it today.

Olmec: Before you lie the remains of an ancient Roman road. When Kirk gives the signal, walk carefully out to the broken slabs. If you fall in, or if a hand or knee touches the road, you must go back and start again. When the first partner has crossed, the second partner will cross the same way. When both partners have crossed, run over and hit the gong!

(Kirk hits the Silver Snake?s gong to demonstrate)

Olmec: The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!

Kirk: Are you ready for that, teams?!

Teams: Yeeaaahhh!!!!

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: Let?s rock.

Kirk: On your marks, get set, go!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: We've got our four teams! Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes??and the Purple Parrots??and the Orange Iguanas??and the Blue Barracudas! Red Jaguars and Green Monkeys gave it a great effort too. They will not be going away empty handed though, here's what we have for them:

Kirk: As we continue our quest, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Secret Diary of Burton. But teams, pay close attention because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple.

Olmec: There were once two ambitious explorers wanting to find the source of the great Nile River. They were Speke and Burton. Burton disliked Speke, and legend has it that he kept a diary where he not only recorded information , but also to write bad things about Speke. On their expedition, Burton had a feeling that it was Lake Tanganyika that was the source of the mighty Nile, but sadly, he was wrong.

Speke: I've found it!

Burton: Found what?

Speke: The source of the Nile! I'm going to name it after Queen Victoria!

Olmec: And so the lake was named Lake Victoria, and later was proved to be the real source of the Nile. Burton was so furious, he tossed away his diary which he put all his hard work into, and it made its way to the temple! Your quest is to retrieve the Secret Diary of Burton and bring it back here.

Kirk: Thank you Olmec, so tell us, where is Burton's secret diary?

(Camera shows the diary, then zooms out to show its location)

Olmec: The Secret Diary of Burton can be found in the Catfish Cove.

Kirk: Ooh, the Catfish Cove! Teams, you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about the legend you just heard. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you'll move down to the next level. If you're wrong or run out of time, I'm going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for your first question.

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, I want to meet our teams here. On the Orange Iguanas, we have David. He is 13 and enjoys playing video games with his friends on weekends. Tell me about that, David.

David: Well, I have an Xbox 360, and on most weekends, I go out to play soccer with my friends at school, then we come home and have a big competition.

Kirk: And what's your favorite game on the Xbox?

David: Probably Halo 3.

Kirk: Ah. And David's partner is Kelly. She is 12 and likes swimming and dancing, but she also likes to write stories. Tell me about that, Kelly.

Kelly: Well, I loved to write when I was young - you know, just random stuff really, but now I actually write full-length books.

Kirk: And do you do well with writing in school as well?

Kelly: Well, could be better! (laughs)

Kirk: Alright, let's give it up for the Orange Iguanas!

(Applause)

Kirk: And over here, we have the Silver Snakes! On the Silver Snakes, we have Michael. He is 14 and he likes to take long bike rides, and he likes to listen to music, but he also likes skateboarding! Tell us about that, Michael.

Michael: Well, it's kind of a new thing to me, I only started at the beginning of this year, and, um, I'm still trying to pull a 360.

Kirk: Wow, a 360! This guy likes the extreme! And his partner here is Iris. She is 13 and she enjoys softball and swimming, but she also likes to act. Tell me about that, Iris.

Iris: Well, I don't know, I just liked imagining I was an actress.

Kirk: And so that caused you to like it

Iris: Yeah, I guess. (laughs)

Kirk: And, uh, do you act in school plays or something?

Iris: Yeah, I'm in the middle school musical.

Kirk: Middle School Musical! We've got some talented players here on the Silver Snakes, give it up for them!

(Applause)

Kirk: Well, OK, uh....why don't you teams go and get ready for your games, and I'll explain what's going to happen here. In the temple games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life. (Kirk holds up a pendant). They need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games, and here we have temple game #1...well, Olmec, tell us about it!

Olmec: Burton's expedition took him into the depths of Africa. Now you are going to go through the continent yourselves! When Kirk gives the signal, you will climb up and down through the maze and make your way through the African continent. When you reach the bottom, unhook yourself from the maze! The first player to do so, or the team that's further along at the end of sixty seconds....wins!

Kirk: This is one crazy path through Africa! Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, go!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Time's up! The Ora...Silver Snakes here got just a little further than the Orange Iguanas, so they get the half pendant of life! The next game is also worth a half pendant, and Olmec will also tell us about that one.

Olmec: Burton and Speke were looking for the source of the Nile River. Now you're going to have to get across the Nile River! When Kirk gives the signal, step onto the first platform and move your way across the river. If one of the platforms sink, you must go back and start again. The first team to make it across - or the team that's further along at the end of sixty seconds - wins!

Kirk: Who said crossing a river's easy? Well, we'll see. Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: The Silver Snakes made it across first! They blazed right across the river, so that gives them another half pendant. The third and final game is worth a full pendant, and that might help the Orange Iguanas catch up! Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: In the age of exploration, not all trips were made completely by boat! Before you stands a horse for your expedition. When the time starts, your horse will start to spin. The player with the most players on the horse at the end of sixty seconds wins!

Kirk: Oh man, they're going to get a little dizzy! Maybe, maybe not! Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Whoa, that was a tough match! I mean, how many horses spin like that?! All four of them stayed on, so they BOTH get the half...I mean, full pendant of life! That gives the Silver Snakes two pendants, the Orange Iguanas had one, the Silver Snakes are GOING TO THE TEMPLE!

(Cheers)

Kirk: The Orange Iguanas gave it a gallant effort too, and here's a great gift for their efforts:

Kirk: Will the Silver Snakes get the Secret Diary and hopefully....we'll find out what's inside! Well, maybe not....we'll find out right after this!

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. The Silver Snakes have proven themselves worthy, and now have earned the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But before we get started, Olmec will give us some information on how to retrieve the Secret Diary...of Richard Burton!

Olmec: You could start by running up into the Room of the Tropicana Birds. Press down the correct beak, and pass into the Jungle Crevice. There, swing across, and climb into the Mouth of the Jaguar. Place the four fangs into the mouth, and you might descend into the Lion's Lair. Correctly place both heads, and pass into the Vine Drop. There, you might climb down through the wall of plants, or pull the vines to enter the Shriiiiine of the Siiiiilver Monkeeey! Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Catfish Cove, where you can grab the Secret Diary, and race down the Falls into the Secret Spring. You might plow through the stone wall into the Sacred Safari, find the key - but be careful! One of the elephants could be inhabited by the spirit of a temple guard! Next, climb into the Tropical Forest. If you escape, you will gain entry to the Chameleon Chamber. Change the color of the correct chameleon to release the doors. Then, crawl through the Crevice, climb through the Mining Chamber, race down the stairs on back through the temple gates! The choices are yours and yours alone. You won two pendants in the temple games. Who's going first?

Iris: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Iris! When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the temple, and make your way towards the Secret Diary of Burton! Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on but if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the temple...and it will be Michael's turn to enter and try his luck. If you can reach the diary, all the doors of the temple will instantly unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gate with the Secret Diary in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded?and here's how!

Dee: For just going into the temple, you'll each be getting a mountain bike! High quality suspension, and made out of lightweight aluminum. Get around quickly and comfortably! Silver Snakes: Yeah!

Kirk: Well, we'll see if you can get it. Let's get in position here, mouthpieces in! Let's put three minutes on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: Olmec, lower your gate!

(Olmec moans as the gate lowers, and the lights switch off as he stops humming)

Kirk: Get ready, Iris! On your marks, get set, GO!!!

(Iris races up the stairs and right up into the Room of the Tropicana Birds. The first beak opens the door, but out of nowhere, a TEMPLE GUARD appears!)

(Quickly, she throws him a pendant and turns around to rush down the stairs towards the Jungle Crevice with 2:43. "She's making great time!" comments Kirk, as Iris swiftly swings over the pit and hits the actuator of the Lion's Lair with 2:35 remaining)

(The door slides open, but then Iris suddenly changes her mind and jumps down into the Jungle Crevice with 2:29 remaining. She punches the actuator of the door of the Chameleon Chamber without difficulty, and slides right down)

(She lights up the stage-leftmost chameleon. It dosen't work, so she tries another one and it lights up a bright silver which illuminates the room with a soft glow, and the doors upwards and sideways open with 2:19)

(Iris quickly jumps into the Tropical Forest with 2:15. She has trouble moving through the murky jungle, but manages to hit the actuator and  climb down into the Sacred Safari)

(She charges for the wall, and hits it hands-first with 2:00 remaining - but it won't budge! She returns to the elephants, reaches into the first mouth, and the key appears in her hand! Sticking it to the actuator, the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey swings open)

(Climbing up the ladder, she emerges through the "cabinet doors" with 1:47 left on the clock. She puts the monkey together in 17 seconds, and all the doors in the room immediately open!)

(Running up the small flight of steps to the Catfish Cove, she grabs the SECRET DIARY with 1:25 left to go, and begins her trip back by blazing through the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and into the Vine Drop!)

(She heads up to the Mouth of the Jaguar, then down again to the rock slab with 1:09. She reaches for the vine....but she's too short to grab it! She then jumps off the ledge and nearly misses the other one, but manages to fall safely back down into the Jungle Crevice with 1:01 left to escape!)

("She's still got lots of time to get out of there! Go, go, go!" yells Kirk from the sidelines, as Michael is seen cheering enthusiastically. Iris, however, drops a glove down into the depths of the Mining Chamber!)

("Never mind about that!" says Kirk. Iris slowly makes her way out of old entrance with 0:45 seconds left! She crawls up the slide, races down the stairs and jumps down to greet Kirk and Michael excitedly, crossing the gate with a total of 39 seconds left!)

Kirk: SHE DID IT! She did it all by herself! They got the Secret Diary, and now they're gonna get it all, folks! We've got to get outta here now, we have to but I don't wanna, see you next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle style! Buh-bye!

(Credits scroll as the camera pans to the open door in the Lion's Lair down to the Chameleon Chamber)

Summary:

There are some runs where wins are well-deserved. This is one of them! Iris reminded me of Tarrah from "The Milk Bucket of Freydis" from the orignial show, not only because she was little, but she also to jump the ledge in the Jungle Crevice near the end of the run!

Iris was a quick player that moved through the temple really quickly. She grabbed the rather large diary with over a minute left, and made it out really quickly even though she dropped her glove down into the old entrance of the Mining Chamber at the end of the run! I found that quite funny, and Kirk even told her to ignore it!

Now for the rest of this episode. This IS confirmed to be the first episode filmed for Wild Jungle's second season, and you clearly can tell that Kirk forgot his role in the first temple game. An interesting side note, Burton's first name was never mentioned in the entire episode, and Kirk clearly said "The Secret Diary of Richard Burton" right before the "Olmec's Advice". Nothing wrong with that, but just strange.

Anyhow, this was a great start to the series' second season, and I can't wait for the next new episode!

Honestly I would've waited a few months before I started in on Season 2, like TV shows often go into just reruns for a few months between seasons.

Otherwise, I like how you're starting to put in more detail with the player interviews, and the glove falling off was a unique touch to the Temple Run.

Thanks, I'm considering switching my fanfic style (AGAIN!!!!) to something more similar to your style but it would be like half-story style, half script style. I'm just not sure how the "public" would take it.

I know I should have waited. I was just on a roll, and then I posted the moat and seconds later I was like DAMMIT! THAT WAS SEASON 2! :wink:

Oh well.....
