Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle

(The camera shifts to the temple and its rooms)

Olmec: With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now.

(Kirk is seen coming down the steps of the temple)

Kirk: Thank you, thank you! It's nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: The legend of the Apple of Isaac Newton.

Kirk: Wow, the Apple of Isaac Newton! Well, the legend is set and one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve Isaac's apple. Will it be The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They're going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec's temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and here's how they're gonna have to do it today.

Across the moat lie six soapy platforms. When I say go, the first partner will slide across the platform to the other side. However, this is a very slippery surface, so if you drop into the water, you must start again. When both partners have crossed, run over and hit the gong! (Kirk hits the Red Jaguras' gong) The first four teams to hit their gongs go on to the next round...are you ready?

Teams: Yeeaaahhh!!!!

Kirk: Olmec are you ready?

Olmec: Let's rock!

Kirk: Alright, Olmec! Teams! On your marks, Get Set, GO!!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: That's it! We've got our four teams! Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys! And the Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots! Blue Barracudas and Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too. They will not be going away empty handed though, here's what we have for them:

Kirk: As we continue our quest, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about Isaac Newton's Apple. But teams, pay close attention because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple.

Olmec: A person who can safely be named more influencial than Albert Einstein was Isaac Newton. Born in January 1643, he grew up and became a mathematician first. Many people today even believe that Newton was one of the two creators of calculus. Later, however, his intrest grew to optics. After this, in 1677, he returned to mechanics and gravity. One fine day, Isacc Newton fatefully walked under an apple tree. Legend has it, an apple dropped and hit him on his head, allowing him to be more aware about the forces of gravity. He sold the public his views on gravity, but forgot completely about the apple that hit him. It later ended up in the temple. Your quest is to find the Apple of Isaac Newton, and bring it back here.

Kirk: Thank you Olmec. But tell us, where is this apple?

(Camera shows the apple, then zooms out to show its location)

Olmec: The Apple of Isaac Newton can be found in the Mouth of the Jaguar.

Kirk: Alright, Olmec! Teams, you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about the legend you just heard. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're first, your step will light up.

(Green stomps down first)

Then you've got to answer the question. If you're right, you'll move down to the next level. If you're wrong or run out of time, I'm going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for your first question.

Kirk: We've got our two teams who are going the Temple Games! They are the Red Jaguars and the Purple Parrots! The Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort, and they are not going home empty handed. We got a cool prize for both of them, and here it is.

Kirk: These two teams will play for the right to enter Olmec's Temple, and they're gonna do it right after this!

(Pendant joins)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, let's get to know our team players. On the Red Jaguars, we have Josh. He likes to draw comics and play soccer. And his partner Helen likes enjoys singing and also playing soccer. We don't wanna mess with this team--we might get kicked! Let's hear it for the Red Jaguars!

(Applause)

Kirk: And on the Purple Parrots we have Gary. He likes to play basketball and golf and wants to be stars in both! And his partner Alana likes drawing and playing table tennis! Let's hear it for the Purple Parrots!

(Applause)

Kirk: Alright now, you guys might wanna go get ready. This is what's going to happen: in the temple games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life. (Kirk holds up a pendant). They need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games. And this is temple game number one:

Newton really liked math at one point of time during his life, and that meant big amounts of numbers! So now, you've gotta get many numbers. When I say go, crawl into those tubes and pop up somewhere in the maze and try to get a number. Then bring it back here to this shelf. There are ten numbers: 1 to 10, and you are gonna try and put them all in order. The first team to do so wins!

Okay, let's count! On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Okay! So the Red Jaguards got back first, so they get the half pendant of life! The next game is also worth a half pendant, and here it is:

Newton had three main interests in his life. When I say go, hop into the wheel and race down the ramp to the other end. Get out, grab a ball and come back here, and drop it in your bucket. Then get back in, roll over again and get the next one, and bring it back here. The first team to get all three balls in their bucket wins, or the team that's further along at the end of sixty seconds wins!

Alright now. Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Okay! Stop rolling the wheels. Okay, let's come over here, now. The Orange Iguanas got two balls, and so did the Purple Parrots! So it's a tie: they both get the half-pendant! The next game, however is worth a full pendant:

Isaac Newton's apple hit him on the head. Now you have to hit all these people! When I say go, you are going to load your catapult with a ball and shoot it up to your partner. He is then going to throw the ball from his platform up there onto the heads of these statues and hopefully knock them over because that's the point of the game! The first team to knock down all four, or the team that knocks down more statues at the end of sixty seconds wins!

Kirk: WATCH OUT FOR THE APPLES! Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Alright now. The Red Jaguars got two statues over, and the Purple Parrots unfortunetely didn't get any! Aww, but that means that the Red have two pendants while Purple only have a half, the Red Jaguars are going to the temple!

(Cheers)

Kirk: Don't worry, Pruple Parrots, you guys did a good job too! You're gonna take home a cool prize:

Kirk: The Red Jaguars are going to Olmec's temple, right after this!

(camera pans to the middle bit of the Silver Monkey)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. The Red Jaguars have proven themselves worthy, and now have earned the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But before we get started, Olmec will give us some information on how to retrieve the The Apple of...Isaac Newton!

Olmec: You could start by running through the Mining Chamber and climbing down into the Pit of Despair. Crawl through the pit, then race into the Chameleon Chamber. Change the color of the right chameleon and you could choose to go up the Lion's Lair, or into the Spider's Lair. If you escape, you may have a chance to enter the Sacred Safari. Find the right key to go upstairs, or plough through the wall and into the Wild Whirlpool. Next, climb up the slide into the Forest Fire Room, and place all the water puzzle pieces down on top of the fire to open the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed for the Vine Drop. Next, race up to the Mouth of the Jaguar, where you can grab the Apple of Isaac Newton. Put the fangs in the mouth and jump back into the Pit. Pass through the Room of the Three Gargoyles, race down the stairs and back through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. Good luck!

Kirk: Okay, you guys won two pendants in the temple games, and here they are. Now, who's going first?

Josh: I am!

Kirk: Alright, Josh, when I say go, you will race through the gates into the temple and you'll make your way towards the apple. But be careful ? the Temple has many locked doors and dead ends. Also hidden in the Temple there are also Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. If you enter one of those rooms, a Temple Guard will jump out and grab you. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and it'll be Helen's turn to enter and try her luck. If you can reach the Apple, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. You'll have three minutes, and for your efforts you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!

(Prizes announced)

Kirk: Alright! Let's get in position here, mouthpieces in! Let's put three minutes on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GOO!!!

(Josh races up to the Room of the Three Gargoyles. The first tongue works, so he smoothly jumps toward the door of the Chameleon Chamber in the Pit with 2:54.)

(Entering the room, he meets the first temple guard and hands him a pendant. He lights up the first chameleon which is red and opens the doors upward and sideways. He climbs up to the Lion's Lair with 2:42 left.)

(Placing the first head on, he realizes that the direct route will not work, so he changes his mind and heads back down to the Chamber and into the Spider's Lair with 2:26.)

(Josh then moves quickly through the thick web and hits the actuator to the Sacred Safari with 2:20.)

(Busting through the wall, he meets the second guard who takes him out with 2:12 left!)

(Helen races into the temple, through the Three Gargoyles and into the Pit. She enters the Chameleon Chamber and climbs into the Spider's Lair with 1:48 left!)

(Entering the Sacred Safari, she tries to look for the key. She finds it, and uses it on the Lair door first before coming to her senses and climbs up to the Shrine)

(Entering with 1:31, Kirk yells, "Put it together!" She grabs for two pieces, but has to go back for the middle! She places down the base, then the middle, but the head backwards first. The doors open with 1:13 left!)

(She then races into the Forest Fire Room. She makes a grab for the burnt palm, but Josh yells "GO FOWARDS!" so she retreats into the Shrine with 0:57 left!)

(Moving into the Vine Drop, she pulls the first vine, then the second and the third. The downward doors open, and she climbs down! Kirk yells, so she gets up and pushes the button to the artifact!)

(The audience cheers as she reaches the Mouth of the Jaguar! She puts her hand in the mouth and grabs the apple! She heads down to the Lion's Lair with 0:31 left!)

(She takes a rather strange route by going into the Chameleon Chamber with 0:23 and climbs into the Pit of Despair. Kirk is hysterical now, and so is Josh. She is two rooms away from victory!)

(Wading through the balls, she climbs to the Chamber's second [top] entrance! The audience starts counting down as soon as she heads for the crawl tube!)

(The whole stage is loud with cheers as Helen makes her way through the Chamber and exits the temple. 3...2....and crosses for WJ's first one-second victory!!!!)

(The run is over, but she runs clear past Kirk and nearly knocks Josh over! Then she returns and enthusiastically hugs Kirk as he announces the outcome!!)

Kirk: SHE DID IT! SHE DID IT! THEY DID IT! They got it all folks! One second left! This is UNBELIEVABLE, but we have to believe it 'coz they're here now with Isaac's apple and all the prizes. We gotta go now--I don't wanna, but we gotta, so check us out next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle style! Buh-bye!

Summary:

The temple run sure had everyone holding onto their seats! Josh started ot in The Room of the Three Gargoyles and pushed in the first tongue, leading him thru the Pit of Despair and into the Chameleon Chamber, where he met a guard. He lit up red on first try and headed up to the Lion's Lair where he chose to go to the Spider's Lair instead. He was taken out in the Wild Whirlpool, and Helen retraced his steps pretty well. She found the key, but made one wrong turn. She tried the vines and almost made a loop...but went to the artifact. She took a rathe strange route out--climbing down the central shaft and entering the Chamber by its top entrance. Nevertheless, she raced out through the gates with a second to spare and almost knocking over Josh and Kirk himself!
