The camera manoeuvers through a lot of plants and stops in front of an ancient Mayan Temple. Then, a talking stone head appears and says:
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! (The pendant logo appears and the background shows the whole temple) With your guide, KIRK FOGG! (The pendant logo breaks into pieces) AND HERE HE IS NOW!!!!

Kirk swings in to the set and lands. He then says:
Thank you very much! Thank you! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost of treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend of each of the treasures of his temple. Which one are we gonna here about today?

Olmec: The legend of The last Teaching Scroll of Confucius!

Kirk: Oh, The Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius. Well, the legend is set, and one of these teams will have a chance to retrieve the scroll. Will it be... (The camera shows the team up close)

The Red Jaguars?
The Blue Barracudas?
The Green Monkeys?
The Orange Iguanas?
The Purple Parrots?
The Silver Snakes?

(The camera goes back to Kirk) They'll have to pass a lot of physical and mental tests, and in the end only on team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple. But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll have to do it today.

Olmec: Before you lies 3 vines hanging in the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, swing on the first vine and grab onto the second, then swing again and grab the third vine and swing across. Once the first player is safely across, their partner will do the same. If your feet touch the water, you must go back and start again. As soon as the second teammate is across, run over and hit the gong!

(Kirk hits the Silver Snake gong to demonstrate)

Olmec: The first 4 teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright. Teams! Are you ready?

(The teams indicate they're ready)

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: Let's get swinging.

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(The Purple Parrots are the only ones that are doing well, the other teams keep falling into the water. After 24 seconds, the Orange Iguanas finally get moving)

Kirk: The swing is very important!

(The Orange Iguanas make it to the other side, and the first Red Jaguar makes it to the other side, and so is the first Green Monkey)

Kirk: Orange is across, Green is across, the others need to scramble!

(The second Red Jaguar and Green Monkey hit their gongs, while the first Silver Snake makes it to the other side, and the steam in the Moat disappears)

Kirk: That's it! We got our 4 teams! (Kirk walks up to the Purple Parrots) Wow! You 2 blazed through the Moat so fast! Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Purple Parrots, and the Orange Iguanas, and the Green Monkeys, and the Red Jaguars.

Kirk: The Blue Barracudas and the Silver Snakes came up short, they're not gonna go away empty-handed, here's what they get.

Announcer: A savings bond from Skechers (Description).

(Kirk and the teams are at the Steps of Knowledge)

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the legend of the Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius, but pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple.

Olmec: One of the greatest philosophers of all time was Confucius. According to tradition, he was born in 551BC, in or near the city of Qufu, in the state of Lu which is part of the Shandong Province in China.

Olmec: His father married his mother when his father was very old and his mother was in her late teens. When his father died when Confucius was 3, they were brought into poverty. When Confucius was 19, he married Qi Guan and she gave birth to their son, Kong Li, at 20.

Olmec: When Confucius became Justice Minister, the neighbouring state of Qi thought Lu was getting too powerful, decided to sabotage their reforms by sending 100 good horses and 80 dancing girls to the Duke of Li which made him indulge himself and did not attend his duties for 3 days.

Olmec: ?How irresponsible, I?m outta here!? said Confucius and left Lu for better opportunities. And on his journey, he wrote the ?Analects?, poems in his ?Book of Odes? and the last teaching scroll which includes his Golden Rule in the negative form known as the sliver rule..

Olmec: When he found out his son died and when his disciples deserted him, he died of depression, but his last teaching scroll was stolen. Your quest is to find the Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius and bring it back here.

Kirk: Thanks, Olmec. So where is the scroll?

Olmec: The Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius can be found in the Dark Forest.

Kirk: Teams, you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, I?m gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you.  If you?re right, you?re gonna move down to the nest level, but if you?re wrong or ran out of time, I?m gonna give the other teams a chance to answer. The first 2 teams to make it to the other level will be one step closer to the Temple. Olmec, we?re now ready for the first question

Olmec: Confucius was a...

(Purple Parrots stomp in)
Purple Parrots: Philosopher.
Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Alright. Nice job, Purple. Next question

Olmec: What province is the state of Lu located in?

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Wow, Purple?s blazing, but the others can catch up. Next  question.

Olmec: Confucius married Qi Guan at the age of...

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Whoa! The Purple Parrots are going on, but we need another team, who?s it gonna be? Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: Incorrect
(Orange Iguanas stomp in)

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Nicely done, Orange Iguanas. Next question.

Olmec: Which state sabotaged Lu?

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Now Green Monkeys are down, the Red Jaguars can catch up. Next question.

Olmec: What did Qi send to sabotage Lu?

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Whoa! Nice comeback. Just one more question for Orange Iguanas, but it?s still anyone?s game.

Olmec: Who were the horses and girls for?

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Yes! We got our 2 teams! It?s the Orange Iguanas, and the Purple Parrots. Come on over here, guys. The Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys gave it a great effort. They?re not going away empty-handed. Here?s what they get.

Announcer: Melody Pops (Description)

Kirk: These 2 teams will play for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple, and they?ll do it right after this!

(The camera pans to the scroll and the pendant logo crashes and the show fades to break)

(The show is back from break and the pendant logo splits and zooms out of the Jester?s Court to face the Pit of the Pendulum)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, let?s meet our team players.

Kirk: On the Orange Iguanas, we have Michelle who?s in her track team and loves painting, and her partner Leon is into tennis and wants to be a tennis player. Let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!

Kirk: And on the Purple Parrots, we have Tia who likes football and loves fishing with her family, and her partner Shane loves basketball and wants to be in the NFL. Let?s hear it for the Purple Parrots!

Kirk: Why don't you girls get ready for the first Temple Game and the girls for the second, and I?ll tell you what?s gonna happen here. In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win pendants of life. The winning team will need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the Temple. There are 3 temple games, and Olmec will tell us about the first one.

Olmec: Confucius wrote many scrolls in his time, and many of them disappeared. Your task is to find them for him. When Kirk gives the signal, crawl through the first tunnel, pop through the hole, and grab the scroll you find there. Then, crawl to the next hole. If the scroll you find matches the one you?re holding, bring them both back and drop it in your bin. Otherwise, exchange the one you have with the one you?ve found. The player to collect all 3 pairs of scrolls OR the player that collects the most scrolls in 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: Scrolls, scrolls and more scrolls. Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Michelle and Tia crawl through the first tunnel, and Michelle grabs a blue scroll while Tia grabs a purple scroll)

Kirk: They gotta find the right colours. (0:55)

(Michelle finds a red scroll, while Tia finds another purple scroll and dumps it in the bin)

Kirk: You must also remember where you place your scrolls. (0:49)

(Michelle finds a black scroll and picks up speed, while Tia finds the black scroll Michelle needs)

Kirk: It?s all about memory here. (0:42)

(Seconds later, Michelle still searches for a match, while Tia manages to find another white scroll)

Kirk: Purple?s leading, you might wanna hurry up, Orange. (0:29)

(Michelle manages to find another green scroll, but... (0:23))

Kirk: That?s it! We?re done! (Kirk walks up to the girls) Now let?s see, Orange got not one pair, and the one you drop doesn?t count. Purple has 1, 2, 3 scrolls! The Purple Parrots get a half pendant of life.

Kirk: Purple Parrots are jumping for joy, but Orange Iguanas can catch up in the next game, it?s worth a half pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: Confucius left the state of Li because of how bad the government is, but sometimes he comes back to sneak news to certain people. Your task is to help him get back to Li. When Kirk gives the signal, go onto the steps and continue your way across. If the step falls, you must go back and start again. The first player to get to the other side OR the player that's furthest along in 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: I thought he left home for good. Well, let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Leon and Shane start off nicely, but Shane falls on the 4th step while Leon blazes)

Kirk: Orange needs to catch up, Purple?s almost to the end. (0:50)

(Orange is at the last step when.... (0:47))

Kirk: That?s it! Let?s go check them out! (Kirk walks up to the players) Wow, Purple, you were blazing, getting there in 13 seconds! The Purple Parrots get the half pendant of life!

Kirk: So Purple has one pendant, Orange doesn?t have any, we go to our 3rd and final game, it?s worth a full pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: When Confucius was Justice Minister, he had to help the state of Li defend themselves from the soldiers of Qi, and you?re gonna help them! When Kirk gives the signal, pull your partner and push her towards one of the soldiers of Qi. The first team to knock down all their soldiers OR the team that knocks down the most soldiers after 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: The Chinese are invading, so let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Leon and Shane both push Michelle and Tia and both knock down their first soldier)

Kirk: Whoa! They got their first one down! (0:56)

(Leon is able to push Michelle to their 2nd soldier, and so does Shane and Tia)

Kirk: Oh, it?s coming down to the last soldier! (0:49)

(Leon and Shane makes one last push, and with a bit of kicking from Tia... (0:41))

Kirk: Stop! Let?s stop the clock, because we?re done! (Kirk goes to the Purple Parrots) Wow! You got all 3 soldiers in quick fashion, so the Purple Parrots get a full pendant, giving them 2 pendants while Orange have none, the Purple Parrots are going to the Temple!

Kirk: The Orange Iguanas gave a huge effort, they?re not going away empty-handed, here?s what they get.

Announcer: Hush Puppies Footwear (Description)

Kirk: These Purple Parrots were 1st in the Moat and Steps of Knowledge, and they?re gonna make it through Olmec?s Temple to see if they can retrieve the Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius, right after this! (Tia and Shane jump for joy)

(The camera pans to Moat and the pendant logo crashes and the show fades to break)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! The Purple Parrots have proven themselves worthy and have now earned the right to enter Olmec?s Temple, but before we get started, Olmec?s gonna give them some information to help them retrieve the Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius

Olmec: You could start by running up the stairs to the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Pit of the Pendulum. Knock over the column, and climb into the King's Storeroom! Smash the clay pots to find the key, that will lead you into the Chamber? of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right, to the rules on the left, and pass into the Rooom? of the Ancient Warriors! Place yourself in the correct armor, and open the door to the SHRINE of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Room? of the Secret Password. Find the tablet with the correct inscription, and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh's Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Quicksand Bog, where you could smash through to the Dark Forest? but beware the Temple Guards that may inhabit the treeeeees! Find the key in the tree and you'll enter? the Jester's Court! Press yourself against the correct wall painting, and you'll gain entry to the Tomb of the Headless Kiiiiiings! Pull the vines to release their bones, and attach the missing skull to its proper king! Then, race through the pit, CLIMB through the Ledges, rrrrrrace down the STAIRS and back through the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours ALONE! You won 2 pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first?

Shane: I am.

Olmec: Very well, Shane. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Last Teaching Scroll of Confuicus. Hidden inside the Temple are temple guards assigned to protect 3 specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple, and it will Tia?s turn to try her luck.

Olmec: If you can reach the Scroll, all the doors in the Temple will instantly unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return to the gates with the Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius in 3 minutes and you?ll both be handsomely rewarded, and here?s HOW!

Announcer: First, you?ll get a tennis package!
Announcer: Grab the Scroll in 3 minutes, and you?ll also receive this game table!
Announcer: If you can bring the Scroll out of the Temple before 3 minutes, you?ll both be going to the Bahamas!

Kirk: The Bahamas, hope you?ll get there. Alright, Shane, get into position. Lower you gate, Olmec.

(Olmec lowers the gate)

Kirk: Let?s put 3 minutes on the clock!

(The clock bangs down with 3 minutes)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

Shane runs up the stairs and enters the Ledges where immediately.... (2:53) ?Temple Guard, but he?s got a pendant.? He presses the lower crawl tube actuator and enters the Pit of the Pendulum. (2:47) He uses his hand to knock the column down, and the door to the King?s Storeroom and the Tomb of the Headless Kings open. (2:43) Shane enters the Tomb of the Headless Kings. (2:37) He starts pulling all the vines, but the last vine releases the skull. (2:27) ?He now has to look for that skull, where is it?? He finds it and tries the right king, but nothing. (2:23) He tries the left king, and the door to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers open. (2:20) But Shane tries to open the door to the Jester?s Court, then stands there looking confused. (2:17) ?You might wanna try going up!? And Shane goes up to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers. (2:06) He places the markers in the slots and the middle door slides open, revealing... (1:53)

?Another temple guard, it?s time for Tia!? She makes it to the Chamber (1:33), only to find the door to the Room of the Ancient Warriors locked. So she climbs up to the King?s Storeroom. (1:25) She smashes the first pot and finds the key. (1:23) ?First one, nice luck!? The second keyhole lowers the rock slab (1:19), and Tia enters the Room of the Ancient Warriors. (1:13) She tries the right armour, but nothing. (1:10) She tries the middle armour, but also nothing. (1:06) She tries the left armour and... (1:03) ?Oh, a temple guard, at least that?s all of them!? After being freed (0:57), Tia enters the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. (0:56) She grabs each piece and places it in the base one by one. (0:44) No doors open downwards, so she enters the Room of the Secret Password. (0:41) She shouts ?Long Live Olmec?, but no luck. (0:37) She shouts ?Klaatu Barada Nikkto!?, and the door to the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage opens. (0:31) ?Slide down the Pharaoh?s Secret Password! Hurry!? She?s in the Quicksand Bog (0:26), and busts through the wall into the Dark Forest (0:23) and... (0:21)

?She?s got the Scroll! Now get out!? She enters the Jester?s Court (0:17), through the Tomb of the Headless Kings (0:13), and into the Pit of the Pendulum. (0:07) She enters the lower crawl tube to the Ledges, but.... (Time?s up)

Kirk: ?Oh! She was so close to getting out with the Scroll. Oh, at least they get the tennis package and the game table. We gotta get outta here, so we?ll see you next time for another Legend of the Hidden Temple. Bye!

Temple Run Summary

The Last Teaching Scroll of Confucius

Name of Artifact

I have to say though these players blazed through the earlier rounds and are fast, only Tia is worthy of praise. Shane was beelining for the direct path, evident by the fact that he was going through the lower crawl tube in the Ledges and trying to open the door to the Jester's Court and becoming confused. Luckily, he had a good concept of each room, but was taken out with 1:53.

Tia tried to make up for lost time, but climbing up the central shaft was a hard thing to do. She was able to get the Scroll with 21 seconds on the clock, but wasn't fast enough to escape. This could have been a solo win if Shane didn't beeline the direct path.
