Temple Model
« on: June 23, 2014, 10:31:22 PM »
I hope this is the right board for this. It seems like it would be.

Over the next few weeks, I am going to be building a model of the Temple. I'll post images and progress notes here as the project takes shape. I don't know yet if I am going to base it off of a particular temple layout or if it will be sort of a conglomeration of various layouts/seasons. But it should be fun. I'm going to start building next week. Because this week is hellaciously busy for me and my band.

Interesting. And by building, are you gonna use a certain program for it, like some members have done in the past?

That explains it. There were some members here who built a virtual temple using the program "Little Big Planet." But I do like the idea of physically building a temple. For a minute there, I thought you meant "build a temple as big as the one on the show."

Tried this last summer, used a lot of boxes, too confusing.

Boxes could still work, even though I've never actually tried something like this before.

Boxes could still work, even though I've never actually tried something like this before.

I was originally planning to use boxes and Velcro so I could change the rooms just like on the show. However, each box had to have the same dimensions for the room space, so I ditched that idea. Then I tried to just make one layout and have it be S3. This was really hard to work, and in 3 months, I only made it to the Pit and then gave up because I didn't have much time at all.

Well, maybe Brent will have better luck with it. If he is indeed using boxes that is.

I am actually going to use a material called foamcore. If you google it, you'll see some AMAZING design work people have done with it. I'm no expert, but I do have some experience. Hopefully it turns out good!!  :mrpurple:  :mrpink:

I got bored during a Spring Break once. I was badly sick back in 2006 and I made one completely out of boxes, clothes hangers, and duct tape. I really hope you'll try again cause I would love to see what it would look like. Heck I might just try and make a new one as well.

I wonder if Brent ever got started on his model temple. It certainly would've been interesting to see.

Well if we haven't seen anything yet I doubt that the project will ever be revealed.
