Anyway, let's remove the Mummified Hand of the Egyptian Queen. Not only did you have the critical error the frontrunner made by dropping her pendant, but the second player, despite the large advantage he had compared to all other contestants in his position, made his own critical mistakes. He took a different path (which you should NEVER do unless it's shorter), and somehow missed a hidden half pendant. The combination of those three mistakes caused the team's demise; if any of those three were avoided, the team probably would not have ended the run on a third guard.
EDIT: I suppose, looking at the design of the temple again, that the second player probably should have taken the route he did, but still... he jeoparized his chances of finding the other half pendant by doing so.
