I've always wondered if the atrifact in the temple was in more danger by comparison than the risk of damage when the players removed it.

Such episodes in question include the Milkbucket of Freydis, the Mushpot Hat of Johnny Appleseed, and (my vote) the Mussel Shell Armor of Whatshisname.

I voted the Levitating Dog Leash of Nostradamus :D All of them were really good, well kinda questioning the Map to the Lost Gold Mine (John Sutter &), that was just so sketchy!

I went with the Levitating Dog Leash.  The second runner using the leash to pull the rope toward him is one of the smartest moves in the series.
