Hey guys! I can't believe it's been almost a month since I logged in here, but I'm back now!     

Unfortunately, this has been a pretty tough month for me. Not long after the new year, I was laid off from my job due to cost-cutting, and I haven't had any luck whatsoever in finding a new job. As such, I decided to take a short break from this place (and a few other sites I'm a part of) for a while to search for employment.

But on a more positive note: I remain optimistic about finding a new job. I have been diligently calling several places where I've put in applications, and I've been told by some folks that finding a job is a lot easier if you have prior experience.

Anyhow, now that that's out of the way, it's great to be back here, and I hope I never have to leave again anytime soon!

Welcome back! This place has been dead lately, and I guess I took a "break" myself. I've lost a lot of interest in posting here, and I'm sure everyone else has too. And good luck with the new job hunt.

Sorry to hear about your loss of your job. I know the pain of finding the right job. It took me two months to find the job where I am at right now. The hard part for me was that almost all the jobs I was interested in required prior experience. And your friends are right, having prior experience will help a lot! Good luck with your endeavors.

Just thought I'd use this old thread since it seems to be, well, convenient.

As you guys know, it's been a looong time since I've posted here. I thought I'd take a little break from this place and the other areas of the internet I inhabited to focus on my job-searching...but I had no idea how long that would take, nor what would go on in that time away. As such, I should catch you guys up...and there's definitely a lot to catch up on!

I have found another job, working in the biology labs of a small local veterinary clinic. It pays less than my chemical factory job, but as it turns out, I like it quite a bit better than my old job! However, that isn't the only thing that has happened in my life.

My new job was quite a long drive away from my house, so I worked on finding a place closer. I found a small apartment complex not far away from my workplace for fairly cheap, and though it was sad moving out of my parents' house (I still miss them and call them almost every day!), I am very excited to have my own place now.

Lastly, something wonderful happened in my sabbatical from this place. I became very close to one of the regular customers in the vet clinic. Her name is Melissa, and she's one year older than me, but I truly did feel something when we got to talking. I asked her out one day, and we had a wonderful time. I think she's a very wonderful person, and my parents do too. We are currently dating, and I couldn't be happier that love seems to have finally found me.  

I firmly believe that whenever one door closes, another opens. And I have truly been blessed and rewarded for my patience and perseverence, far more than I ever thought I would. Don't give up on your dreams, guys! They truly can come true!!!
