Artifact- The ivory onyx necklace of Dumisani
season: 1
Layout: Jungle Theme
Result- Reached Artifact
Team: Red Jaguars
Pendants won: 2
Location of artifact: Battlefield

This was the first episode to ever air for the The Darkest Flame. And i have to say it was an exciting one all the way to the end.

The only thing i really have to say is that if Roslyn didnt go into the swamp room they would of most probrably won with some time left since both contestants were pretty fast throughout the whole thing.

comments are welcome to it and ill make another one in a couple of days!

im trying to do that right now, i cant get the image to come up though lol, im going to do an overview of the run

"Olmec!" calls Kirk. "Max and Roslyn have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter your Temple. But before they go, can you give them information to help them retrieve the Ivory Necklace of Dumisani?"

Olmec begins, “You could start by running up the stairs to the Crypt. Grab the book from the skeletons and pass into the pit of dispair, where you can jump down or swing across the monkey bars to the king's storeroom. Smash the clay pots to find the key which will lead you into the Crocodiles mouth, where you must find three fish and put them in the crocodiles mouth and you may pass into the room of the ancient warriors. Place yourself in the correct armor to open the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward Room of the Secret Password. Find the tablet with the correct inscription, and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh’s Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Battlefield where you can grab the necklace, then load the cannon with a cannon ball and launch it at the wall, where you can enter the Dark Forest. Find the key in the tree, but beware of the temple spirit that might inhabit the trees. If you find the key you may enter the swamp, if you escape you may enter the throne of the pretender, where you sit on the thrown. Once through go back through the pit of dispair through the Cave of sighs and back through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. (He pauses) "You won two pendants in the temple game, whos going first?"

"I am," said an overexcited Roslyn
"Very well, Roslyn," replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "Good luck to both of you."

Once Olmec finished, Kirk explains "When I say 'go,' you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way toward the Ivory Necklace. But be careful though— the temple contains many locked doors and dead ends. Also beware, because there are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. If you enter one of those rooms, the Temple Guard will jump out and grab you. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple— and it'll be Max's turn to enter and try his luck. “If you can reach the Necklace, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the Ivory Necklace in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded— and here's how!"

· No matter what happens, Max and Roslyn will each receive a Bollinger-brand trampoline.
 · If the team reach the Necklace before time's up, they’ll each win a $1,000 Toys ‘R’ Us gift card.
 · If they can get the necklace out of the temple before their three minutes run out, they'll get the grand prize— a pair of three-day vacations for four in the Bahamas, for a prize package totaling $12,576!
"Sounds great, so let's see if we can get them to the Bahamas!" Kirk says, excited. "Please lower your gate, Olmec, while Max amd Roslyn put their mouth pieces in.

When Kirk says "go." Roslyn races towards the cave of sighs and was able to open the first actuator door that was available to her. She then crawed through the tunnel and jumped down into the pit of dispair. From there she goes to the thrown of the pretender and has no problem figuring out what to do (2:45). When she sat of the thrown both doors open she decided to take the swamp. Once crawling through she didnt take a step into the swamp before a TEMPLE GUARD! So she gives up here pendant and goes over to the actuator leading to the Dark forest. When she hit the actuator it did not open (2:15). So she turned back and went back into the thrown room and went up into the Crocodile's Mouth where she found two out of the three and couldnt find the last one until ten seconds after the 2 minute mark. When she put the last fish in the door opened into the next room and she tried the camera middle one which opened the door but a TEMPLE GUARD was also there. So when Max knew she was done he was already half way in the cave of sighs when Kirk said go (1:30). Once Max was in the sighs, he followed Roslyn's way up to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey where he met the last TEMPLE GUARD (1:00). From there he took all three of the pieces down and put the pieces together flawlessly (40 seconds). He then went into the room of the secret password and took his mouthpiece out and said "long live Olmec!" it works. So he slides down the pharoes passage and grabs the necklace. As he does this Kirk says "He has the necklace!" In the meantime Max loads the cannon and fires which he then rushes into the dark forest (5 seconds). Then time is up as he got close to the door to the swamp.

As it ends Kirk says "Ahh, they got the necklace but couldnt get out in time. But they still got two prizes." As he continues, "We had a great time here today and I hope you did too. Join us next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple!"

“Now,” says Kirk, “the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let’s meet our team players. On the Red Jaguars, we have Roslyn. How old are you Roslyn?
"Thirteen," says the girl as Kirk holds up the microphone up to her mouth.
"And your partners' name is Max. How old are you Max?
"Twelve," says the boy standing next to Roslyn.
"Lets hear it for the Red Jaguars!" yells Kirk.
"Now we cant forget about the Green Monkeys, over here we have Tia." says Kirk
"How old are you Tia?" asks Kirk
"Eleven" replies the girl
"And your partner is Ted, How old are you?" replies Kirk
"Twelve," replies the boy confidently.
"Now lets hear it for the Green Monkeys!" yells Kirk again.

“Why don’t you girls get ready for the first Temple Game, and the guys go over there for the second. Now,” he says, facing the camera, “let me tell you what’s going to happen here. In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life. The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards when they go into Olmec’s Temple. There are three Temple Games, and Olmec… tell us about Temple Game #1.”

Olmec begins:
"Dumisani had to disarm many soldiers in the war against the explorers in England, you will be doing the same. Both players start out with a boulder on each side of the playing field. When Kirk gives the signal you will roll the boulder towards the oppenents soldiers on the otherside of the field. But be carefull if you cross the line the point will not count towards the total amount. The first one to disarm all the soldiers or the one farthest along in 60 seconds wins."

As Olmec finishes Kirk says, "This means war, lets put 60 seconds on the clock!" As they did this Kirk then says "Ready, Set, Go!"

Both players rush forward to roll the first boulder, but Roslyn gets to it before Tia. She sends it toward the marker furthest to the left, when Tia tried to block it but missed so Roslyn gets a point for knocking it down. As Roslyn is on the other side of the field Tia sends a boulder to the far right but as she pushed it she stepped over the line. Still keeping the score the same. After that Roslyn knocks down one more and Tia knocks down 2 before the lights flash ending the game.

“Okay, let’s see how the teams did!” Kirk says, running into the center of the battlefield as the spotters around it stop the boulders. " The Red Jaguars knocked down two and so did the Green Monkeys! Both get the Half Pendant of Life!" The audience applauds again, then Kirk continues. " Lets go to the second temple game, Olmec please tell us about temple game number 2."

As Kirk runs over to the next game Olmec explains: " When in the Army the soldiers would have to be in perfect shape to fight in wars. In this game there are two spining platforms, each contestant will start turning the platforms as fast as they can. Once doing that they need to stay on as long as possible, if you fall off then get back on. The player with the most rotations in the 60 seconds wins.

As Olmec finishes, Kirk says "Alright boys get on the platform. Ready, Set, Go!"

Both boys start turning the platform at the same pace and eventually Max started picking up speed to get ahead of Ted by at least one rotation. When Ted try to pick up speed he ended up falling off of the platform and was slow to get back up. After that everything was the same until the lights flashed indicating the end of the game.

As it ended Kirk says "Alright lets see what the teams did this time, the Red Jaguars had 15 rotations and the Green Monkeys only had 11."
"The Red Jaguars get the Half Pendant of Life! Lets go to our last game!"

As Kirk gets there he says "Alright Olmec tell us about the last temple game."

Olmec explains: " Not only did the soldiers have to be in good shape running wise. They also had to know how to ride horses also, in this game each team member will be on the same horse as the other partner. The team that stays on the longest or the one with the most team members on wins."

Once Olmec was finished, Kirk says, "This is for the Temple!" as he informs the crowd, then he says "Ready, Set, Go!"

On the word "go" the spotters in the middle of both sides started to shake and role the "horses" on both sides of them. As time went by (around 15 seconds) Tia fell off of the horse. When this happened Kirk in the play-by-play "Ohh, one of the Green Monkeys is out can Ted hold on until the end?" It stayed the same for about thirty seconds until there was 15 seconds left. At that time Ted finally fell off of the horse. Kirk shouts "It's over! Both players of the Green Monkeys couldnt stay on so that means the Red Jaguars have 2 full pendants and the Green Monkeys only have a half, so the Red Jaguars are going to the temple!" Kirk paused so that crowed could give an applause.

Once done with the applause, Kirk then says "The Green Monkeys did a great job, they are not going away empty handed and heres what they get!"

Both Ted and Tia both get a $100 savings bond from nestle

Okay i know this is a noob question lol, but how do you make a thread?  :?

The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Ivory necklace of Dumisani. Pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple." As he steps down the stairs to the bottom.

Olmec begins to tell the story:
" One of the most feared warriors in South Africas history is Dumisani. He defended his country against the explorers from England who were looking for diamonds in the mountains in South Africa. As Dumisani came about to where the explorers were he meet with the leader and said "You do not belong here, leave now or we will wage war with you to drive you off our land!" The explorers were not afraid and decided to wage war with Dumisani. As the war started Dumisani was pushed back until he was almost defeated. But he rallied his men and played a gorilla type warfare in the jungles. In a battle with the leader of the explorers where it ended in a draw and ended the war. So as a peace offering with Dumisani was offered an ivory necklace with onyx inside of it. Eventually Dumisani died in another war against a different african nation. And the necklace eventually made its way to the temple. Your quest is to find the Ivory Necklace of Dumisani and bring it back here!"

"Thanks Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the story. "So tell us where is the Ivory Necklace of Dumisani at?"
Olmec replies:
"The necklace can be found in the Battlefield"

"Teams," Kirk begins "you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're first, your step will light up, and you'll have three seconds to answer. If you're right, you can move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, one of the other teams will get a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Okay Olmec, we're now ready for your first question."
Olmec begins:
"Dumisani was from what country: Egypt, Nigeria or --"
The boy on the Red Jaguars stomps down and says "South Africa"
“Correct,” replies Olmec. So the Red Jaguars go down a step.
"Next Question," says Kirk
"Which of these did Dumisani threaten to do if the explorers did not leave: Slavery, --'
The girl from the Green Monkeys hit stomps down and says "war...?'
"Correct," says olmec. "Step Down," says Kirk.
"According to the legend what type of warfare did Dumisani use: --
The orange iguanas boys steps down and says "monkey!"
Olmec replies: "That is not one of our three answers,"
Then the Red Jaguars girl steps down and says "Gorilla"
Olmec replies "correct,"
Kirk then informs the audience and them saying "One more correct answer and you will be going to the temple games."
"What where the england explorers looking for in the mountains: D--"
The girl in the red jaguars says "Diamonds!"
"Correct!" yells Olmec
So the jaguars moved down to the last step, Kirk says "here is our first team!"
"How did the necklace end up going to the temple: He di--"
The boy on the green monkeys says "He died!"
Olmec replies "Correct!"
"One more question and the Green Monkeys are going to the temple game!" Informs Kirk
"What is the stone in the middle of the necklace? Is it: Pearl, Onyx or Sapphire"
The girl on the Silver snakes rings in and says "Pearl..?"
"That is incorrect!" says Olmec
So the girl on the Green Monkeys hits their marker and says "Onyx!"
"That is correct!" yells Olmec
As he said it Kirk says "There you have it we have our two teams: The Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys!"
As Kirk continues "It was a tough match for the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes but they will not go home empty handed and here is what they are getting!"
Both teams recieve copies of I Am Number 4 on DVD

(note) Srry about making to story a little hard to read not exactly the best writer, If someone wants to pitch in and write the story behind each legend, i would be very happy and grateful for it, ill even put their name in the credits

EPISODE 1: The Ivory Onyx Necklace of Dumisani

The camera pans through a dense forest and stops in front of an ancient dark temple. The flames light up the base of the temple where a stone head breaks the silence:

"Legends of the Hidden Temple! With your guide Kirk Fogg!
Kirk climbs out of the pit of dispair. "Thank you! Thank you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple! The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by the mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. So tell us, Olmec... what legend are we hearing about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The legend of The Ivory Onyx Necklace of Dumisani!"

"So the legend is set," as Kirk replies, "that one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Ivory Onyx Necklace. Will it be:
"The Red Jaguars--" the camera goes to each cheering team at a time "the Blue Barracudas-- the Green Monkeys-- the Orange Iguanas-- the Purple Parrots or the Silver Snakes?"
"These teams'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple. First, they must cross the moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today:
Olmec replies: "In front of you hangs three ropes hang above the moat. One player from each team will grab the rope and swing to the next one and make their way across the moat. If a player falls in the water they have to go back and start over. Once across that signals the second player to start across the moat. When both players cross the moat it is the second players job to go over and hit their teams gong." -As Kirk hits the Red Jaguars gong as an example "The first four teams to hit their gong goes on to the next round!"

As Olmec finishes, Kirk asks "Teams are you ready?" The players cheer in response to the question.
Then Kirk turns and asks Olmec: "They're ready-- Are you ready, Olmec?"
Olmec replies "Lets do this!"
"Okay teams," Kirk Says "On your mark, get set, GO!"

The teams start off very quickley being able to swing over to the second rope with out any problems. They are are more or less at the same pace until both girls from the Bule Barracudas and the Purple parrots fall off trying to make it to the third rope too quickly. Kirk says "Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots start over you still have time to make it!" Kirk continuses the play-by-play " The Red Jaguars are just barely ahead of the green monkeys, and here come the orange iguanas!" The first one to get both team members across are the Orange Iguanas. As Kirk says "The orange iguanas ring in, then the Red Jaguars and the Green Monkeys!" As he says that the boy from the Silver Snake slips and falls into the moat. As the Kirk continues the play-by-play " We are still looking for one more team!" As he said this the Silver Snake boy runs over and hits his teams gong to get the last spot. The camera then pans to Kirk standing by the Silver Snakes and Kirk says " The teams that are going onto the steps of knowledge are the Orange Iguanas--" As the camera pans to each team in order of qualifying "the Red Jaguars-- the Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes!" Kirk then pauses for the applause. "Tough Moat for the Blue Barracudas and the Purple Parrots," as Kirk goes on "but they will not be going home empty handed, here is what they get!" The Blue Barracudas and the Purple Parrots both get a 50$ gift card to Walmart.
