Soundstage 18 / Slimed!: An Oral History of Nickelodeon's Golden Age
« on: August 31, 2013, 07:08:13 PM »
So there's a book coming out that's tells an oral history of Nick i the 90s. I found this out through Trevor Eyster's Facebook page (Sponge from Salute Your Shorts fame) and there's a pic from the book's Facebook page of Kirk Fogg, Phil Moore, and Marc Summers together just recently. Plus, the book is about 15 dollars on Amazon, so yeah.

That looks like the real deal

Well that isn't me, this guy named Adam Nedeff apparently has a friend who closely on the show and has this in his/her office.

When you realize you found The Shrine of the Silver Monkey many years later:

As for the video game picture, that isn't real apparently, it's just a mock up of what Nick game shows would look like if they were a video game.

I think you guys should check this out:

It's not all Legends, but it features it. Didn't know where to place this though.

I bought Portal 2 when it had a huge discount and beat it the day after. The co-op mode keeps it worthwhile to keep playing, but other than that I've been enjoying a ton of games:

And when you thought they made a video game, you told your friends you've beaten only once out of a 120 times.

When you get so excited about Legends again you post a ton of stuff that you found, but you realize that it's been posted on this forum.

The Pit / Re: Legends Interview Collection

I found a new interview from Keeli who appeared on the "Stone Marker of Leif Erikson" talks about her experience and I realize that it might have been a much more darker kids show than it appears.

It seems like Nick TV practices were much more lenient and free than today. And hearing that Marc Summers did some crazy shit during his time, just like Legends as a whole.

Awesome, I can't believe you actually had a Legends theme cake. :o  That whole cake looks delicious. :o What kind of icing was used for the GreenMonkeys#1 part? :?:
Now you will get locked in the Treasure Room with all of the bad contestants while being surrounded by Keys to some Spanish place, Golden Cricket Cages, Bifocal Monocles, Snow Cones, Lost Hammers, Dried Apple Halves, Cracked Crowns, Silver Cannonball, Blackbeard's Maps, & Lost Lion Tails; because that was just to block out my name ;). Here's Your Sign :P
I will just climb down the Treasure Chest like the best solo male player did and escape from all that crappiness. :P
*made sure all doors are locked*
*throws all of that into one giant black hole and sends it to GM1's bedroom*
*Packs anything that comes out of Black Hole, and plans to send it to Goodwill in the morning*

*walks to bedroom* What's all this stuff doing here?

Oh well, tomorrow I'm dropping it off at Goodwill! *plays Thrift Shop really loud so that TRJ can hear it through the black hole ;)*

Oh hey, you got the Velcro!

It's been so long since I posted something here, but I got some good news: I just signed up to try out for a game show. It's called The Chase and they're holding auditions at San Francisco. I'm hoping to hear back soon.

I saw ads for that on GSN. You'll have to be really smart if you can beat the beast ;)

Yeah, but apparently his weak subjects are soaps and certain pop culture. But maybe there are some American topics that he may not know, so it may be an advantage, I don't know exactly. I have seen a ton of episodes of Youtube and the majority of them are won by the Chasers though. Hoping to gt picked though.  :)

So yeah, as PPF mentioned, I tried to get a podcast going in 2010, but I felt very insecure about my voice, how it had to be organized, what sort of content would we be talking about, etc. We even had a couple of preview videos that we made for the show, but it fell through.

I really wanted something to happen, but I guess it was better than just doing nothing about it. I would like to try it one more time to see what happens and just have a flowing conversation about whatever it is. I think I can do it again if anyone is interested, although my knowledge is pretty rusty.

Other than that, there was a flurry of activity when I joined in 2009. It was the summer days and winter breaks when I was the most active. I got to know some of the people on the forum and its nice to know these people are actual, decent people who have/had a passion for Legends at that time. It's been a small-knit community when I joined, but unfortunately I don't frequent the place much due to having other stuff needing to be done in real life, but I am starting to have interests in watching Legends again.

But yeah, I didn't know Aaron was banned from this forum. There seems to be a lot of other crazy/exciting stuff that has happened that I didn't know, but I kinda miss the arcade, but it was really buggy though.

Oh yeah, I tend to lurk here late at nights and you guys gave me a nickname because of that, I forgot what the name was.
