My answer: American Gladiators ftw. -_- it's the topic of choice every Tuesday in Latin and I can see why

The Heart Room / The Secret Battle Plans of Nathan Hale--- Big Mistake???
« on: November 10, 2007, 10:53:11 AM »
OK, after watching it again today, I noticed something in the second game (where they had to climb the net and get the letters and spell "ATTACK PHILADELPHIA"). Green Monkeys had 4 correct pieces, and Silver Snakes only had 3, so Green Monkeys won. However, the fourth piece for the Silver Snakes WAS correct, but upside-down. I do not recall if the letters being in the right position was a rule, but if it wasn't mentioned, then Silver Snakes should've also received a Half Pendant in the second Temple Game, making them go to the Temple with 2 Pendants, making the outcome of the Temple Run very different.

Anybody else have thoughts on that?

The Pit / Anniversary
« on: September 01, 2007, 02:56:25 PM »
One year ago, around this time, I decided that I wanted to start recording Legends. And now that Nick GaS is going off air in 2008, I do not regret this decision at all. And now, on September 1, 2007, I have been recording episodes for a year. The Belly Button of Buddha, airing now, is my 117, so I just need 3 more, which is pretty sad, since I could've gotten the other 3, but I just didn't feel like recording at the time. But by October 31, 2007, I will have a full set of 120 episodes. I just wanted to make a thread, since it was around this time I started to record & it's special for me :)

The Jesters' Court / Mafia (Sign-Ups)
« on: June 25, 2007, 07:30:20 PM »
Since we TOTALLY need a Mafia game in here!

Rules...

Mafia is a strategic game, & the contestants are divided into two groups (Mafia & Townspeople). If you are part of the Mafia, your goal is to have the same (or more) people than the townspeople. I fyou are part of the Townspeople, you have to eliminate all of the Mafia.
---
Mafia takes place in two phases, night & day. During the night, Mafia will kill one Townsperson. The special Townspeople (explained later) will also do special duties. Then, during the day, the results will be revealed as to who was killed. Then, everyone will deliberate, then everyone will PM me their vote on to who they will have ousted.
---
There are five types of special Townspeople (Sheriff, Doctor, Cat, Cupid, Terrorist).
-Sheriff: Every night, the Sheriff will PM me the name of one Townsperson. Then, I will PM them back, telling them if they are in the Mafia or not. This will be vital information when it comes to deliberation.
-Doctor: Every night, the Doctor will PM me the person they want to save. If they save the same person that the Mafia chose to kill, then no kill will happen. The Doctor is allowed to save themselves!
-Cat: The Cat has no special duties, but they have 2 lives.
-Cupid: On the first night, Cupid will PM me two people to become "Lovers". Throughout the rest of the game, if one Lover dies, the other will commit suicide & be removed from the game.
-Terrorist: If the Terrorist is subject of Mafia, Sheriff, Doctor, or Cupid on any given night, they will receive a PM from me, telling them that they are a person of interest to a group/person. Then, the Terrorist has the choice of killing them or not. So the Terrorist can end of killing a Mafia member, or the local Sheriff on their side. They will never know who is interested in them, so they will have to guess.

This game will need 12-15 people.

12-13 people=3 Mafia, 1 Doctor, 1 Sheriff, 1 Cat, 1 Cupid, 1 Terrorist
14-15 people=3 Mafia, 1 Doctor, 1 Sheriff, 2 Cats, 1 Cupid, 1 Terrorist

I'll be God (the Narrator & host), so you guys can start to sign up!

Episode 2: Eris?s Apple of Discord

*the camera zooms in on an ancient lush jungle, the palms are moving away as an elephant is heard*

*all the palms are gone, showing Olmec*

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple. With your guide? Kirk Fogg!

*Kirk is shown slidding down a zipline & jumping off into the usual area*

Kirk: Thank you everyone. Thank you Olmec. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are The rooms are filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: Eris?s Apple of Discord

Kirk: Eris?s Apple of Discord!

*Kirk sneaks in a ?Stone Head of the Evil King? face*

Kirk: Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Parchment. Will it be *camera zooms into each team as they cheer & the usual* The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they?ll have to do it today.

Olmec: Each team has an oversized Indian turban in the water. On go, when both players wrap around the turban, it will slowly start to move across the Moat. If you fall, both you & your partner will have to go back to the start & get on the turban again. The first for teams to get across & ring the gong will move onto the next round.

Kirk: Alright, teams are you ready?!

*the teams cheer*

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?!

Olmec: Let?s rock!

Kirk: On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*each team steps on the turban, but the Red Jaguars capsize right away*

*the other five teams start to spin along the track, but on a sharp spin, Purple Parrots & Silver Snakes fall off*

*Blue Barracudas, Green Monkeys, & Orange Iguanas all get across & ring the gongs at the same time*

*all the other teams can?t get past the halfway mark before falling*

*finally, Silver Snakes get across & ring the gong (the fog is completely gone long before this point)*

Kirk: Wow, I?m sure that was harder than expected! The Silver Snakes made their way through the Moat, & will be going to the Steps of Knowledge! Along with the Orange Iguanas! The Green Monkeys! & the Blue Barracudas! Red Jaguars & Purple Parrots made a great effort, & won?t be going away empty handed. Olmec, tell them their prize.

*Olmec explains the prize*

*scene changes to a dry set of four teams on the top of the Steps of Knowledge*

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about Eris?s Apple of Discord. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: In Greek mythology, the goddess of strife & discord was Eris, with her most famous tale being involved in the Trojan War. All of the gods and goddesses in Olympus, including Hera, Athena, & Aphrodite, have been invited to celebrate the forced wedding of Peleus & Thetis, who would later become the parents of Achilles. Eris, however, was the only one not invited.

Eris: Those gods & goddesses think they?re too good for me. *disgust* Well fine! I?ll just have to mess with their heads a little.

Olmec: And with that, she found a Golden Apple of Discord & tossed it into the party. The apple was inscribed with the word ?Kallisti?, which means ?to the fairest?. Knowing that most of the goddesses think they?re the fairest, she purposely threw the apple in the party to provoke them to quarrel about who is the fairest. When Zeus found this out, he brought the goddesses over to Paris, prince of Troy, to decide who was the fairest. Hera offered Paris political power, Athena promised Paris skills in battle, & Aphrodite tempted Paris with the heart of the most beautiful woman, Helen of Troy. Paris chose Aphrodite, therefore dooming his own city. Aphrodite kept Eris?s Apple of Discord, but now it has made its way to the Temple! Your goal is to find Eris?s Apple of Discord, & bring it back here!

Kirk: Olmec, tell us where the Apple is.

Olmec: Eris?s Apple of Discord could be found in the The Arachnid?s Territory!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

*Green Monkeys hit the step*

Kirk: OK, Green Monkeys, since you rang in first, you would be able to answer. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level *Kirk runs down there* will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for the first question.

Olmec: Was Eris a goddess in: Norse mythology, Chinese mythology, or Greek mytho-

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Recanted Parchment of Archbishop Cranmer. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: After Edward VI died in 1553, one of the most notorious and vicious rulers came as the heir of the throne, Mary I, known today as Bloody Mary. Mary was a strong Catholic, and burned approximately 300 Protestants at the stake. One of the most infamous being Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer.

Mary I: Archbishop Cranmer, as Queen of England, I hereby command you to convert from Protestantism to Catholicism.

Cranmer: NEVER!

Olmec: For these actions, Cranmer was brought to a trial, where he wrote down a recant and announced it publicly.

Mary: Archbishop, this recant is sweet, but not even God will forgive you for misleading his souls prior to this! Guards, let him be burned at the stake!!!

Olmec: Cranmer, in disgust, made one last bold move before he was about to die. He dipped his right hand into the fire, and cried?

Cranmer: This hand signed the paper when I recanted. So this should be the first to suffer!?

Olmec: And with that, Archbishop Cranmer died. The recanted parchment mysteriously made it?s way to the Temple! Your quest is to retrieve The Recanted Parchment of Archbishop Cranmer & bring it back here!

Kirk: Thank you Olmec, but can you tell us where The Recanted Parchment of Archbishop Cranmer is?

Olmec: The Recanted Parchment of Archbishop Cranmer could be found in The Room of the Mandarin Hand!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Blue Barracudas move down one step*

Kirk: One more correct answer & The Blue Barracudas will move onto the Temple Games.

Kirk: Nice job, Blue Barracudas. You will be moving on to the Temple Games. Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys, & Purple Parrots still have a chance!
