It's about time I start writing more episodes again, and this time, it's "The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor."

THE LUCKY PILLOW OF ANNIE TAYLOR
MOAT: 7/10
MOAT: 7/10 (TRJ)
For this moat, the players had to shimmy upside down on a poll. It was a decent round, albeit a tad long. The thing that drags it down for me though, is the Silver Snakes. They couldn't even get one person across the moat before all four teams had gonged in. The Silver Snake girl was beyond pathetic and continuously fell into the water the whole moat crossing.

The six teams had to cross this moat by having each player shimmying across an "ancient fallen rod". When Kirk gives the signal, the first player had to shimmy across the rod while hanging upside-down. When they cross safely, then the second player had to cross the same way. Once both players reach the other side safely, then they can hit their gongs to move onto the next round. The first four players that make it the other side will safely will win. This moat was a pretty tough challenge for the teams as it relied on upper body strength to get across. This moat did take a little extra time to finish too. The Orange Iguanas and Blue Barracudas crossed with no problem, but the Red Jaguars and Purple Parrots struggled. Despite the lengthy moat, I enjoyed the unique challenge that it had to offer. And honestly, all of the moats during this day was long too. Just look at the Atocha and Emiliano Zapata moat!
LEGEND: 9/10
LEGEND: 10/10 (TRJ)
This legend was about Annie Taylor, and her journey across the Niagara Falls in a barrel. She strapped herself in the barrel and rested her head on a lucky heart shaped pillow for good luck. Sure enough, her journey all the way to the bottom of the falls had her come out unscathed. Annie Taylor cited her lucky pillow for her successful journey, and even received a plaque for it. However, her lucky pillow was soon forgotten, and eventually made its way to the temple. This in my opinion, was an excellent legend. The whole story itself was a very interesting listen. I mean, traveling down Niagara Falls in a barrel? That takes some guts.

One of the greatest daredevils of all time was Annie Taylor. When she turned 50 she decided that she would be the first person to go over Niagara Falls inside a barrel. She had a carriage maker build her a barrel with a harness to hold her in place. The county coroner thought that Annie had gone mad when he heard of her plans and insisted that she should not do it. But Annie did not listen to him. With the crowd watching, Annie put herself inside the barrel, strapped herself in, and put a heart-shaped red satin pillow behind her head. Annie drifted in the water and went over the waterfall while her barrel remained intact and came out injury-free! When a reporter asked how Annie did it, she gave all her credit to her Lucky Pillow. The town put up a plaque in her honor, but the Lucky Pillow was soon forgotten about. The Lucky Pillow eventually made its way to Olmec's Temple.
I enjoyed this legend and it remains as one of my favorite legends on the show. Annie Taylor was an interesting historical figure to cover because you don't hear much about her. The legend did a great job staying true to the real Annie Taylor story and didn't have any silly characters or lines in it. Furthermore, the Lucky Pillow was a very beautiful artifact and much better than most that were featured on the show.
STEPS OF KNOWLEDGE: 8/10
STEPS OF KNOWLEDGE: 8/10 (TRJ)
This was a solid round. There was only one wrong answer given, but the rest of the questions were correct. John and Missy were both extremely intelligent during the steps and were down to the final step in a heartbeat. Stuart and Jamea of the Purple Parrots eventually joined them on the final step. Both teams were very enthusiastic and you can totally tell they were excited to be advancing to the temple games.

For the most part, this round was pretty good. All of the questions asked by Olmec surrounded the legend for the most part. The Blue Barracudas got all of their questions correct and made it to the bottom first. The Purple Parrots soon joined them and Stuart even got one correct without Olmec revealing any answers. There was one wrong answer from the Orange Iguanas, but it was a tough question anyways and was not mentioned in the legend. I would've liked to see a little more competition too in this round. Overall, it was still an enjoyable round to watch.
TEMPLE GAMES: 8/10
TEMPLE GAMES: 9/10 (TRJ)
The temple games featured great competition and great comebacks throughout. In the first game, John and Jamea had to climb up Niagara Falls by climbing the walls and make hand and foot holes along the way. As soon as they got to the top, they had to grab the handle and ride the waterfall back down. John kind of struggled in this game, so that gave Jamea an advantage and helped her win the game for the Purple Parrots. In the second game, Missy and Stuart had to plug a leak that sprang in one of the five holes. Poor Missy just kept on getting squirted.

But she did score at least once. Stuart scored five times, so he earned another half pendant for his team, making the temple game score 1-0 at that point. In the third game, the teams had to paddle on a boat, through the rapids, then grab a lifesaver and make it back to safety. This is where the Blue Barracudas came from behind and won the game, just barely edging out the Purple Parrots. With the final pendant score being 1-1, it was tiebreaker time. John correctly guessed that the "St. Lawrence River" is what emptied into the Great Lakes and earned a trip to the temple! All with a priceless boob grab too!

The temple games featured
John and
Missy of the
Blue Barracudas facing off against
Jamea and
Stuart of the
Purple Parrots. In the first temple game, Jamea and John had to climb up the cliffs of Niagara Falls by pushing in the holes of the cliff to create a path up to the top. Once they reached the top, they had to ride the waterfall back down. The first player to ride the waterfall after 60 seconds will win. Both John and Jamea struggled in this temple game to find the right holes in the wall to climb to the top. John was having even more trouble finding the right foot holes to reach the top. Despite neither player reaching the hanger at the top, Jamea was ruled the winner because she was further along than her opponent. In the second temple game, Stuart and Missy had to place plugs inside the holes to prevent Annie's barrel from leaking. If they were correct, then they will not be squirted with water and rewarded a point. The entire game was a luck-based game and every hole the two players tried using was just a complete guess. In the end, Stuart got more correct guesses than Missy and earns the Purple Parrots another half-pendant. With a score of 1-0, the Parrots enter the final temple games while leading! In the team game, both players were inside a boat and had to use their oars to retrieve a lifeboat from the other side and bring it back to the dock. While inside the boat, neither player can put their feet on the ground or else they will have to start over. The first player that brings their lifeboat back to the dock after 60 seconds will win. This temple game came down to the wire, but the Blue Barracudas made an incredible comeback and edge out the Purple Parrots! Due to the final 1-1 score, the teams are forced into a tiebreaker!
After their amazing comeback in the team game, the Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots ready themselves for the tiebreaker question. The tiebreaker question was "Does the Great Lakes empty into the - Mississippi River, St. Lawrence River, or Delaware River?" John of the Barracudas answers "St. Lawrence River". After a slightly delay from Olmec, he confirms the answer as being correct and Missy and John enter the rights to enter Olmec's temple! As John and Missy are celebrating, you can totally see John groping Missy's breasts.

Overall, this was a very memorable and exciting temple games round. The comeback in the team game and the "tiebreaker touch" makes this a round that you can forget. Plus, Missy almost being in tears after winning the tiebreaker makes this round more enjoyable to watch.

TEMPLE RUN: 10/10
TEMPLE RUN: 10/10 (TRJ)
If there was an award for "best temple run ever," it would go to this episode. Seriously, this run was just flawless. Missy was such a nervous wreck all day long, and it was such a joy to see her win. Besides trying the door to Medusa's Lair, (which is NOT a reason to hate her), she knew what to do in every room and didn't get turned around once. She also very smartly took the Forest/Shrine passage, and assembled the monkey with no problem. She eventually made it to Medusa's Lair and grabbed the Lucky Pillow with 42 seconds remaining! It was here the audience just went wild. Kirk even went wild, and John was cheering Missy on as she made her way back to the temple gates. She escaped with 21 seconds to spare, making her the first victor to successfully retrieve an artifact from the center of the room. Missy was a wonderful player. This was an amazing temple run and she totally deserved to win.

Can you go wrong with this episode? I think not!

If there was ever an award for the "most magical temple win" on the show, it has to be Missy's win. Missy was a very nervous player before entering the temple. She was so nervous and excited that she was in tears before the run even started! The temple run itself was a solid effort by Missy too! After choosing to go first, Missy starts by entering the Ledges where she is temple guard free and enters the Pit of Despair with no problem. After the Pit, she tries climbing the wall in order to try Medusa's Lair where the Lucky Pillow was hidden, but has no luck with the door. The bottom door was the only one open, so she then heads to the bottom floor of the temple. In the Throne Room, Missy meets a temple guard that scares her before she gains entry to the Swamp. In the Dark Forest, Missy cleverly used the Shrine shortcut which grants her access to the top floor. In the Shrine, she has a little trouble assembling the Silver Monkey. She even drops it on the floor and you can see pieces of it falling off.

After completing the Silver Monkey, time starts to wind down and the crowd is starting to go crazy! We finally hear Kirk's normal voice again too and Missy finally enters Medusa's Lair and grabs the Lucky Pillow. Now everyone is going wild including John and Kirk, and Missy escapes to the temple gates to score the very first center of the temple win!

At the end of the run, Missy was in tears and John and Kirk were ecstatic! John even gives Missy another celebratory boob grope.

Overall, this was one of the best temple runs on the show. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most criticized temple runs also. People like to over-analyze Missy's performance and try to criticize for every little mistake she made. Truth be told, not every temple run has to feature a player like Gator or Zac. Missy's performance was perfectly fine. Plus, the emotional factor and the enthusiasm from the crown and everyone else made this run extra special. Missy's emotions also added to the memorableness of this run. This run is truly an enjoyable and inspirational experience!

FINAL VERDICT: 8.4/10
FINAL VERDICT: 8.8/10 (TRJ)
This is by far the best episode and best temple run in the show's history. While this doesn't overthrow Apanuugpak as the highest rated episode ever, it's still pretty high up there. Every round was solid throughout and the temple run was near flawless. This is why I don't understand the hate that Missy gets. Just because she wasn't Gator fast, and just because their layout wasn't hard, doesn't make her a terrible player. You can't say she didn't deserve to win just because she wasn't fast and "took a direct path." She didn't luck into this, this wasn't rigged just to make her look good. No, she earned it and she deserved to win. It makes no sense to call Missy a "bad and undeserved" contestant just because she wasn't fast, yet Paula lucks into her layout and had no objectives, but she gets nothing but praise. In what way is Paula a better player than Missy? Just because "she was so fast" and "her partner was fast crossing the moat" boom, it's suddenly a better win than Lucky Pillow. And
we're hypocritical? I don't understand how anyone can hate this win. You must not have seen a bunch of wins to call this boring and predictable just because she's not fast. Even if she had this path in a Season 3 temple, she still would've won with 21 seconds left and it would STILL be as impressive as it ever was. This episode was phenomenal the whole way out, and I definitely recommend watching this episode.

"Lucky Pillow" is one of the best episodes on the show and is very legendary among the Legends fanbase. Ever since I first watched it, it has remained my all time favorite episode. It is an episode that I can never get tired of watching. The final score shows that this episode was very strong. Every round was high quality and there was never a single dull moment. The highlights of this episode include the very interesting legend and beautiful artifact. The temple games were intense with the Blue Barracudas making an amazing comeback in the team game and then turning around and winning the tiebreaker too! The temple run was also a classic and Missy's win was legendary! Despite all the criticism this episode gets, it remains as a Legends fanbase favorite among many fans. Missy's enthusiasm and emotions make this episode truly special! If you haven't watched this episode already, you are missing out on an unforgettable experience! I would easily recommend this episode to anyone and to watch it many times there after too!
