So it was Nick from Henry VIII and Josh from Empress Theodora that returned and they were on the same team, the Blue Barracudas. I thought all players in this episode were going to be ones that competed in the Nick version, so that was a little disappointing. What was more disappointing was Kirk Fogg's guest appearance. He was hiding in the Dark Forest during the temple run pretending to be the host and shaking the temple runners' hands as they were running through the temple. In this case, it was Nick and Josh. I thought Kirk would have a bigger role than this and it turns out him being in the Dark Forest briefly chatting with Nick and Josh may have cost them the grand prize. The team made it to the object, but fell a few seconds short of victory. I think the brief amount of time they stopped to be with Kirk cost them the win. If the producers were trying to prevent a win and save some money, they succeeded here.

Absolutely. But here’s also the thing; you completely miss Josh heading the The Royal Rage Room. He just exits the Room of the Beloved and is in then Crystal Cenote within a matter of seconds. I think it was also some tricky editing done as well.

If Nick's last name is Borey, what's Joshua's last name? There was a Joshua in Season 1 whose last name is Shullener.

Not sure, but I’m certain that Nick is the Silver Snake from “Henry the VIII’s Great Seal” and Josh is from “Imperial Purple Robe”. I’m in a Legends group on Facebook and someone put a video from the show both contestants mentioned their time on the 90’s version

A random thought popped up in my head while I was at work today:

What would happen in this reboot if in the temple, a contestant drops a piece of the Silver Monkey into the room below (just like in the Montezuma and Henry Hudson episodes)? The Dark Forest isn't directly below it now and even then, this Dark Forest doesn't have trees with temple spirits in them.

Don’t really see it happening since the pedestal is farther away from the barricade/door, but that would be interesting to see what they’d do

So, I rewatched the episode a few more times to fully grasp what I saw.

And in all honesty, it’s pretty good.

There are a few flaws like going to the Temple with 2 Pendants no matter what, the layout style where only certain doors open (also the Temple Guard’s door in the Shrine being the same as a regular door kinda ticks me off), the Temple Games set up looking mildly cheap (the second game’s set up with the cardboard boxes is my main gripe, as well as the plastic bottles from the Moat, but I can kinda overlook that one), Cristela isn’t bad as host, but their were probably better picks than her.

I do love the room ideas with the exception of the names. Don’t care for the names of the Royal Rage Room (don’t know why) and the Room of the Beloved (don’t get why they named it that when Beheaded fits better with the challenge of the room). There’s also what looks to be another room that did not have any mention, buts it’s clearly marked on the diagram map (above The Queen’s Armory), with a ladder clearly connected to it, unless it’s a passageway from the Shrine and wrap around to it (like the stairs from The Observatory to either The Pit or Kings Storeroom area).

The Moat I do enjoy that it’s more complex than it was with more challenges. The Steps remaining the same, with the sound effect. LOVE the emerald color of the pendants (same original design on them as well).

Don’t know if it was noticed, but the time out sound effect is an updated version of the Dark Forest door sound effect from season 2.


In all, I’d give it a B-. If they rework a few items, rework the Temple just a bit, and possibly bring back the Temple Run music, then I’ll jump it to a solid A.

Also, and I’ll say it again, screw the “First team to 2 Pendants wins” rule. If you win the Temple Game flat out, then 2 pendants are yours. If you go to the tiebreaker, then you receive a half pendant and the other is in the Temple. I wouldn’t even care if Olmec says “Enter The Crypt of the Heartless. Reach into the rotten corpses and find the beating heart. Place the bloody organ in the chamber, and watch out for the half pendant on top of the chamber…” or even tells you where else it could possibly be.

The two pendant thing should be changed because now there is no point in having three temple guards, heck they are better with having no pendants and one guard at that point.

That’s what I’m saying. If they split the 2 games, then whoever wins the tiebreaker question get a half pendant and the other half in hidden in the Temple.

With Cristela Alonzo hosting Legends of the Hidden Temple 2.0 instead of Kirk Fogg, do any of you think the reboot will suck and therefore won’t last?

Well, Dee is coming back, so Olmec will still be Olmec.

I’m on the fence with Cristela hosting. I do enjoy her, don’t get me wrong, just don’t know how she’ll be as a host until the show airs.

I’m just beyond happy that we’ll get another season at least.

I like how posting is back and we're not doing much with it, lol.

So anyway, who else has gotten a covid shot? I'm getting two. I've already gotten one. I'll get my 2nd shot next week. Can't wait to have another sore arm.

I got mine back in March/April. The first was fine and I only got a sore arm. The second one knocked me on my ass. Aside from already being petrified of needles, my arm was double sore (I flinched when they did it and the pain traveled all through out my arm), and I felt like absolutely crap for a few days afterward.

My advice to you is;

1) Don’t flinch like my stupid ass did.

2) Plenty on Gatorade, water, Tylenol, and rest after it.
