I want with Catherine de Medici for this one. It was a memorable and enjoyable episode, even though it had some flaws to it. The biggest flaws being the silly legend and Aqila passing the artifact. At the same time though, I liked the competition all the way through and the temple run was not as bad as people make it out to be. Aqila was performing just fine until she reached the Pepperoni. The ending was both memorable and hilarious.  Ponce de Leon was so boring and forgettable. The layout may have been hard, but the Green Monkeys were both slow and a little clueless. They weren't going to win even if they took shortcuts.

Yeah, I also voted for Golden Pepperoni. This to me was a great episode from beginning to end, minus the legend and Aqila's passing up of the artifact. At least I can remember things about Golden Pepperoni. What do I remember about Ponce de Leon? Nothing.

THE GOLDEN PEPPERONI OF CATHERINE DE MEDICI

Again, I was the one who didn't pick the winner. This episode I find that there are some bad things that prevented me from voting this. The Great Linguine was one of them  . Another was Aqila passing the half pendant, and then wasting time, then finding it. But the most important thing was "GET THE PEPPERONI". How do you pass an artifact? You have to be stupid to do that. Fountain of Youth was also uneventful and the team either had a choice of easy layout or ridiculous layout. By not going to the Ledges and avoiding the Shrine-Tomb shortcut, they got the ridiculous layout and had to deal with a one room away guard. This was the closest anyone got to a Center of the Room artifact starting up. Not to mention, I remember the Fountain of Youth Stakes @ Gulfstream more than this episode.

Golden Pepperoni is one of those episodes that manages to be entertaining despite some of the flaws it has. I know passing the artifact is pretty unforgivable, it still makes this run very memorable and exciting. If this never happened, then this run would probably be a forgettable failed escape like Blackfeet Chief. Although that legend was really bad though. It was like they couldn't figure out a story to write about Catherine de Medici so they pulled something out of their ass. I am not surprised that this episode almost won in unanimously.

Yeah, I'm glad Golden Pepperoni won, it deserved it. I'd MUCH rather see one mistake made in the last three seconds of the run, than an utterly forgettable run where the frontrunner spends 2:42 of his time moseying through every room. Not surprised at all.
