Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle

(The camera shifts to the temple and its rooms)

Olmec: With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now.

(Kirk is seen coming down the steps of the temple)

Kirk: Thank you, thank you! It's nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: The Science Kits of Albert Einstein.

Kirk: Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve them. Will it be The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They're going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and here's how they're gonna have to do it today.

Across the moat lie six soapy platforms. When I say go, the first partner will slide across the platform to the other side. However, this is a very slippery surface, so if you drop into the water, you must start again. When both partners have crossed, run over and hit the gong! (Kirk hits the Red Jaguars' gong) The first four teams to hit their gongs go on to the next round. Alright guys, are you ready?

Teams: Yeeaaahhh!!!!

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: I'm rrrready to rrrock!!

Kirk: You heard him, teams! On your marks, get set... GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: All right! It was head to head all the way, but we've got our four teams! Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Blue Barracudas and the Green Monkeys! And the Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots! Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too. They're not gonna be going away empty handed though, here's what we have for them:

Kirk: Well, apparently, our judges say that the spotters accidentally sent the Silver Snakes back, so they will be replacing the Blue Barracudas in the Steps. As we continue our quest, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about The Science Kits. But teams, pay close attention because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple.

Olmec: The only person whose name was a synonym for the word "genius" was Albert Einstein. He was born on April 14, in 1879. 26 years later, he was on his road to fame. Soon after, he wrote a long paper explaining why the sky is blue. Light and relativity became his main interests. He proved his theory on gravitational bending of light, as well as invented the well-known equation, E=MC2. His well-deserved Nobel Prize came to him in 1922. All this while, he bought new science kits, and reused old ones. Legend has it, after his death, the first ever sciece kit he used disappeared and no one has ever found it. You have a chance now to find it. Use this chance, and bring it back here.

Kirk: Thank you Olmec. And where is the kit?

(Camera shows the kit, then zooms out to show its location)

Olmec: Albert Einstein's First Science Kit can be found in The Lion's Lair.

Kirk: Okay. Teams, you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about the legend you just heard. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're first, your step will light up. Go ahead, stomp down.

(Silver stomps down first)

Alright, Silver, you stomped down first, so you have to answer the question. If you're right, you'll move down to the next level. If you're wrong or run out of time, I'm going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for your first question.

Kirk: These two teams will play for the right to enter Olmec's Temple, and they're gonna do it right after this!

(Pendant joins)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, let's get to know our team players. On the Orange Iguanas, we have Jake. He likes math, science, and to play baseball. And his partner Jessica likes to bike and swim.  Let's hear it for the Orange Iguanas!

(Applause)

Kirk: And on the Silver Snakes we have Andrew. He likes to play softball and collect Hip-Hop CDs. And his partner Lily likes soccer and has a large collection of posters! Let's hear it for the Silver Snakes!

(Applause)

Kirk: Okay, girls can go get ready for their temple game, same for boys. This is what's going to happen: in the temple games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life. (Kirk holds up a pendant). They need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games. And this is temple game number one:

Now, there was the E=MC2 theory that Einstein created. Now, when I say go, crawl into those tubes and come out somewhere in the maze. In six of those holes are a board, either saying E, =, or MC2--three boards for each team. If you find one, crawl back out and put it down. If not, search for another one. Now, you want to put those three boards in order on this frame, because the first team to do so or the team that's further along at the end of sixty seconds wins!

Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock Bangs Down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, go!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: The Orange Iguanas got E=, while the Silver Snakes only got E, so the Iguanas gets the half pendant! The next game is also worth a half pendant, and here it is:

Albert Einstein needed many science kits in his life, and each costed money. But as his works sold, more came in. When I say go, jump on the trampoline which should catapult you up onto the net. Then climb it and smash one of those compartments up there. If it has a coin, come back down and put it in your bin. The team with more coins at the end of sixty seconds wins!

Alright now. Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Let's see, the Orange Iguanas got 2, 4, 6, 7 coins. The Silver Snakes got 2, 4, 6, 7 coins too! So it's a tie: they both get the half-pendant! The next game, however is worth a full pendant:

There were many theories that Einstein proved. When I say go, you are going to load your catapult with a ball and shoot it up to your partner. He is then going to throw the ball from his platform up there onto the these statues and try to knock them over. The first team to knock down all four, or the team that knocks down more statues at the end of sixty seconds wins!

Kirk: Okay! Let's put sixty seconds on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Alright now. The Orange Iguanas got all four statues over, and the Purple Parrots only got two! So, the Orange Iguanas get the pendant. That leaves them with two pendants, the Silver Snakes only have a half, the Orange Iguanas are going to the temple!

(Cheers)

Kirk: But let's not forget, The Silver Snakes did a good job too! You're gonna take home a cool prize:

(Prizes are announced)

Kirk: The Orange Iguanas are gonna retrieve that kit, right after this!

(Camera pans to the the stage-left lion head in the Lion's Lair hanging off the hook)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. The Orange Iguanas have proven themselves worthy, and now have earned the right to enter Olmec's Temple. But before we get started, Olmec will give us some information on how to retrieve the the scinece kit!

Olmec: You could start by running through the Mining Chamber and climbing down into the Pit of Despair. Crawl through the pit, then race into the Chameleon Chamber. Change the color of the right chameleon and you could choose to go up the Lion's Lair, where you can grab Albert Einstein's First Science Kit, or you might enter the Spider's Lair. If you escape, you may have a chance to enter the Sacred Safari. Find the right key to go upstairs, or plough through the wall and into the Wild Whirlpool. Next, climb up the slide into the Forest Fire Room, and place all the water puzzle pieces down on top of the fire to open the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue and you may be headed for the Vine Drop. Next, race up to the Mouth of the Jaguar. Put the fangs in the mouth and jump back into the Pit. Pass through the Room of the Three Gargoyles, race down the stairs and back through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. Good luck!

Kirk: Okay, you guys won two pendants in the temple games, and here they are. Now, who's going first?

Jake: I am!

Kirk: Alright, well, when I say go, you will race through the gates into the temple and you'll make your way towards the Science Kit of Albert. But be careful ? the Temple has many locked doors and dead ends. Also hidden in the Temple there are also Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. If you enter one of those rooms, a Temple Guard will jump out and grab you. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and it'll be Jessica's turn to enter and try her luck. If you can reach the Apple, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. You'll have three minutes, and for your efforts you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!

(Prizes announced)

Kirk: Now first, tell me your strategy, Jake.

Jake: Well, I'm gonna go through the Mining Chamber and then into the um..Jaguar Mouth Room, then into the Vine Drop, down into the Spider's Lair, and then into the Chameleon Chamber and climb up to the kit.

Kirk: Well, we'll see if that works. Let's get in position here, mouthpieces in! Let's put three minutes on the clock!

(Clock bangs down)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GOO!!!

(Jake heads into the Mining Chamber and enters the crawl tube. He hits the actuator, and crawls into the Pit with 2:50 left on the clock.)

(Heading up to the Mouth of the Jaguar, the door opens, and he meets a temple guard! Never to be scared, he places the fangs in the mouth. Nothing happens, and he switches positions of two fangs, then heads back to the Pit with 2:23)

(He opens the door to the Chameleon Chamber and lights up orange after three tries. The door to the left opens, and he enters the Spider's Lair with 2:08 left.)

(Kirk called the room, "The Spider's Forest", and he wades through and heads into the Sacred Safari.)

(Busting through the wall, he enters The Wild Whirlpool and climbs right up into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:43 left.)

(Grabbing the base, he places it on backwards, the middle sideways, and the head the right way on. Kirk yells, then turns the whole thing around, spins round the middle and puts down the head. The door to the Vine Drop opens with 1:12 left!)

(Hitting the actuator to The Mouth of the Jaguar, the door slides open, but then hits the door to the artifact. He crawls into the Lion's Lair with 0:59 left!))

(Grabbing the Kit, all the doors open and he slides open the door to the Pit of Despair. He wants to climb across the door of The Mouth of The Jaguar to make his way across the back wall, but slips and falls into the flood of green balls with 0:31!)

(He crawls through the crawl tube of the Mining Chamber, where a pair of feet can be seen in the Room of the Three Gargoyles. He squeezes his body through the opening and throws the kit to the floor!)

(Bending down to get it, he has 0:12 left! He then races through the torches for a 0:09 second win!)

Kirk: He did it! He got Albert Einstein's Science Kits! He has it here, c'mon wave it in the air! They did a great job, Jessica was cheering him on, he did it all, we have to go now, see you next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple: Wild Jungle style! Buh-bye!

Summary:

This was a strange temple run. Jake headed up to the Mouth of the Jaguar from the Pit of the Despair, and it was both a temple guard room as well as a dead end, so he took the bottom floor, headed up to the Shrine in the Wild Whirlpool, and got the Kit. He took the bottom floor out. First strange thing, Jake had to hit the wall twice before it broke down, and the fall into the Pit after his failed attempt to climb was edited--his jump uncovered a large section of the mats on the Pit's floor, but after a creative camera shot of Jake climbing up into the crawl tube from a small clip-on camera from the Mining Chamber's actuator, the area was replenished. Lastly, a pair of feet was seen in the Room of the Three Gargoyles as Jake exited the temple. Also, in the credits, the temple guard door in that room was open.
