The camera makes its way through lush greenery, and the palms move away as ambient animal noises are heard. Portions of a temple are shown, and suddenly the jungle ends, and we see Olmec?s face light up and shout, ?LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!?

The show?s title card?a pendant of life?crashes together on the screen, and the camera shifts to focus on the temple and its rooms. ?With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now!?

The pendant splinters and Kirk is seen crawling out of the Jungle Crevice to run right into the center of the stage and up the Steps of Knowledge as he begins his narration.

?Thank you, thank you!? says Kirk. ?It's nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to the Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today??

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh of Norway!?

?Ooh, the Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh!? says Kirk. ?Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Golden Amulet?will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?The Blue Barracudas??
?The Green Monkeys??
?The Orange Iguanas??
?The Purple Parrots??
?Or the Silver Snakes??

?They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests,? continues Kirk, ?and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they?ll have to cross the moat, and Olmec?s gonna tell us how they have to do it today.?

Olmec instructs:
?Before you lies an ancient spinning log, and above it, a path of vines. When Kirk gives the signal, step out onto the log, and grab on to the first vine. If you fall off the log, you must got back and start again. If not, grab the next vine and make your way across the spinning log. When you reach the other side, it?s your partner?s turn to cross. When both partners have reached the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?Okay, teams!? calls Kirk. ?Are you ready??

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?This rock is ready to roll!? replies Olmec.

?Okay, then,? says Kirk. ?Teams! On your marks, get set? GO!?

Six players edge forward towards the menacing logs spinning over the water. ?This isn?t easy!? reminds Kirk. ?If they don?t keep their feet moving, they?ll be in the water in no time.? The girl on the Red Jaguars, galloping like a horse, keeps her feet moving?but too fast, and loses her footing, falling into the water early. The boys on the Silver Snakes and Blue Barracudas seem to be just moving across the logs as fast as they can, while the Orange Iguanas steadily jog on the log as they move sideways, pulling each vine to the furthest point it can go. ?The Green Monkeys are catching up!? says Kirk, right as the boy on the Purple Parrots?already halfway across?falls into the water. Meanwhile, the first players on the Orange Iguanas, Blue Barracudas, Silver Snakes, and Red Jaguars are already on the opposite deck and cheering on their partners. ?This is a tough Moat crossing,? comments Kirk, as the girl on the Green Monkeys steps off onto the deck and her partner begins to cross. ?Our players?ve gotta? hold on and move at the same time?takes a lot of coordination to get it done right!? Shortly after he says this, an almost continuous ringing and three colored lights indicate that the Orange Iguanas, Silver Snakes, and Blue Barracudas have all gonged in.

?Just like that, we?ve got three teams!? exclaims Kirk. ?We still have room for one more team, though?looks like the Green Monkeys are having a little trouble out on the Moat!? Indeed, the boy on the Green Monkeys is in the air clutching a vine, trying to find the right moment to set his feet back down on the log. Meanwhile, the girl on the Purple Parrots falls off the log. ?Looks like it may be the Red Jaguars,? notices Kirk, as the boy on the Red Jaguars quickly speeds up as he reaches the end of his team?s log. ?Here they come!? shouts Kirk as the Red Jaguars run over to their gong and slam down on it. ?That?s it! We?ve got our four teams!?

The next shot shows Kirk standing next to the Silver Snakes. ?That was a tough Moat!? he comments. ?Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes?and the Orange Iguanas?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

?The Purple Parrots and the Green Monkeys gave it a great effort as well,? he says. ?We?re not gonna send them away empty-handed?we?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is??

The screen transitions to a shot of the four teams atop the Steps of Knowledge. ?As the quest continues,? says Kirk, ?it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh. But teams?pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s temple.?

Olmec narrates the legend:
?One of the greatest Norwegian kings was Haakon the Seventh. Born as Prince Carl in Denmark, he was descended from several other Norwegian kings and was crowned King of Norway in 1906. When he was 68, the German Nazis invaded Norway during World War II, and the people of Norway all turned to him for help.

??What are we going to do?? a citizen shouted.

??This isn?t their country!? another shouted.

?Haakon was determined to get the Germans out of Norway. Legend has it, he took a piece from a broken crown and made an amulet of it.

??I swear I will not put this amulet down until Norway is ours again!? promised Haakon as he held the shard high in the sky.

?For five years, Norway resisted its German occupation, and in 1945, Haakon returned to Norway, sailing into Oslo in front of cheering crowd, holding up his golden amulet. As he entered the city, he tossed his golden amulet into the crowd and someone grabbed it. Years later, it made its way to the Temple. Your task is to find the Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh and bring it back here.?

?Thank you, Olmec,? says Kirk after a short pause, ?so tell us?where is this Golden Amulet??

?The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh can be found? in the Catfish Cove.? reveals Olmec. A spotlight lands on the amulet hanging off a small wooden pole in the back of the room before the camera zooms in on it.

?Ooh, the Catfish Cove,? says Kirk in response. ?Teams?you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec?s gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level, but if you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m gonna have to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams that make it to the bottom level?? Kirk runs down the steps, then walks out of view ??will be one step closer to Olmec?s temple. Olmec, we?re now ready for your first question??

Olmec asks: ?Was Haakon the King of?England??

The Orange Iguanas ring in: ?Norway??

?That is correct,? declares Olmec. ?Okay, step down, Orange Iguanas,? instructs Kirk over some brief applause. ?Olmec, next question, please.?

Olmec asks: ?Was Haakon born in?Norway, Denmark, or America??

The Red Jaguars stomp down: ?Uh, Denmark???

?That is correct,? answers Olmec. ?Step down, Red Jaguars!? says Kirk in response as the Red Jaguars also move down to the second step. ?Next question.?

Olmec asks: ?Norway is a country ruled by a King. Does that make it?a democracy, a monarchy, or an anarchy??

The Silver Snakes buzz in and guess: ?Uh? a monarchy???

?That? is correct,? replies Olmec. ?All right, step down, Silver Snakes,? says Kirk. ?This match is heating up! Olmec, your next question, please.?

Olmec asks: ?Is the ceremony in which kings are crowned called?knighting, coronation??

The Red Jaguars cut him off: ?Conor? Coronation??

?That is correct,? declares Olmec. ?A little hard to pronounce,? comments Kirk, ?but the Red Jaguars are now just one step away from the Temple Games. Next question??

Olmec asks: ?During World War II, was Norway occupied by?Germany, Japan, or Amer??

The Silver Snakes interrupt: ?Germany??

?That is correct,? says Olmec. ?And now the Silver Snakes are one step away from the Temple Games,? announces Kirk. ?We?re still looking for our first team, though. Next question??

Olmec asks: ?According to our legend, did Haakon make his amulet from?a crown??

The Blue Barracudas ring in: ?A crown???

?That is correct,? replies Olmec. ?The Blue Barracudas are on the board,? commentates Kirk as they step down. ?Olmec, next question.?

Olmec asks: ?Did Haakon return to Norway in?1945, 1955, or 1820??

The Silver Snakes stomp down: ?1945!?

?That is correct!? says Olmec. ?We?ve got our first team going to the Temple Games!? shouts Kirk as the Silver Snakes jump down onto the bottom step. ?It?s the Silver Snakes! We?ve still got room for another team, though. Who?s it gonna be?the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, or Orange Iguanas? Let?s find out? next question, Olmec.?

Olmec asks: ?Was Haakon born as Prince Christopher, Prince Carl, or??

The Orange Iguanas are first to ring in: ?Prince Carl.?

?That is correct,? declares Olmec. ?Ooh, now the Orange Iguanas are one step away from the Temple Games!? remarks Kirk. ?Next question??

Olmec asks: ?When Haakon returned to Norway, did he return?in a carriage, on a ship??

The Red Jaguars buzz in: ?On his ship??

?That is correct!? shouts Olmec. ?We?ve got our two teams going on to the Temple Games!? announces Kirk as he runs over to the teams on the bottom step. ?They are the Red Jaguars? and the Silver Snakes! The Orange Iguanas and the Blue Barracudas gave it a great effort, though. We?ve got a great gift for them and here?s what it is.?

Dee reads the prize:
??It?s here?the official Legends: Wild Jungle backpack! Custom-designed and made to fit, never venture anywhere without the wildest backpack in the world! The official Legends: Wild Jungle backpack, from Nickelodeon and Jansport!?

The screen wipes to reveal Kirk with his hands on the two remaining teams? shoulders. ?These two teams are gonna be competing for the rights to enter Olmec?s temple,? he says, ?and they?re gonna do it?right after this!? The camera flies high above the empty Temple Games floor, and then zooms in on the distant audience. The show?s logo appears, and the screen fades out shortly after.

The pendant splits and disappears, the camera zooms out from a sideways view of the Elephant?s Cave, looking towards the end of the Temple, and then we fade to Kirk and the two teams.

?Welcome back to Legends,? says Kirk, standing in front of The Vine Drop with the two remaining teams. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest? so before we get started, let?s meet our teams. On the Red Jaguars, we have Brian. You play baseball and basketball, but it also says here that you like chemistry. Tell me about that.?

?Um, I like to do the experiments,? replies the brown-haired, brown-eyed boy, ?and I just? enjoy learning about it.?

?Okay, sounds good,? replies Kirk, turning to Brian?s shorter Hispanic partner with long, wavy brown hair. ?And also, we have Ana. She is from Mexico and was brought in here by Nickelodeon in Latin America. And uh, tell us about yourself.?

Ana says something in Spanish, but a girl?s voice overdubs what she says. ?I play soccer,? says the voiceover, ?and I like reading and painting.?

?Okay, buena suerte to this team!? shouts Kirk. ?Let?s hear it for the Red Jaguars!? The audience applauds for the team as Kirk turns to face the boy on the Silver Snakes, a short, black boy with dark frizzy hair.

?And over on the Silver Snakes,? Kirk continues, ?we?ve got Peyton. You write mysteries?tell me about that.?

?Well, I read a lot of mysteries when I was younger,? Peyton explains, ?and they kinda inspired me to start writin?.?

?So do you want to be an author?? asks Kirk. ?Yeah, probably,? replies Peyton.

?All right,? says Kirk in response, moving on to the last player, a girl with slightly tanned skin and blond hair reaching her shoulders. ?And your partner here, Megan, likes going to the beach?why??

?Well, I lived in California,? explains Megan, ?so my family took me to the beach often.?

?What do you like to do there?? Kirk then asks.

?Um? probably surfing,? she says.

?We?ve got some sporty players today!? comments Kirk. ?Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!? Once again, the audience applauds, this time for the Silver Snakes.

?You guys ready to play?? Kirk asks. The players cheer and yell in response. ?Okay, go get ready for your games, and I?ll explain what?s gonna happen?? The players all walk off-camera in different directions.

?In the temple games, teams are competing to win pendants of life?? Kirk grabs a pendant out of his pouch and holds it up to the camera. ?The winning team will need those pendants o protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards, as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games?Olmec, can you please tell us about Temple Game #1??

Olmec explains:
?During World War II, the Germans had to cross large distances to attack countries. Fortunately for you, the distance you?ll have to travel isn?t as large. You have three flags of your team?s color, and a maze of three places: the Camp, the Jungle, and the Lake. When Kirk gives the signal, run through the maze and plant your flag at the end of each obstacle to conquer it. The first team to plant all their flags and cross the finish line? wins.?

?Three obstacles to go through, three countries to conquer,? comments Kirk. ?All right, teams! On your marks, get set? GO!? Ana and Megan begin, racing to the Camp first, ridden with twisted metal and scattered tarp. ?They?ve got to make it through that Camp,? explains Kirk, as the girls begin to scale the mess, which unstably shakes as the players climb it. Ana shows a lead, making it to the top of the pile first and makes her way down a wooden slide to the stone floor, where a holder awaits. ?The Red Jaguars are doing good,? commentates Kirk as Ana sticks the pole of her first flag into the holder and moves on, just as Megan gets off the slide. ?Now the teams have to head through the dreaded Jungle,? says Kirk, as the Red Jaguars maintain their lead heading into the Jungle, full of elastic cords criss-crossing. Megan follows suit soon after, entering the Jungle and crawling through as low as possible, while Ana simply tries to scramble through the elastics. This time, both players get out of the obstacle at around the same time, plant their flags, and continue on a footrace to the Lake. ?Now they have to cross the Lake whatever way they can!? announces Kirk. The girls race up the set of stairs to the deck around the Lake and jump into the pool, wading their way through the water. ?It?s gonna be a race to the finsh,? commentates Kirk, ?and it?s gonna be close!? However, Ana is first to plant her third flag?just barely ahead of the Silver Snakes?and darts across the finish line to win the game.

?Okay, stop right there!? shouts Kirk as he runs over to Ana and Megan, who has now crossed the finish line. ?All right, nice job, girls! It was a tough race and they?re both out of breath?but Ana, from Mexico, finished first to win the Red Jaguars a half-pendant!? The audience cheers as the spotters run over to hand the players towels.

?The next game is also worth a half-pendant,? reveals Kirk. ?Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #2.?

Olmec narrates:
?Haakon the Seventh, like any King, wore a crown on his head?but crowns don?t stay shiny forever. On the ceiling above you are some of Haakon?s crowns, and in this game, you?ll be taking them down for a cleaning. When Kirk gives the signal, jump up and grab one of Haakon?s crowns off the ceiling. Then come back down and put it in your bin. The first player to collect all the crowns, or the team that collects the most crowns at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?

?Let?s collect some crowns!? says Kirk. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?

The clock slams into the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? Immediately, the teams spring off the ground and try to grab a crown. The Red Jaguars don?t make it all the way up, however. ?Oh, the Red Jaguars couldn?t quite jump high enough?now the Silver Snakes are taking the lead,? commentates Kirk as Peyton snatches a crown from the ceiling and drops it in his bucket moments later. [0:45] This lead continues, with the Red Jaguars one crown behind the Silver Snakes. ?Red Jaguars are a little behind,? remarks Kirk with 24 seconds left on the clock. Brian drops down with his third crown, but Peyton is grabbing his fourth by then. The Red Jaguars try and jump back up, but Brian misses and he falls back down empty-handed. ?Oh, Red Jaguars didn?t get that crown!? shouts Kirk. ?That?s gonna cost them...? As the audience counts down the final seconds, Peyton grabs a fifth crown and sails down on his elastic cord and drops it in his bucket. [0:07] He jumps up again, hoping to bag another crown before time runs out, but he is unsuccessful?the clock explodes and the ceiling lights flash to indicate that TIME IS UP! ?Okay, stop right there!? shouts Kirk, running over to the baskets.

?Let?s count up the crowns,? says Kirk, kneeling down in front of the bucket marked with a red ribbon first. ?The Red Jaguars had one? two? three? four crowns?? He stands up and walks over to the silver bucket. ?? And the Silver Snakes got? one? two? three? four? FIVE crowns? The Silver Snakes get the half pendant of life!? Kirk gives Peyton a high-five as the crowd cheers.

?The Red Jaguars have a half-pendant,? recounts Kirk, ?and the Silver Snakes also have a half a pendant. It?s a half-pendant apiece. We?re going into our third and final game?it?s worth a full pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec continues:
?Norway consists of some low-lying areas, but also beautiful mountainous terrain. Before you stands a series of large cliffs on the mountain which you?ll need to climb. When Kirk gives the signal, help your partner up the first step, and then pull yourself up onto it. Then do it again and climb up to the next step. When you reach the top, hit the gong! The first team to hit their gong, or the team that?s further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?

?Well, at least it?s all uphill from here,? jokes Kirk. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock!?

The clock drops into place in the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set? GO!? Ana and Megan are boosted up by their partners, and then the boys begin climbing up the first step, holding onto their partners? hands for extra support. ?It?s gonna be a close race to the top!? comments Kirk as the two teams still race neck-and-neck, trying to get up onto the second step. Megan sets foot on the second step first, but her standing position makes it hard to help Peyton up the step, making the Silver Snakes? lead virtually redundant. [0:47] The Red Jaguars catch up soon after, and ??it?s gonna be neck-and-neck up the final step to victory!? yells Kirk from the base of the steps. The girls once again get up onto the top step at the same time and begin to pull at their partner?s arms to desperately get them up. [0:35] ?Who?s it gonna be?? asks an excited Kirk. ?Red or Silver? Red or Silver? It?s?? The sound of a gong chimes in, and the camera zooms in on the top step?only the Silver Snakes? gong is lit! The team celebrates atop the third ledge and the clock, frozen at 27 seconds, disappears.

?That?s it!? yells Kirk. ?The Silver Snakes made it up there first, so they get the full pendant!? The audience cheers briefly before Kirk continues.

?That gives the Silver Snakes a pendant and a half,? calculates Kirk. ?The Red Jaguars had a half? The Silver Snakes are going to the Temple!? The camera quickly zooms in on Megan and Peyton, who hug and high-ten in excitement. ?The Red Jaguars gave it a great effort as well. Thanks for coming on the show, Ana? We?re gonna give them a great gift, and here?s what it is!?

Dee reads the prize:
?It?s a prize package from Hershey! Enjoy Hershey?s greatest creations, including Hershey?s Kisses, Milk Duds, and much, much, more. From the Hershey Company!?

We transition to a shot of Kirk with the Silver Snakes, now on the ground. ?This is a strong Silver Snakes team,? he says, ?and now we?ll see if they can make it through Olmec?s Temple, retrieve that Golden Amulet of Haakon, right after this!? The screen fades to a wide shot of the Temple, the camera flies past many of the rooms on the top floor, then focuses on the doorway between the Room of the Tropicana Birds and the Walk of Faith, filled with mist. The pendant crashes together to form the show?s logo, and then we fade to black.

The pendant splits, the camera zooms out from some small stones lying beside the Steps of Knowledge, and then we fade to Kirk with his hands on the Silver Snakes? shoulders.

?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Peyton and Megan proven themselves worthy and now have earned the right to enter Olmec?s temple. But first, Olmec?s going to give them some information to help them retrieve The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh of Norway.?

Olmec begins his rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Tigers' Den and climbing down into the Vine Drop. Pull the right vine to raise the stone slab, then race into the Treasury of the Monkeys. Find the right bunch of fruit, and you could choose to go up into the Anaconda's Sanctuary, or into the Grand Marsh. Open the crocodiles? mouths to find the tongue, and you might have a chance to enter The Forest? of a Thousand Dragons. Reach into the dragon?s mouths and find the key?but be careful: one of the dragons might be inhabited by the spirit of a Temple Guard! If they grab you, you?ll have to give up a Pendant of Life. Next, plow through the wall and into the Secret Spring.

?There, climb up the Falls and into the Catfish Cove?where you can grab the Golden Amulet. Find the correct bucket, and open the door to the Shriiiiine? of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Elephant?s Cave. Find the peanut and feed the correct elephant, which will allow you into the Wildebeests' Hideout. Turn the correct horn, and run across the Walk of Faith. Then, pass through the Room of the Tropicana Birds, race down the stairs, and back through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone. You won one-and-a-half pendants in the temple games. Who's going first??

?I am!? shouts Megan.

?Very well, Megan!? replies Olmec. ?When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the temple, and make your way towards the Golden Amulet. Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on but if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the temple... and it will be Peyton?s turn to enter and try his luck. Hidden inside the temple is the other half of your pendant. If you can find it, and you?re carrying the other half, you will get an extra life. If you can reach the Golden Amulet, all the doors of the temple will instantly unlock and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded?and here's how!?

Dee reads the team?s prizes:
?   For just going into the temple, you?ll both receive $1000 worth of Toys ?r? Us ?Geoffery Dollars?! Shopping at Toys ?r? Us is even more fun with you?ve got Geoffery Dollars, ?cause they?re good as cash at any Toys ?r? Us store! From Toys ?r? Us.
?   If you can grab the Golden Amulet before three minutes is up, you?ll also receive a complete set of encyclopedias! The latest edition of World Book includes over 20 volumes packed with information and illustrations for school and family use alike. World Book?the number-one selling print encyclopedia in the world.
?   And if you can bring the Golden Amulet out of the temple before three minutes is up, you?ll both be embarking on a Baja Mexico cruise! Sail the Baja Mexico on the largest cruise in the world, on Carnival Cruiselines! Fun activities on-board including dining for the entire family. From Carnival Cruiselines.

?A Mexican cruise!? repeats Kirk. ?Sounds great, let?s see if we can get them on that cruise. Let?s get in position? and let?s put three minutes on the clock!?

The clock slams down in the corner of the screen. ?Olmec,? says Kirk, ?please lower your gate.? The gate lowers as Olmec moans and the lights around him switch off. ?On your marks, get set? GO!?

Megan races up the steps of the Temple, rounding the corner and disappearing behind Olmec. ?They?ve got a pendant and a half,? reminds Kirk. ?Somewhere in that Temple is another half-pendant?can they find it?? Megan chooses to start off low, sliding down into the Tiger?s Den and navigating the sharp rockwork of the room. [2:46] She gropes around in the darkness, trying to find an actuator, but the doors to the Vine Drop both don?t budge. ?She?s gonna have to go up,? says Kirk, ?into the Room of the Tropicana Birds.? The door upward slides open, and Megan climbs up into the Room of the Tropicana Birds, but before she can even stand up, a TEMPLE GUARD jumps out from behind a sliding door and scares Megan right back down the ladder!

?Temple guard!? shouts Kirk in surprise. ?Oh, he scared poor Megan back down into the Tiger?s Den, but she gives him the pendant and is moving on!? She rises to her feet, hits the first beak she sees?the leftmost?and proceeds down the stairway through the open pair of doors. [2:31] ?Now she?s gonna cross the Walk of Faith.? Megan carefully crosses the bridge of vines, gripping the vines running to the sides while balancing on a single central vine under her feet. She crosses the bridge, then kicks the actuator on the other side, sliding open the door to the Wildebeests? Hideout. As she heads through the door, the camera zooms in on a small golden object hanging off the actuator?the hidden half-pendant. ?She?s going up to the Wildebeests? Hideout now,? commentates Kirk as we switch to a shot inside the Wildebeests? Hideout, which Megan appears in seconds later. [2:18] But before she can even make it to the wildebeest?s head, a second TEMPLE GUARD emerges from the back of the room and grabs her with 2:12 remaining.

?Oh, she?s out?go, Peyton!? yells Kirk from the sidelines, and Peyton launches himself up the steps, directly racing up to the Room of the Tropicana Birds. ?She got taken out by those dreaded Temple Guards, and now in goes Peyton to clean things up!? Peyton rushes through the room, down the stairs, and then steadies himself before heading across the Walk of Faith. [1:59] He heads through the doorway, and the camera once again zooms in on the half-pendant, dangling off the actuator. Peyton makes his way up the steep stairway to the Wildebeests? Hideout and enters the room with 1:56 to go. He spins the right horn before the left, and the door to the Anaconda?s Sanctuary opens. ?Now he?s gonna go into the Anaconda Room,? comments Kirk, as Peyton is seen backing his way down the ladder into the center of the Temple. ?He has to take the snake and get it in the correct hole in the walls.? Peyton turns around and grabs the rubber snake off the front ledge. [1:37] He then begins to feed the snake into the hole on the left wall of the room, and seconds later, the door to the Elephant?s Cave opens. ?Into the Elephant Cave he goes,? Kirk remarks, as Peyton scuttles through the crawl tube, standing up and making his way into the room. He heads to the front of the room to open the first box, but before he can, the panel containing the center elephant rotates to reveal a third TEMPLE GUARD with 1:23 on the clock! The audience groans as the guard grabs Peyton and takes him away, before the camera segues back to Kirk and Megan.

?Aw!? groans Kirk, disappointed. ?Temple Guard got him?he didn?t see the other half-pendant right there on the Walk of Faith? If he had gotten it, that would?ve made the difference? Ah, those Temple Guards! They still get the Toys ?r? Us dollars for playing, though. See you next time for another great Legend of? the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!?

The credits begin to scroll as various ending scenes are shown: a fog machine spewing mist into the Vine Drop, a cheering audience, and the Golden Amulet itself, still hanging in the Catfish Cove. Finally, the camera fades out, and the light bulb-Nickelodeon logo is shown as an electric buzzing noise is heard.

Artifact Name: The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh
Location: The Catfish Cove
Result: Got caught by three Temple Guards
Time Remaining: 1:23
Pendants Won: 1.5

I can't help but feel sorry for the Silver Snakes. They rarely made it to the Temple in Season 2, and when they did, unfortunate things happened to them.

The Moat crossing was one of my favorites - the spinning log crossing, where players crossed the Moat by holding onto the vines, trying not to fall off the log. Like the previous episode in production order, The Gold-Lined Gauntlet of Peter the Hermit (, the four teams to qualify were the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, and Silver Snakes. After a fairly boring legend and Steps of Knowledge round, the Silver Snakes and Red Jaguars made it to the Temple Games.

The Red Jaguars were made up of Brian, who liked chemistry, and Ana, an international contestant from Mexico. The Silver Snakes were made up of Peyton, a future mystery author, and Megan, who liked going to the beach and surfing. The Temple Games were actually fairly interesting to watch. The first game was my second-favorite game from the second season (my personal favorite being the one where players slid down a slippery footpath as far as possible to win), the three-part obstacle course. The Red Jaguars won this game, but the Silver Snakes won the second, a game where players jumped up, grabbed one of Haakon's crowns from the ceiling, and then jumped back down. The third was an extremely close face-off on a set of giant steps. The teams basically finished at the same time, but the Silver Snakes edged it out to move on to the Temple with a pendant and a half.

The Temple Run itself was rather pitiful - the players only managed to pass through five rooms in the time they had. Megan started off in the Tiger's Den, thinking that going low was the correct path, but was forced up into the Room of the Tropicana Birds, where she met her first guard. She crossed the Walk of Faith and was promptly taken out of the Temple in the Wildebeests' Hideout. Sadly, Peyton passed up the half-pendant hidden on the actuator to the Wildebeests' Hideout on the Walk of Faith, and a third guard ended the run with 1:23 to go in the Elephant's Cave. The team actually moved quite fast, but their mistake cost them dearly.

The "international contestant" thing absolutely amazed me? I mean, Tina from Hong Kong understood English, but Ana from Mexico required a voice overdub? I'm surprised they'd let someone who couldn't speak English on the show? or that she'd get that far, even with interpreters.

Well, they had GUTS contestants that didn't speak English, so I guess it's entirely possible.

Eh, I figured since HK was once a British colony, they'd at least know some basic English. Granted, I don't know what it's like in Mexico, but maybe that was a bit unrealistic.

Actually, I forgot about the Global GUTS contestants that didn't know English. I guess, given that, it could work, although the question round(s) would likely pose a setback.
