Episode 99px]

The camera swerves through a thick rainforest, and after multiple turns, it eventually stops in front of an ancient temple.  The eyes of giant stone head next to the temple gate light up red as he begins to speak:
The show's logo forms as two halves of a Pendant of Life come in from the sides of the screen and merge; the show's name appears above the logo as the camera pans across the entire temple.
"With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk emerges from a thick patch of jungle plants and shrubs, then runs into the foreground and up a wide set of steps to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures of his temple.  Which one are we gonna hear about today?"

Faint orange lights underneath Olmec turn on, and the camera cuts to a close-up of him as he replies:
"The legend of the Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha."

"Ooh, the Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha!" Kirk says in response as the camera cuts back to him. "So the adventure is set, and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Robe of the Emerald Buddha.  Will it be:
"Garrett and Lindsey of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order, their first names briefly appearing at the bottom of the screen?
"Akshay and Alexis of the Blue Barracudas,
"Christian and Jess of the Green Monkeys,
"Aaron and Shelby of the Orange Iguanas,
"James and Sydney of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Marc and Tiffany of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll do it today?
"Each team is standing in front of five swinging steps: one by itself, and then two pairs.  When I say 'Go,' one player from each team will step out onto the first step, and then he'll go left or right on the next steps until he makes it across.  But one of the steps in each of the pairs of steps is gonna sink if the player steps onto them and then he'll fall in, and then he'll have to go back and try again.  As soon as the first player's across, it's his partner's turn to cross."
"As soon as the second player jumps down onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He hits the top button on the Red Jaguars' gong? which lights up red? to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Are you ready, teams?"
"YEAH!" The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"What do you expect?" Olmec asks in response.
"All right!" Kirk replies. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

?There go the teams, goin? out swingin?!? Kirk comments as the first players on each team reach for the first steps and swing out. ?Now the tough part, it?s the transition and it?s picking the right one?? The boy on the Purple Parrots and the girl on the Silver Snakes go left for the second step and both sink and have to start over, but the rest of the teams properly progress.  Out of those four players, however, only the boy on the Orange Iguanas correctly chooses the left step in the last pair on his first try; the others stay to the right and have to go back.  He successfully makes it to the other side first, requiring twenty-one seconds; the first players for the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes, having recovered from their first attempt more quickly, are not too far behind.
?I think we got our first team? they?re fast!? remarks Kirk a bit later as the Orange Iguanas? second player swings across almost effortlessly, with the Parrots and Snakes just a bit behind and the other three teams still suffering.  After a rapid crossing, the second Orange Iguana bangs the team gong after only thirty-four seconds of Moat.  The Snakes and Parrots claim second and third within a second of each other, mere moments later. ?Still looking for one more team, who?s it gonna be?? The Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas finally get their first players across after forty-four seconds spent crossing; the Green Monkeys take a little longer.
?Looks like this is gonna be close!? Kirk remarks as the female Red Jaguar and male Blue Barracuda swing out to the final steps; the male Green Monkey misses the step and has to go back, after a total fifty-seven seconds.  It becomes a race between the Red Jaguar and the Blue Barracuda, but the Jaguar reaches the gong a split second sooner, ending the Moat after a minute and two seconds.
?That?s it!? Kirk announces, and the camera switches to him celebrating with a jumping pair of Red Jaguars around their gong. ?The Red Jaguars pulled it out in the clutch, and they?re goin? on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Orange Iguanas?? the camera briefly shows each of the other qualifying teams, with Kirk pausing to allow the audience to cheer? ?and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Blue Barracudas and the Green Monkeys gave it a great effort, it was a tough match.  But they?re not going away empty-handed, we got a great gift for them and here?s what it is.? Akshay, Alexis, Brandon and Tammy will each be receiving a copy of Planet 51 on DVD.
Title: Rediscovery EP: The Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on August 09, 2010, 05:05:59 PM
When the camera cuts away from the consolation prize, Kirk and the four remaining teams are at the top of the Steps of Knowledge. "As the quest continues, it's time for Olmec to tell us about the Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha.  But teams, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:

"One of the largest and most ornate temples in all of Asia is the Wat Phra Kaew, the most sacred complex in all of Thailand.  The temple is made up of over one hundred buildings, many of which are covered in gold and jewels.  Patterns of statues decorate the outside of the Ubosoth, the main building of the temple.  But the main attraction is a figure deep inside the temple: a jade statue known as the Emerald Buddha.  The statue can be found inside a shrine decorated with orange and green tiles, gold and mosaics, and is off-limits to everyone except the King of Thailand.  And legend has it that it was a divine gift for the Thais?
"Long ago, the Bamboo Forest Temple in Chiang Rai was struck by lightning in a storm.  When the rubble was cleared, the monks uncovered the Emerald Buddha.
" 'This is a sign? nay, a gift!' one of them proclaimed. 'Here we have a symbol for our people, which must be guarded and honored!'
"The other monks agreed, and had the statue shipped to the Wat Phra Kaew for safety.  The statue has been there ever since, dressed in gold robes which must be ceremonially changed for the rainy, cool and summer seasons.  Legend has it that the original robe for the summer season was lost and had to be replaced, and made its way to THIS temple.  Your quest is to retrieve the Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha and bring it back here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk replies as soon as Olmec finished telling the legend, "but tell us: Where is the Robe?"
Olmec answers:
"The Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha can be found in the Bamboo Forest." The camera zooms in on a golden yellow robe draped over the outcropping of the Bamboo Forest, then fades back to Kirk.

"Okay.  Teams," Kirk begins, "in a moment, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or you run out of time, I'm gonna give the other teams a chance." Kirk starts walking down the steps at this point, then turns around to face the teams. "The first two teams to make it to the bottom step? will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we?re ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Which of these countries can the Wat Phra Kaew be found in: China, Thailand???
A stomp from Marc interrupts Olmec: ?Thailand.?
?Correct,? says Olmec in response.
?Nice job, Silver Snakes, step down,? remarks Kirk, and the Silver Snakes move down to the second step. ?Next question, Olmec!?

Olmec asks:
?Is the Emerald Buddha ceremonially dressed in: Silver, Gol???
Lindsey hesitantly hits the marking first: ??Gold.?
?Red Jaguars, step down!? Kirk calls out, and the Red Jaguars also move down to the second step. ?Next question!?

Olmec now asks:
?According to legend, was the Emerald Buddha uncovered after a: Thunderstorm, Flood or Earthquake??
After a moment, Lindsey rings in again: ?Um? Thunderstorm???
?That is correct,? replies Olmec.
?Whoo! Just like that, the Red Jaguars are now just one step away from the Temple Games!? declares Kirk as the Red Jaguars move down to the third step. ?We?re looking for two teams.  Olmec, next question!?

Olmec asks:
?The Wat Phra Kaew is in the capital of Thailand.  Is that city: Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City or Bangkok??
As Olmec is saying the third choice, Sydney interrupts him: ?Bangkok.?
?Correct,? answers Olmec.
?Purple Parrots, step down!? Kirk shouts, and the Purple Parrots move down to the second step beside the Silver Snakes. ?Orange Iguanas can still get into this.  Next question.?

Olmec?s next question is this:
?How many buildings make up the Wat Phra Kaew: More than ten, More than a hundred or More than a thousand??
Once again, Sydney buzzes in during the third choice: ?More than a hundred???
?That is correct.?
?Purple Parrots one step away from the Temple Games!? Kirk declares. ?This match is heating up.  Next question!?

Olmec continues:
?Do the Emerald Buddha?s robes have to be changed: Three times a year, Four times a year or Twelve times???
Aaron cuts off Olmec this time: ?Three times a year???
?Orange Iguanas are on the board!? Kirk announces as the Orange Iguanas also move down to the second step. ?It?s anybody?s game! Olmec, next question, please.?

Olmec asks:
?In our legend, the Emerald Buddha wore the Original Robe during which of these seasons: The rainy season, The cool season or The summer season??
Aaron gongs in: ?Rainy season???
Nobody else attempts to answer, and eventually a bell sounds.
?Time?s up! The correct answer was: The summer season.?
?All right, Olmec, next question,? says Kirk.

Olmec then asks:
?The Emerald Buddha is not actually made of emerald, but another green stone.  Is it made of: Peridot, Topaz???
Marc interrupts Olmec this time: ?Jade.?
?That is correct,? says Olmec in response.
?Silver Snakes are now just one step away from the Temple Games! This is a tough match!? Kirk remarks as the Silver Snakes join the Red Jaguars and Purple Parrots on the penultimate level. ?Olmec, continue.?

Olmec does so by asking:
?According to our legend, which of these decorates the outside of the Wat Phra Kaew: Statues, Spires or Flying buttress???
Sydney stomps down early and guesses: ?Statues???
?That is correct!? shouts Olmec, and the Purple Parrots hop down to the bottom step.
?We got our first team moving on to the Temple Games, it?s the Purple Parrots!? Kirk announces as the Purple Parrots start celebrating. ?We?re still looking for one more team, who?s it gonna be: the Red Jaguars, the Orange Iguanas or the Silver Snakes? Next question, Olmec!?

Olmec asks:
?Which color tiles decorate the Shrine of the Emerald Buddha: Red and yellow tiles, Orange and green tiles or Black and white tiles??
Lindsey steps in and guesses: ?Red and yellow tiles???
Neither of the other teams attempts to ring in; eventually, a bell sounds.
?Time?s up! They were orange and green tiles.?
?All right, tough question, Olmec, but let?s keep going,? Kirk remarks.

Olmec finally asks:
?In Buddhism, which of these words describes a peaceful state of mind: Karma, Nirvana or Soundgarden??
Aaron hits the marking first: ?Soundgarden???
?Incorrect,? replies Olmec, and a few members of the audience noticeably laugh.
?Oh? Silver Snakes??? Kirk comments, dumbfounded, as the Snakes? step lights up.
Marc gongs in: ?Nirvana...??
?THAT IS CORRECT!? bellows Olmec, and the Silver Snakes move around the Purple Parrots to jump down onto the bottommost step.  Kirk then runs up the bottom step and turns to face the camera, allowing the two teams to celebrate with each other.
?We got our two teams right here!? he declares. ?It?s the Purple Parrots and the Silver Snakes! They?re both gonna be going head-to-head in the Temple Games!? Kirk pauses to high-five the boys on each team. ?The Red Jaguars and the Orange Iguanas gave it a gallant effort.  We got a great gift for them and here?s what it is.? Garrett, Lindsey, Aaron and Shelby will each be receiving a backpack provided by Eastpak.
When the camera cuts away from the consolation prize, only the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes are still with Kirk at the bottom of the steps. ?These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera runs along the outside wall of the Temple; when it reaches the wall between the Bamboo Forest and Den of Totem Poles, the show?s logo appears; the camera continues to move stage-left along the wall while fading to black.

Post by: The Ancient Warrior on August 09, 2010, 05:14:23 PM
When the camera fades in from commercial, the show?s title card is placed over a shot of some foliage near Olmec and the Temple Gate.  The pendant logo splits, the title fades into the distance and the camera zooms out a bit before transitioning to Kirk standing in front of the Cannon Room with the two remaining teams.
?Welcome back to Legends!? he says. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s talk to our two teams.? He turns the left side of the screen to talk to the Purple Parrots, starting with a hazel-eyed girl with shoulder-length red hair. ?On the Purple Parrots, we have Sydney.  Sydney, how old are you??
?Twelve,? she replies.
?And I hear you?re on your school?s soccer team,? says Kirk, referring to the index card in his hand. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? explains Sydney, ?I?ve been a goalkeeper for the girls? team for? two seasons.?
?Do you watch a lot of soccer on TV??
?Not really, but I might watch the World Cup.? She shrugs and smiles, revealing two rows of braces.
?Ah, nice,? Kirk comments before moving to the left extreme of the screen to talk to Sydney?s partner, a blond boy with narrow blue eyes. ?And your partner here is James.  How old are you??
?Eleven,? he answers.
?And it says here you like BMX biking,? Kirk reads. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? answers James, ?I got into that ?cause I have older friends, they were getting into that, it looked cool? so I started too.?
?But tell me: What does ?BMX? stand for??
James simply shakes his head and laughs.
?You don?t know??
?It?s like? biking over hills and dirt and rocks and stuff,? James laughs.
?Sounds tough? sounds cool,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s hear it for the Purple Parrots!? The audience momentarily cheers for James and Sydney, who high-five during the round of applause.  As the audience starts to quiet down again, Kirk turns to his left to talk with the Silver Snakes, starting with a straight-dark-haired girl with brown eyes. ?But on the Silver Snakes, we have Tiffany.  How old are you??
?And I heard you play softball and you like to draw, but you also collect stamps,? Kirk says. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well, um?? Tiffany struggles to find words, ?I really just? like the little pictures on them.  Birds and flowers and? clouds and plants?? Her voice trails off.
?Sounds nice.  How big?s your collection??
?Uh? just about? thirty so far???
?Well, keep collecting!? Kirk teases before moving to talk to Tiffany?s partner, a short-brown-haired boy with blue-green eyes. ?And on the Silver Snakes, we have Marc.  Marc, tell me: How old are you??
?Twelve,? he says in response.
?And it says here you have a nickname,? reads Kirk. ?What do they call you??
? ?Wolf,? ? Marc answers simply.
?How come??
? ?Cause I?m? I really like the wild, the forests, the mountains, nighttime? I?m always racing around, leading my friends? so yeah.? He nods coolly.
?Sounds like I wouldn?t wanna mess with you,? Kirk chuckles, stepping back to the center of the screen. ?Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!? The audience gives Marc and Tiffany a short round of applause, during which the players clap along.

?All right, you ready to play?? asks Kirk.
?YEAH!? shout the players in response.
?Then why don?t you girls go get ready for the first Temple Game, guys go get set up for the second Temple Game,? Kirk says while pointing in different directions; he turns toward the camera again as Sydney and Tiffany walk offscreen in one direction, and James and Marc in another. ?In the Temple Games, each team is competing for?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Olmec begins:
"The Wat Phra Kaew is one of the largest and most ornate temples in all of Asia, and the shrine of the Emerald Buddha is decorated with thousands of orange and green tiles.  In this game, you will only have to decorate the column in front of you with four.  When Kirk gives the signal, grab a tile, stick it to your helmet, climb the column and when you get to the top, stick the tile to one of the four sides of the column.  Then, come back down and do it again.
"The first player to decorate the column with all four tiles? or the player that's further along after 60 seconds? wins!"
The camera fades to Kirk. "Looks like our teams've got a little interior designing to do," he comments. "Let's set the clock for 60 seconds." With a bang, a countdown clock slams down in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and Kirk dashes offscreen to the left. "On your marks, get set, GO!"
Sydney and Tiffany, who already had their first orange tiles on their helmet at the start of the game, start to climb their respective columns as soon as Kirk shouts ?Go.? Sydney has a bit of difficulty climbing, but Tiffany makes it to the top and sticks the first tile on one side of the cube-shaped capital with 49 seconds remaining.  Sydney catches up five seconds later when she places her first tile on the capital of the column as well.  However, Tiffany remains one step ahead, and sticks a green tile to the second side of the Silver Snakes? column capital with 35 seconds on the clock.
?Silver Snakes moving fast? can the Purple Parrots catch up?? Kirk asks amidst his commentary as Sydney struggles her way up the column for the second time.  She finally gets her first green tile in position with 24 seconds remaining, but by then, Tiffany is almost up at the top of the Silver column again.  However, Tiffany unexpectedly loses grip on the column? as she reaches up to place the last orange tile, one of her legs slips a little, breaking the ?lock? she had formed with her legs and nearly causing her to swing back and forth in midair, tethered only to a support cord connecting her harness to the ceiling (:17!). ?Ough! Silver Snakes in trouble, that can cost ?em!? Tiffany swings back to the column and starts climbing again, but by then, Sydney has closed the gap.  Finally, both girls place their third tiles at the top around the :06 mark, and can do no more than climb back down the column? not too long after they reach the bottom, the clock explodes and a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to signify that the game is over.
?All right, time?s up!? Kirk calls out, running onscreen. ?Let?s check it out?? Sydney and Tiffany let go of the columns and walk over, and spotters work on freeing them from their harnesses. ?Looks like each team got three tiles before time ran out, so each team gets a half a Pendant of Life!? The audience briefly cheers for the girls as they shake hands. ?The next is worth a half-Pendant too.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec continues:
"Like all temples, the Wat Phra Kaew has several bell towers, but in this game, you will need to retrieve a bell that has fallen into a small space.  When Kirk gives the signal, move along the path and pull on the rope below you as you maneuver it along the slot.  When you get to a hole in the slot, pull the first knot in the rope through the hole and continue on to the next hole.  At each hole, you can only pull enough of the rope to get past one knot, and you may not fall off the walkway or let go of the rope.
"The first player to reach the end of the walkway and pull the bell through the space at the end? or the one that's further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins!"
The camera segues over to Kirk. "This could be tough? they gotta drag and then hang the bells," he comments, standing in front of two U-shaped tracks held several feet above the ground by support beams. "Let's see.  Let's put 60 seconds on the clock?" The countdown clock slams down into the bottom-right corner; a purple half-Pendant appears in the upper-left and a silver half-Pendant appears in the upper-right, and Kirk takes a few steps to the left to get out of the way of the camera. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
James and Marc start running along the first bend of the track as soon as Kirk gives the signal, taking part of the long rope with them.  It takes only five seconds for them to get to the spot where the first round hole in the track is located; the hole is just big enough for the first knot in the rope to be pulled through, but none of the knots after it.  After only a few more seconds, Marc has pulled the first knot through and starts to take off again, although the bell is now being dragged along, slowing him down a tad.  James pulls the first knot through with 48 seconds to go, only a few seconds behind Marc.  At the second hole, however, Marc nearly drops the bell, allowing James to catch up.  Both players pull the second knot out of the hole with 38 seconds left, and the bell is just barely hovering over the ground as they move on.
?These players are tough, and they?re evenly matched? I can?t tell who?s gonna win, can you?? remarks Kirk while the boys are working on pulling the rope up to the third knot through the third hole.  Just after the halfway mark, the boys finish up at the third hole and start to move on.  Marc makes it to the last hole before the finish line with nineteen seconds remaining and gets to work. ?He?s just got one more hole to go? they both do!? Marc pulls the final knot through the hole with thirteen seconds remaining, leaving James behind, and makes his way to the nearby large space that marks the finish line so he can pull the bell through. ?I think it?s gonna be close?!? James finally gets the fourth knot through the hole with five seconds on the clock, but it doesn?t matter? Marc retrieves the bell before James can even reach the finish, stopping the clock at :03 and causing it and the Pendant count to disappear from the screen.
?That?s it!? Kirk announces, reappearing onscreen as James and Marc are lowered to the floor by the support cords, which spotters then disconnect from their harnesses. ?The Silver Snakes got their bell up and out of the hole before time ended.  They get a half-Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds again as Kirk and Marc high-five. ?They call him ?Wolf,? he?s ferocious, and now the Silver Snakes have a full Pendant.  The Purple Parrots have a half, but we go to the third and final game, it?s worth a whole Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec narrates:
"The Emerald Buddha statue in the Wat Phra Kaew is dressed in golden robes, but these robes have to be changed three times a year for the different seasons.  In this game, you and your partner will cycle through the three robes.  When Kirk gives the signal, one player from each team will grab the robe on your side, then both of you will climb up the wall.  Transfer the robe over the wall, and then climb back down and place it in your bin.  Then, grab the next robe and do it again.
"The first team to transfer all three robes from one partner to the other? or the team that transfers the most robes in 60 seconds? wins."
The camera transitions over to Kirk standing in front of the teams and the eight-foot walls. "This is for the Temple Run," he declares. "Put 60 seconds on the clock!" The clock and the earned Pendants reappear onscreen? a purple half-Pendant in the upper-left and a silver full Pendant in the upper-right? and Kirk promptly gets out of the camera's way. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
The players promptly attack the walls and scramble up along the handholds and footholds, but the Silver Snakes make it to the top a bit faster than the Purple Parrots.  They transfer the first robe from Tiffany to Marc after only eight seconds and start back down their wall, but the Purple Parrots make the first transfer only a few moments later (:49).  Surprisingly, however, the boys on each team make it to the bottom of the wall a lot faster than their partners? Marc places the first robe in the Snakes? bin with 45 seconds remaining, while Tiffany is only halfway down her side of the wall.  The same occurs to the Parrots; James drops off the first robe with 41 seconds on the clock, and starts back up even before Sydney can pick up the second robe.
?First robes in, now they gotta wait for their partners?!? Kirk declares as Marc reaches the top of the wall first (:36).  A few seconds later, Tiffany appears and hands off the second robe, with 32 seconds remaining.  James, in the meantime, is at the top of the Parrots? wall and waiting for Sydney.  During his wait, Sydney temporarily loses her grip on the wall; her support cord, luckily, allows her to swing back and, after a little trouble, grab back on and resume the climb. ?She slipped, she swang back, but that could cost ?er! We?ll see!? The Parrots finally pass off their second robe with 23 seconds to go, and James heads down to try and catch up to the Silver Snakes.  However, by the time he gets the second robe in the Purple bin with fourteen seconds left, the Silver Snakes are back up at the top of the wall again, preparing to hand off the final robe.  The Parrots transfer their last robe with five seconds on the clock, but it?s too little, too late, as the Snakes get the final robe in the bin at the exact same time.
?That?s it! That?s it! C?mon down, you guys!? Kirk declares, calling the players down as he reappears onscreen himself.  Spotters walk in to help the players out of their harnesses. ?Okay, the Silver Snakes got all three robes before time ended, so they get the full Pendant, giving them two, the Purple Parrots had a half.  The Silver Snakes are going to the Temple!? Tiffany squeals and tackle-hugs Marc, and the two share high-fives and other gestures with each other and the Purple Parrots. ?The Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too.  We got a great gift for them and here?s what it is.? James and Sydney will each be receiving a copy of the Phantasy Star 0 Nintendo DS game.
The camera cuts back from the consolation prize to show only Kirk and the Silver Snakes in front of the walls used in the third Temple Game. ?We?ll see if the Silver Snakes can make it through Olmec?s Temple,? he explains, ?retrieve the Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha? right after this!? The camera zooms in on the Original Robe in the Bamboo Forest, where the show?s logo reappears.  Then, the camera fades to commercial.

When the camera fades in from commercial, the show's logo is superimposed over a close-up of one of the torches on the left wall in the Pirate's Cove.  The camera zooms out a little, then the pendant splits, the title fades into the distance and the camera segues to Kirk standing in front of the Temple's stairs, with the Silver Snakes, Marc and Tiffany, to his right. "Welcome back," he says to the camera before turning to talk to the players. "You two have proven yourselves worthy and now you've earned the right to enter the Temple.  But first, here's some information to help you retrieve the Original Robe? of the Emerald Buddha."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
"You could start by running up to the Room of the Ancient Masks.  Push in the correct mask, and pass into the Pit of Despair.  There you must choose your next path.  You could race up into the Observatory, read the instructions on the far wall with the telescope and follow the instructions to open the door to the Central Dock.  Assemble the ship, and pass into the Den of Totem Poles.  Turn all the faces forward; that may take you below or lead you into the SHRIIIIIIIINE of the Siiiiiiilver Monkey! Assemble the statue, and you may be headed towards the Pirate's Cove! Place the torch in the correct holder to go back, or spin the ship's wheel and enter the Graveyard of Ships.
"Stand on the correct grave to go upstairs? but beware the Temple Guard that might be haunting one of the graves! Or, plow through the wall and into the Viper's Nest.  Reach into the snake jars and find the key, and you'll enter the Bamboo Forest! Next, race into the Cannon Room.  Load the three cannonballs into the cannon, and if the correct door is unlocked, you can crawl back through the Pit and finally climb through the Cave, rrrrace down the STAIRS and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone!" Olmec pauses for a second. "You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first?"
"I am!" calls Tiffany.
"Very well, Tiffany!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha.  Hidden inside the Temple are three secret passages that may lead you into the Bamboo Forest, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on BUT? if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and it'll be Marc's turn to enter and try his luck.  If you reach the Robe, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Original Robe in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they're both going to get camping gear provided by Outdoor Products.
?   If they grab the Robe within three minutes, they're going to get a Gibson Epiphone S310 electric guitar.
?   And if they can get the Robe out of the Temple before three minutes is up, they'll both be going on a Caribbean cruise! Nickelodeon at Sea, aboard the Norwegian Epic, offers two pools and volleyball and basketball courts, day trips to different islands and meet and greets with your favorite Nick characters! Fun for the whole family! Nickelodeon at Sea, by Norwegian Cruise Line!

"They're excited? let's see if these Silver Snakes are gonna go on that cruise!" Kirk says before turning to Marc. "But before we get started, Marc, I wanna know: What's your strategy?"
"Well, we're gonna go up to the? room with the masks," he answers, "across the Pit, into the room with the boats and then the room with totem poles, and hopefully the door? well, hopefully the doors will open so we can go down, and we can grab the Robes."
"All right!" Kirk says. "These guys know what they're gonna do, so let's get started.  Tiffany, you'll be going first, so let's get you into position.  Put your mouthpieces in.  Put three minutes on the clock." The clock appears onscreen. "Olmec, will you lower your gate?"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the faint orange lights under him are turned off.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"

The camera takes a few steps after Tiffany, as if to chase her behind Olmec and up the Temple?s stairs.  As she enters the Room of the Ancient Masks, the camera cuts to one inside the room; almost immediately after she sets foot in the room, something emerges from the door in the back?
?TEMPLE GUARD! Right off the bat!? Kirk shouts out as the first Temple Guard attempts to capture Tiffany with 2:49 on the clock.  Unfazed, Tiffany passes off her Pendant of Life to the guard, and hits the mask on the stage-right wall right after doing so.  The door to the Pit of Despair opens, and she heads on through with 2:41 remaining. ?She?s not afraid of that Temple Guard! She?s moving on, into the Pit of Despair!? Tiffany slows down a little as she crosses the closer-to-the-foreground of the two catwalks across the room; after carefully making her way across the left ledge, she squats down and hits the actuator for the Central Dock door. ?She tries the Center Room, that doesn?t open.  She tries the Observatory??? Tiffany carefully sidles along the left wall and hits the Observatory door actuator as well, and that door opens.  She proceeds through the doorway and up the stairs, setting foot in the Observatory with 2:24 remaining.
?All right, now she?s gotta?? Tiffany makes her way over to the telescope and puts an eye up to the lens while using the side knobs to focus. ?What does it say in the telescope? She?s gotta find that out?? While she has her eye on the telescope lens, the camera cuts to a shot of the writing on the far wall over the audience? ?Switch the Sun and Jupiter? (2:15)? before cutting back to Tiffany, who steps away from the telescope soon after and goes over to the two altars in the front of the room, which each hold three celestial models.  She grabs the Jupiter model (furthest from the front on the right altar) and the Sun model (furthest from the front on the left altar) in that order, places the Jupiter model on the left altar after picking up the Sun model and then places the Sun model on the right altar, opening the door to the Den of Totem Poles. ?She?s knows what she?s doing, she?s moving on!? Tiffany enters the Den with 2:03 to go, but immediately after she enters the room, the second Temple Guard appears and seizes her.
?Another Temple Guard! Go Marc! Go after her!? shouts Kirk, sending Marc into the Temple with 1:57 remaining.  He follows Tiffany?s path? starting in the Room of the Ancient Masks (1:51), passing into the Pit of Despair (1:46) and running through the Observatory (1:37)? eventually getting to the Den of Totem Poles with 1:31 on the clock.  He looks around for a moment before getting to work on the stage-right totem pole, kneeling so he is at eye level with the lower faces on the pole. ?That?s it, he?s gotta? he?s gotta turn out the faces so they?re looking out at us!? At first, Marc almost turns the faces too far and has to turn them back towards him.  He completes the first pole with 1:20 remaining, then runs over to the stage-left totem pole to align the faces on that as well. ?They call him ?the Wolf?? this is a fierce Silver Snake team!? Kirk remarks as Marc works on aligning the faces on the stage-left pole. ?Right now he?s right on top of the Shuttle? can he make it?? Marc is a bit faster with the left pole than he was with the right one, and completes the room objective with 1:10 on the clock.  However, the Bamboo Forest door does not open, and neither does the Shrine door. ?Which way?s he gonna go now?? Temporarily confused, Marc looks around for the one door that did open and then crawls through a small tunnel into the Central Dock with one minute and two seconds left.  He stands up and moves over to where the masts and crow?s nest are, in the back-right corner of the room, but before he can take the masts from the corner, the third Temple Guard appears from the side door and ambushes him (0:57).
?TEMPLE GUARD!? shouts Kirk as Marc turns around and takes a step back in shock. ?That scared ME! But he?s got a Pendant? he can go on!? Marc soon hands over his Pendant of Life to the Temple Guard, then moves over to where the masts are and grabs both of them at the same time.  He takes them to the front of the room and places them in their respective holes in the deck of the model ship situated in front of the ladder leading downward (0:48).  He then goes back for the crow?s nest and places that on the stage-right mast, completing the ship with 42 seconds to go. ?There, which door opened?? Marc looks down; the ladder is accessible, and he descends into the darkness of the Cannon Room. ?He?s just one room away from the Robe of the Emerald Buddha! Thirty-five seconds!? Marc looks around the room, and soon notices the first two cannonballs.  With a little trouble, he picks one up in each hand and then goes over to the cannon in the front of the room.  One at a time, he loads them into the cannon, with about 25 seconds left. ?There?s one more cannonball? Can he find it?? Marc suddenly darts off into the back-right corner of the room, and comes back with the third cannonball.  He places it in the cannon with eighteen seconds remaining; the tip of the cannon?s fuse lights up and the left part of the room receives more lighting as the Bamboo Forest door opens.  Marc moves over to the door, and spends a few seconds crawling through.
?He?s almost in the room? Yes! He?s in the room!? declares Kirk as Marc appears in the doorway leading right from the Bamboo Forest (0:13!). ?He?s got ten seconds, he?s gotta get to that robe!? Marc reaches out for the bamboo poles in front of him and starts to climb across them (0:11!).  He inches over to a large opening in the screen-like mass of shoots and passes through with eight seconds to go, then dives toward the foreground of the room to get to the robe. ?Seven? six? five? four? HE?S GOT IT!? Marc pulls the robe off the mannequin body it is draped over, then starts to run back to the opening he passed through.  However, time runs out as he starts to go back through the opening.
?He made it!? Kirk announces, with Tiffany at his side. ?He got the Robe with four seconds left! He couldn?t get it out, but Marc gave it a great effort, Tiffany cleared out a major path? they both get the camping gear and the electric guitar, and they still get to keep their confidence.  But we gotta get outta here? I don?t wanna, but we gotta, so check us out next time for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? Kirk and Tiffany wave at the camera; Marc, having stepped out into the foreground, soon joins them.  The three can be seen talking, interposed with shots of the Bamboo Forest, the cheering audience, the Moat and various bits of foliage making up the scenery as the credits roll.

Episode Summary
Episode 99px]

Name of Artifact: The Original Robe of the Emerald Buddha
Season: 3
Layout: 2 (12 overall)
Result: Failed escape
Team: Silver Snakes
Pendants Won: 2
Location of Artifact: The Bamboo Forest

First off, I'm amazed at how much trouble this Moat could give these players.  It was an adaptation of the "correct path" Temple Game, but instead of two teams crossing the same mass of thirty steps, each of the six teams had their own set of five, arranged in a sort of pentagon.  The Iguanas, Parrots and Snakes didn't have a lot of trouble, but the other players hesitated, didn't pay attention to where their partners went and so on until the Red Jaguars finished in a little more than a minute.  The Steps of Knowledge featured an interesting legend and a rare eleven-question round (and some funny answers? see the Orange Iguanas' reply to the last question ), but the Silver Snakes showed a lot of dominance over the Purple Parrots in the Temple Games, winning 2-?.

The Temple Run was quite the nailbiter.  Even though it wasn't a win, it broke a streak of eight consecutive episodes where teams failed to reach the artifact, and it was a good example of how the crew liked to be creative with the Temple setup from time to time.  Luckily, though, this unusual design didn't cause the team to stumble TOO much.  Tiffany started in the Room of the Ancient Masks, immediately losing her Pendant of Life.  She continued along the highest rooms until she got taken out in the Den of Totem Poles? almost exactly as planned, with the only exception being a trip to the Observatory rather than the Central Dock.

Marc, aka "Wolf," bolted into the Temple and somehow made good time even in the Den of Totem Poles.  The team's plan was foiled when he couldn't climb directly down from the Den, but he quickly regained his bearings and eventually completed the S-shaped path to the artifact.  He entered the Bamboo Forest with thirteen seconds to go, but he had to use nine of those to get to the Robe and couldn't even back out of the room in time.  Nevertheless, this was quite an exciting Temple Run.

Trivia and Records:
This episode ended a long chain of failed acquisitions (eight in a row, as per airing order), although it wasn't a win itself.  And as a side note, it's a strange coincidence that the path to the Original Robe closely resembled an S-shape, much like a snake's trail, and it was the Silver Snakes that went after it.

lol @ Soundgarden

I'm surprised the "go back to go forward" technique wasn't used as often as it should have in the original show, so I'm glad there's at least an example of it here. Good temple run, and good episode overall.

NOW GIVE US A WIN  J/K

I noticed that with the exception of the placement of the first two guards and the artifact, the design is an exact copy of "The Sacred Ring of Sultan Suleiman".
