What? No Polls?

I just started a new thread in the Heart Room, and when I went to add a poll to it the option to do so was not available.

Why can't we add polls to our new topics anymore? Or am I missing something here?

To make a new thread a poll, just select "New Poll" instead of "New Topic" upon creating it. I don't think preexisting threads can be made into polls retroactively. Does this answer the question, or am I misunderstanding?

Staff can add polls to existing threads.

That's weird, yesterday I was able to add a poll into one of the elimination threads in the Temple Games forum. Now, there is no option to add a poll into an existing thread. I guess the user rights were changed?

I can still add polls to a topic. I guess it's a staff only thing now?

Actually, could it be that you can only add the poll after the thread has been made?

Edit: I just noticed the "New Poll" button at the top of the forum lists. I wonder why it wasn't there previously.

I'm guessing that its because I'm on an 11-year old Apple computer.
