The Treasure Room / The Poisonous Cake of Rasputin
« on: October 19, 2006, 11:01:31 AM »
The Legend:
As your quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Poisonous Cake of Rasputin. But pay attention guys, your knowledge may bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Near the end of the Tsarist rule of Russia, an evil adviser by the name of Rasputin served as an aide to Tsar Nicholas II. Many people believe that he had the power to not only heal the Tsar?s illnesses, but also was able to hypnotize him into obedience. His actions earned him the nickname ?The Mad Monk.? Other advisors to the Tsar became suspicious of his deeds.

Pavlovich! I suspect that Rasputin is a witch. We must burn him.

How do you know he is a witch, Yusupov?

He turned me into a newt!

A newt?

? I got better. OK, maybe he didn?t. But how do you explain his curing of the Tsar?s son?s hemophilia? Or how he somehow convinced the country to enter the World War?

You?re right. Those can?t be coincidences. We must get rid of him before he takes over all of Russia. Let?s meet at your house tonight, and we?ll get him.

That night, Yusupov prepared a piece of cake and a bottle of wine laced with enough cyanide to kill ten men. He ate half the cake, and drank most of the wine, but didn?t die.

He?s still alive! That?s impossible!

He is a witch! Enough of this secrecy; just shoot him.

Yusupov shot Rasputin in the back, and watched him fall to the floor.

And now, I shall incautiously walk over to the surely deceased body to check his pulse, positive that he is in fact dead.

Rasputin grabbed Yusupov by the throat and threw him to the other side of the room, acting as if nothing had happened. Before Rasputin could flee the room, Pavlovich fired three more shots into Rasputin?s back. Rasputin was wounded, but still alive. The two men proceeded to beat Rasputin with fireplace pokers. Assured he was now dead, they wrapped him in a blanket and threw him into the icy Neva River. Days later, coroners found the body with his arms reaching above his head. An autopsy was performed, and the cause of death was found to be drowning. He was not only alive when dumped in the river, but he would have survived had the top not been frozen.

Well, that was scary, but at least he?s dead. Nothing bad will ever happen to the Tsar Nicholas II again. Nosiree?

The Cake Rasputin never finished eating was saved as a reminder of the horrible evening, and it has found its way into the temple. Your quest is to find it and bring it back here.

Thank you, Olmec. Tell us, where is this poisoned cake?

The Poisoned Cake of Rasputin can be found in The Dungeon.

The Steps of Knowledge:
Teams, you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you?re first, your step will light up and you can answer the question. If you?re correct, you?re going to move down to the next step. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level (Kirk descends steps for emphasis) will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Let?s get started. Olmec; first question.

Here's my first entry for Season 5. Hope you guys like it.

Legends of the Hidden Temple
Lost Season 5, Episode 6
The Poisonous Cake of Rasputin

The camera traverses its way through several plants to simulate a thick rainforest. It eventually makes its way to a large stone head. Its eyes light up and it begins to speak.

OLMECpx]The Moat:[/b]
Before you, lying in the moat are floating volcanic rocks. Some are fastened to the ground beneath the water and can support your weight. Others will sink when stepped on. When Kirk gives the signal you and your partner must pick a rock and step on it. If it supports your weight, pick another and move on. If it sinks, both of you must go back to the start. When both teammates reach the other side, run over and hit the gong. (Kirk hits gong for clarification) The first four teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

It?s time to sink or swim. Teams are you ready? (wait for response) Olmec, are you ready?

Let?s rock.

All right, on your marks. Get set. GO!

Funny stuff. These guys know humour.

It's turned into the 'what we are watching instead of watching Legends' thread. Lock it up.

You can't have artifacts tied to religious events, it'd be blatant televangilism.

The Treasure Room / The dirt jar of Jack Sparrow-TEH FANFIC!
« on: October 09, 2006, 08:39:32 AM »
It's just that it's a legend based on a movie not even a year old.

I say it can be continued as a Fanfic, but kept out of the canon of season five.

Interesting choice for a Legends subject, but I'm not complaining.

My only critique is a lack of Legend and Steps of Knowledge. You should at least copy a brief synopsis from Wikipedia.

I think Kirk was jealous that Mike got partnered with Moira, and he had to share a dressing room with the temple guards.

Yeah, sure Kirk won all three temple runs. I bet the artifact was never in the central shaft.
